I'm making a loft in the attic. What's the best way to re position a fan style trusses only on one side?
Do you have an engineered report/drawing?...I have done loft spaces before and from the looks of your existing rafter roof, its a no-go with out rebuilding the entire roof. You cannot just pull out parts of "web on a engineered truss" and then frame something in, not only is it illegal but you will risk collapse. Snow load is approx. 100 lbs per sqft. If this is being suggested by a contractor, fire them, if this is a homeowner project stop immediately. I strongly recommend you get a engineer to provide you with a plan of action.
John is correct. You can't do any kind of alteration to a truss without input from the designer, including notching and drilling. I see that a web has been removed. This will now require an engineered repair detail from a truss supplier.
I don't know what's going on with the drywall on the underside of the roof. The trusses are likely not designed for this additional load not to mention that you also need insulation and vapor barrier if this is going to be a heated loft which is open to the floor below. The bottom cord of the trusses would not be designed to support any loads other than the insulation.
