I need to install an under-the-cabinet range hood. The cabinet will need to be raised up to the ceiling to make more room for the hood. Currently, there is a ceiling fan nearby (1-2 ft away) that will be removed, so the range can be connected to existing exhaust and electrical wires.
Currently, our microwave is located 17 inches above the stove (not to code). If possible, I would like to relocate the microwave and install a wall mounted range hood. The microwave is vented to the outside but the current venting would need to be changed to accommodate a range hood. The current duct is 4 inches in diameter. I'd like to know if this type of range hood could be installed and an estimate of cost.
Thank you.
The electric hot water tank is currently situated under the stair case and I would like to move it to the other side of the stairwell to put the stackable laundry pair under the stair case. This will involve moving electrical and plumbing. It is a very tight space and may require removal of drywall as well.
100 Amp panel is at unfinished basement on one of the corners. I'm planning to do a 2nd unit in the near future and I'd like to have access to the Electrical Panel.
the current location would be on a closet in one of the tenants bedroom which I'd prefer to avoid.
the desire location (relocation) will be approx. 10 feet away (see pic attached).
The basement is unfinished at this time so running cables will be easier.

I own a townhouse that was built in 1977, that has the older style cartridges and fuses. Could you provide me with an approximate cost on having this upgraded to the newer "breaker" style of panel?
Additionally, do you know where I could find a registered electrician in my area as well.
Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
Kindest Regards,
Nancy
I need to change the old service to the new one in west end of Mississauga in the middle of August.
I would also like to inquire about the price for changing aluminium wiring to the regular one. It is a plit level semi with easy access to every room from basament/attic and garage- (1 floor only), approximately 1200 square feet
Want to get a garage door opener installed in the garage, but don't have a ceiling outlet.
Looking for quotes from licensed electricians on approx. how much would it cost to get a ceiling outlet box installed with a conduit running down to the pre-existing wall outlet (where a wall junction box would also have to be placed).
Thanks,
Jay

I'm looking for an electrician to install adjustable track lighting as well I have an outlet I tried to change which then made the outside light and inside spot light no longer work...its somehow related but obviously a job for a professional.
I'd also like to get a separate quote on the cost to change out about 40 outlets and covers and about 10 light switches ( previous owners smoked so the switches are yellow).
Enbridge left a warning card which reads:
A - The appliance and/or piping is unsafe - the appliance has been disconnected and capped (or the mete shut off) for the reasons listed below
Gas supply line corroded @bldg entry
Welded 90 needed if left below ground
When I phoned Enbridge, I was told they cannot help me. I have to check the yellow pages to look for a gas technician. They are not allowed to recommend any company or technician according to government regulations. The companies they use for outsourcing are also bound by the same rules.
Is this the kind of job that a local contractor can undertake?
I phoned several companies listed in the yellow pages and have not had any response. I also got a list of TSSA licensed contractors in and around my area but the list has no phone numbers. I found only 3 in the telephone directory. One cannot do the job because he does not have the equipment and tools, the other 2 I'm still waiting to hear from.
One company I phoned had a guy who wanted me to pay him $1,000 in cash or cheque, without looking into the situation and assessing the damage. He said he will come only on condition that he is hired to do the job - he will not give any estimate. He was rude and pushy when I told him I want to check with other companies first and get a quote.
Looking for a contractor to install LED under cabinet lighting in our kitchen. In the attached photo you will see the layout. RED marks electrical outlet locations, and GREEN marks the switch location. I would like the lighting to be wired in behind the wall, and linked all together (perhaps with a wireless system to get across the sink), and then install a switch built into the wall. I would require the contractor to also prep the drywall back to ready-to-paint condition. The cabinets already have a valence on the bottom.
Total length of under cabinet is about 7.9'
The current electrical panel is 60amps and I need it upgraded to 100amp service. It is also in the kitchen and I would like it moved down to the basement directly underneath where it is right now. The power comes in above ground from the street to a pole on the side of the house. It is a high basement and the pole could be moved down and go straight into the back of the panel in the basement. If possible I would like there to be no evidence of the panel ever being in the kitchen (no junction boxes in the cupboard) however if that is very costly or not allowed due to code, it is not important.
I also need a subpanel put in the garage approx 50 feet away. It needs 2 30amp 220v/110v circuits and 1 circuit for the lights.
I’m at Mississauga Rd and QEW, and the work I have is the following:
- connect wiring such that existing drop-in floor heater (Dimplex) operates when furnace turns on. New furnace installers said to contact electrician for this work.
- wire a newly purchased Dimplex drop in floor heater located in same room to operate as above
- repair an outlet or re-wire as needed to main panel ( breaker trips when laundry iron plugged in)
- exterior, to bring power to and install an outdoor receptacle located about 25 feet from house
Thank you,
Gordon
