Laundry Room

I am looking to put in a counter above my washer and dryer. I am wondering what the best option is for the countertop - the cheaper option would be laminate and the more expensive option is granite. Any advice? Granite is a big selling feature in a kitchen, but not sure if I would be wasting my money by putting it in the laundry room.

If you are in an area where this would be good for resale value Granite is popular so is quartz.

There are also textured laminates that look quite good if not.

How big is the counter?

For the Laundry Room is good a nice melamine countertop, because there you don't scratch the counter anyway, and it is steel resistant. A good installation provide you a good counter-top.

Hello Ms. Megan,

Having granite countertop in your laundry room can not be justified unless you really have money to waste. That room will be used by members of your family, and made only, an will not come in contact with anything harder than may be Iron. I would definitely recommend

high quality laminate finish. I recommend IKEA countertops for this purpose for their modern designs, and more than enough material stability.

This area around washer and dryer can be nicely designed to be beautiful, and very practical with some drawers Underneath machines, in between, and some storage on the wall above countertop.

I forbid you to use granite here. :-)

Glad if could be of any help.
