Cost to waterproof exterior of basement

I have been doing alot of research and I am getting a lot of mixed answers, so I would like a no BS answer.

How much would/should it cost to waterproof the exterior of a basement?

I understand this job requires a lot of digging, it is an average of 4 to 5 feet to my footings.

The house footprint is 33' x 26', with a chimney and a garage hanging off the front. built in 1979.

We had no water problems during the winter or the melt season.

I have recently had my basement windows enlarged and the team used a mini excavator to dig a hole big enough for the concrete saw and then a post hole digger to reach the weeping tile. they took half a day to dig and prep and 1 day to install 4 windows and window wells. My point to this story is I saw how quickly the pros can get in and out, it would take me a week to dig those holes, I also got to see my basement walls which just looked like bare concrete, maybe a tar was painted on it maybe not it was hard to tell, I was a bit surprised, I expected to see a dimpled membrane or similar.

Thank You in Advance.

Hey, Ryan.

Usually, waterproofing is priced based on linear footage and what is required.

Depending on the property/dig conditions, I'd approximate around $100/lin. ft. for the entire job.

Most homes even now depending on the Code in the area have a single layer of tar based covering over the concrete . IF its block it should have scratch coat and then the tar spray at Minimum . Now the tar spray is DAMP proof , If they didn't thin this and applied 3 coats it then would withstand moisture and for a good time.. Unfortunately bad code and worse inspections allow below any Minimum standards . A shallow basement also means removing less overburden BUT there is also alot to move and store . I am estimating 63 yards at 5 foot depth and 3 wide. You would be looking at $ 12GS to $15GS . depending on all the logistics . Site location Access . spoil pile removal and back fill . That includes Digging . Power Washing . Prime . Blue skin . Delta board . 2 foot gtavels . Drain tile ( Big O ) with filter sock. Back fill . rough Grade . Final finish extra ie top dress re seed .
