Issue with Bath Faucet

The cold water knob (an old fashioned style of separate cold and hot water knobs) in the shower does not turn, even after the knob was replaced two times, it worked for a while, and doesn't turn again.

What could the reasons be for this?

Rubber washer inside the tap,

Best to just update the fixture

Hi Sha,

This isn't an issue with a cartridge per say, nor is it an issue with the handle. Between the cartridge and the handle is a little nylon grooved sleeve, sound like this has become stripped. You can buy them at the hardware store for a few bucks and are pretty easy to replace. However, we always recommend replacing the faucet with a single leaver pressure balanced valve as per plumbing code to prevent scalding.

Hope this helps!
