Indoor pool will be removed and space will be converted into a garage. The new garage floor will have radiant heat.

3/4"- with fines aggregate, basically a road base material. Will compact very well.

Fill with clay...you may need to consult a soil engineer, last thing you want is settlement after filling a hole that big, then pad is as per standard code

For creating a solid base for the new concrete garage floor with radiant heat, a compacted granular material known as "road base" or "crusher run" is commonly used. Road base is a blend of crushed stone, sand, and fines that compacts well and provides a stable foundation for concrete. It offers good drainage and helps to prevent settling or shifting of the concrete slab. Additionally, road base allows for efficient heat transfer from the radiant heating system, ensuring optimal performance.
