We have been finding mould everywhere, and also one of our walls is 'mushy'. What do you think we should do other than clean up mold?

Contact a specialist for mold removal. Don't get fooled by one of these "we do it all" guys. Mold is nothing to mess around with. if you have a "mushy wall" then the drywall needs to be removed and replaced.

Mushy walls need to be repaired properly. Mold removed by professional, do not simply coat over the mold. And, finally, mold only grows when moisture is high, so find out where the water is coming from. Fixing the drywall and mold is fixing the symptom only. Fix what caused this problem as well.

I think I would contact a company provides contracting and renovating constructions services. But I would chose this company based on recent client reviews online or by contacting these clients in person to decide if this person has the knowledge to provide the service you require. Once you find someone you are certain you would like to work in your house you can hire them to come out and analyze all areas and determinate true root cause of the problem, create and present the most effective and efficient solution for you. Then decide if this is what you would like to do to solve your problem and I see a successful experience.

I hope all goes well!

Thank you,
