Structural engineer and/or???

I need a structural engineer to review our home (we are new to the home) re: grading and repairs needed, outside & inside (if any). I do not know who I should contact for this and how intensive the work might be.

I also am looking for a quote to fix the area around the house to if grading is required with probably a cement walkway. Also our front steps are tilting and broken. This needs to be repaired also. I have a side door that requires a metal lintel put in.

Can all this be looked after with one company, or do I need to hire different companies to rectify these areas?

Thank you.

I would suggest hiring a general contractor. This type of contractor has a group of people that he continually uses which should mean that they are reputable. Hiring different contractors for each project may be more cost effective but really not worth the head ache with the issues that could come up.

Ask your general contractor about an engineer but I really do not see a need for one at this time with the info provided.

You do not need a structural engineer unless you are making actual structural changes to the building, they are extremely expensive & unnecessary. As you are looking at different specialties: landscaping, repairs to house etc. I recommend you simply call renovation or handyman contractors to look at the repairs & remodeling and get estimates and then a landscaping company to come and estimate yard/grade work.
