It really depends, some sure ways to tell are

How thick is the wall?

Is it roughly in the middle of home?

Is there a wood or metal beam in same place in the downstairs ceiling (basement)?

Best thing to do is email some pictures or get an engineer in there for an appointment.

Thank you

Hi

Most of the times these kind of walls are load bearing. You need a professional contractor or structural engineer for assessment and advice.
