Small home in crown point east with barn style roof. Double layer of shingles need to be removed and ashfault shingles installed. Unsure whether there is plywood underneath as this is an old house. It might have wooden slats as the substructure. Roof sq footage is probably 1500 sq ft including a flattish porch roof.
Sorry, my english is too bad, so excuse me first.
We bought a old bungalow at flamborough in dundas Hamilton. The house and garage were connected by last houseowner a couple of years age, but now, It's leak slightly, so we want to renovate them, remodel the flat roof of garage like the house and have a whole roof of them.
Thx.
I am looking to add a covered patio/roof extension to my sunroom addition which was built in 2016. The current sunroom has a 5/12 truss with a 3/12 vaulted ceiling spanning 22’ with a 16” overhang on each end. The roof is currently 10’ off of a floating concrete patio So the foot print of the supporting structure should be 22’ wide and project 12’. I’m looking for a post and beam construction with as few vertical supports as possible.
We need someone to design and build a second level deck with staircase that will extend out over a ground level building. The roof of the lower building will need to be repaired beforehand, preferably with steel shingles or other durable roof covering. The area of the deck will measure approximately 15 by 15 feet.
On our 14 year old bungalow we need some shade for the back of the house. We want a new peaked roof section built on top of the existing roof and to extend over the patio area so as to provide some shade on hot summer days. It needs to look good as if it was always there and as if it was just another roof feature rather than something that looks home made.
We are getting new roof shingles on the roof in April so we thought this would be the best time to get this job done just before they put on the new shingles.
So the new roofline would extend into the back yard and perhaps be supported by two columns .......but we are open to suggestions
John
Looking to side a 1950's 1.5 story brick house. Looking for a quote to strap and side with vinyl board and batten siding looking at approx 1200 sq ft of materials. Willing to entertain only doing the front of the home with the board and batten and the rest of the home with horizontal siding depending upon costs. The front window has been replaced with a bay window and the roof and soffits and eavestroughs recently replaced.
Hello,
I am in Hamilton. I am looking for some flashing on my roof, this coming week. I would like to get a quote? I am sending a photo of the work I would like done. It is the flashing (may just need tape and sealant) on the main roof where the roof meets the brick on a townhouse on Victoria Ave N. There is more I would like done next year, so I looking to have a good working relationship, at this time this is the work I need done now.
My house has a tall cement clay tile roof and a side that is flat roofing.
When I bought the house the inspector said the flat roof needed to be drained properly. There are drains everywhere but when it rained recently it caused leakage around my window.
I also have another window that leaks under the cement tile roof and I was told it is the roof, not the window.
I have a flat roof at a commercial building in downtown Hamilton that has a leak. Can I get an estimate for the inspection and repair please. It's a business and I require fairly quick service.
Please call me as soon as you can.
The access is easy and I can meet you there to give you access to the interior.
Thank you,
Dan
There is water leaking from my soffit around my flat roof, but no water is getting inside the house, that I am aware of. The indoor dimensions of this flat roof extension is about 8'x14'
Looking for someone to assess and perform repairs as needed on an economical basis.
I have also had snow blow in through my Roof vents on the angled sections of roof this winter, looking to have those repaced or have some solution put in place for that as well.
I need a new roof on my garage. It is approximately 25' x 12' long. It will probably need new sheathing too. The work needs to be done as soon as possible. I'm looking for 15 year shingles, nothng fancy. Quote must include removal and disposal of old shingles (and sheathing if necessary).
Once the garage is complete there is the potential for follow-on work.
You need to provide proof of insurance (public liability, property damage and worker's compensation) and licensure before starting the job.
The job site is a couple of blocks west of McMaster University in Hamilton.
There is a picture attached that partially shows the roof that needs to be replaced.
Hi, I'm looking to have my roof redone. It is a small 1 1/2 story house in Hamilton.
There is a smaller gable roof at the rear of the house over an addition, as well as the main gable roof. Main floor area of the house and addition is approx. 510 square feet. Please see the attached photo.
There are currently 4 layers of shingles on the roof. I imagine that much of the underlying plywood will need to be repaired or replaced. Please contact me with estimates for quality material and labour, including removal of all the old material.
I am open to alternatives to shingles; contact me with details.
Ideally the work would be performed between the 11th and 21st of October.
Thanks for checking out my project, I look forward to hearing from you!
Adam
We have moved into an older house with a slate roof and have a leak that has slightly damaged the ceiling in one of our bedrooms.
This job would require, identifying the source of the issue and identifying and any providing preventative measure that could avoid potential issues in the future.
During a recent storm (March 13/14), we found the ceiling inside our garage was dripping water. This has happened before and we had a contractor replace the roof flashing and some shingling around the roof of the garage. Since then we have had no issues, but now we have a water damaged ceiling inside the garage that we would like to have repaired. The house was constructed in 1997 and this garage area has never been renovated or repaired previous to this.
We are hoping someone can look at the area and get an idea of how to repair and prevent this from happening again. We would like some estimates before we proceed.
I live in a 4 level backsplit and the area on the lower roof, directly in front of the raised roof line, will have ice build up during the cold months and during thaws and rain I will then have water get under the shingles and start dripping through my kitchen ceiling. So far, it has been limited to the area directly above my kitchen sink.
To prevent this I have gone up on the roof to shovel off any snow and break up any ice build up. That has worked reasonably well but not perfect. From time to time, on a windy and rainy day, I have had a bit of rain get under the shingles and find a way into my kitchen.
The shingles appear to be in good shape. It is approximately 7yrs old.
The roof leak is a little hit and miss. On days when we get only light amounts of rain there isn't any visible leak. When we get a significant amount of rain it leaks and it usually smells when it leaks. the leak is at the crack across the kitchen ceiling right near the left end of the kitchen counter about 1 to 1.5 feet out from the counter. The floor is starting to have problems where the leak is of course there's other problems with the floor to the right of where the leak is so this could turn into a larger problem with the subfloor deteriorating. I usually put a bucket under the spot where the leak is if I know it's going to rain.
One thing I noticed outside is that the eaves troughs aren't nailed with long enough nails I found a nail on the front sidewalk right under where it's hanging low. The nail is only 7 or 8 inches long not 10 or 12 inches long.
We lost some shingles in the wind storm. The roof is only 10 years old but I think it was not a very good job. Could you quote for (a) roof repair (b) roof replacement at (c) roof replacement plus removing an unused chimney. We are the property owner. the roof is a simple up and down (no gables). The house is an old Victorian 2 1/2 stories. Many thanks
I want to repace a roof that is 45 years old and is a flat roof with two differant hights.I want to change the flat roof to a pitch roof. The building is 3080 sq feet,40 feet wide 77 feet long.33.3 feet of the building from the front is 8 foot 8 inch higher then the back of the house.I want to rise the back and add a truss system to give me my pitch or i could do the roof in two parts from front to back and make the centre of the building my point load with no rise to the back i need a price on a plan i can submit to get my permit to build.
Thank you for your time i hope this was enough information if not please call me.
