I have a leak in my basement (possibly the entrance and stairs area) and it happened when it was raining very hard a few days ago. I removed the drywalls and the floor of that area and noticed the leak is from the corners of the foundation, and there is not a sign of any cracks. I would like to know which professional should I contact and how can this problem get fixed? Then I will post my project.
Thanks.
There are a few questions that need to be asked first to better fix the issue.
What year was your house built in?
Is there side walks against the foundation?
Do your eaves trough and down spouts function properly.
Are you able to direct spouts away from the building?
I find this to be a common problem with newer infill developments, often there isn't sufficient room along side yards to compact fill as back fill is done. Over time the ground settles making low spots for water to collect.
My advise is to deal with proper site drainage first. This should stop water from entering the building through the foundation.
