Hi,
We are hoping to have a complete bathroom renovation done in our 1940s built bungalow. The size of the very small bathroom, the only one in the house, is approx 60x90 inches, with the toilet facing the wall mounted sink. The tub is on the far opposite side of the entrance. We would like to relocate the toilet to where the sink is and move the sink over closer/against to the entrance wall. Then, when the door opens, there is a clear path straight to the tub. There is also tile on the walls currently to about 4 feet.
The complete bathroom reno would also replace the floor tiles, wall tiles, new tub, new sink/vanity, new mirror, lighting, bathroom fan. The walls are currently lathe and plaster I think.
Thanks in advance for considering this renovation.
Mike
Hi! We’re looking to renovate our family bathroom. It is the only bathroom in a 2nd floor condo unit we own. The building is a 100+ years old 6 unit building. The current bathroom was last renovated in the 1980’s.
The bathroom has a bath, toilet, vanity and an alcove tiled shower. The bathroom is 5.2 m2 + the shower which is 114cm x 74cm. I uploaded photos of the current bathroom and a drawing of the layout. We are looking for contractors to strip everything that is in place and replace with functional good quality products, mostly keeping the same layout. We would like to have the following work done:
- stripping of existing elements. Note that the tiles are not sealed anymore so under-flooring may be damaged and need to be replaced too.
- replace the bath with a standard size bath (the current one is enormous)
- replace floor tiles and splash tiles next to the bath,
- install new toilet,
- install a new vanity with 1 sink,
- install possibly a medicine cabinet/mirror (needs to be possible to childproof),
- re-tile the walls and floor of the alcove shower, with appropriate under-layer
- update the lighting fixtures (one in shower and one above sink)
- replace fan
- add some storage cupboard. We are looking for advice on where to put more storage. There are currently two doors leading into the bathroom and it would be possible to remove one and close the wall permanently.
As this is our only bathroom, we are looking for the work to be completed within a short space of time. We have some flexibility as to when the work would be completed, hopefully in 2021.
Thank you!

I live in a townhouse in South Keys. For 8 months I have been renovating my bathrooms (3) and have just finished the first. I would like to hire out the finishing of the main bathroom.
I have the custom cabinets, toilets, tub and all fixtures purchased already.
Currently the bathroom is still in tact, and functional. I am willing to do the demo if that will kep the price down (at least removing the old cabinets and toilet.
I would like someone to come in and do the fixture installation, any plumbing that needs redone ... one electrical outlet will have to be moved and provisioning made for the lighting in the new custom cabinets. Currently it's a linoleum floor and tiled walls around the tub. The bathroom is approx 80 sq ft and is on the 2nd floor of the townhouse.
If I am happy with the quality of work and price I will seriously consider using you again for a kitchen renovation I am hoping to have done within the next 6 months.
Minimum renovation regroute bathtub tile, new caulking, change vanity counter top and sink.
Maximum renovation new bathroom floor, new toilet, new vanity or new vanity countertop, new grout or new bathtub tile.

I require 3 quotes for 3 project I need done within a house that was built in 1990:
1. the current home enterance has white tiles as flooring. I would like to replace this with hardwood flooring. The space is 8'9" x 15'. I would be able to purchase the actual hardwood boards from Home Depot, however I need a quote for labour and installation please.
2. Bathroom renovations:
Master Bathroom: require the flooring (which is currently PVC/Vinyl) to be changed to Tiles. size of bathroom is 11' x 10'. I can either purchase the tiles from Home Depot, or if you have a selection to choose from that would be great also. I require the current vinyl flooring to be removed and installation of new tiles. I would also like a quote for the removal of current bathroom counter tops and sinks (there are 2 sinks in the master bathroom) and installation of new countertops and sinks
Main bathroom: require quote for installation of the bathroom counter top and sink.
3. Painting of enterance/foyer walls (8' 9" X 15'), Living room (8' 9" X 15') and bedroom (12' X 10') all one light peach color.
I am looking for online estimate only at this stage before proceeding to inspection of project site. Kindly provide quote itemised for labor and materials separately, as well as time for project completion.

Looking to hire a general contractor for complete renovation of two bathrooms (master ensuite and adjacent full bathroom in hallway) on third floor of townhouse. Renovations to be done in a manner that there is at least one functioning shower at all times.
Work description:
Ensuite bathroom (approx 4' x 10', not counting 32'' x 38'' shower): replace vanity, medicine cabinet, toilet, expand shower (within existing bathroom walls), install shower door, retile shower and floors, add cabinetry/shelving, replace ventilation, add new lights (including lights in ceiling and above vanity), paint. Due to past water infiltration, full gutting probably needed to ensure that there is no mould/rot in walls or floor.
Hallway bathroom (approx. 7'8'' x 8'): replace bathtub, toilet, vanity, light fixtures, ventilation and medicine cabinet, retile walls and floor, paint.
Will require electrical work. No change to general location of drains and faucets expected (but suggestions for more efficient and esthetic layout of bathroom fixtures are welcome).
Hoping to keep budget within $15,000-$20,000 per bathroom, but willing to pay a bit more for higher quality work and professional design advice.
Work could start at any time within the next three months, but would appreciate having it completed within a six- to eight-week period once underway (negotiable).
Conditions:
Contractor must:
- be rated 4.5 or above on TrustedPros.com or 85% or above on Homestars.com
- be accredited with the Better Business Bureau or have a BBB rating of "A" or "A+"
- provide proof of liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage
- not be listed on Ontario's Ministry of Labour website for having contravened any employment standards or occupational health and safety requirement
Both bathrooms need total renovation. That will include new toilets, sinks, cabinetry and, in one bathroom, a new tub - in the other a shower stall. Tile surrounds and floors will also be done.
One bathroom (ensuite) is approx 5 by 10 and the other approx 5 by 12
I have pretty definite ideas on the styles I want.
e.g. soaker tub, full length standup shower stall (5 ft long)
clean and simple lines in cabinetry - good shower heads - mid range tiles etc.
We have 5 homes. There are presently two homes who would need a bathroom floor overhaul. There is also one particular bathroom that needs quite a bit of repair other than the floor. We are in need of having three quotes of course for board approval and we are looking due to it being City funding, it must be spent prior to year end. It's a quick enough job but getting the numbers seems to be the larger challenge.
I would like to organize a viewing of one of the homes this coming Friday, December 7, 2012 to obtain these quotes.
My day is free, whatever is convenient. End of the day is best.
Many thanks
Sylvie
House built in 60's - original fixtures. There is some seepage from bath wall/tub surround area to ceiling below. Does not appear to be plumbing leak in my inexpert opinion. We had 3 piece solid surround installed over tile about 10years ago - time for something better. Did price bathwall thing that fits over - not sure - for that price perhaps a more thorough solution should be done.
We had our bathroom done last year and the shower that we had installed is leaking. It is a circular shower, and the rubber seals on the doors are not completely flush when opening and shutting the doors. There is leaking along the framing of the shower on both sides. There is caulking to be redone around the shower, bathtub, and toilet.
I have a sink thats leaking. the porcelain sink needs to be replaced, the pipes underneath are ridiculously rusty (which also needs to be replaced). The tabs and the faucet I think also need to be replaced.
I'm thinking the whole job will take about 3 hours.
Please give me an accurate (not downplayed) estimate of how much this should cost.
Need to replace a small area of rotten plywood sub floor in bathroom (3 x 5 feet). This was the floor area under and around the toilet. The room (approx. 10 x 5 feet) has already had everything removed: vanity, toilet, and the old flooring, so it's a fairly easy job for a professional. The house is 30 years old. The original plywood subfloor is 5/8 inch.
Most importantly, I need someone to do the small job above fairly soon, in the next week or two.
All or part of the following could be added. I've been planning to do it myself but haven't yet.
-installing laminate flooring in two bedrooms and a small hallway (flooring already purchased)
-installing baseboards throughout the house (living room, dining room, 3 bedrooms, bathroom, a few halls)
-tiling small section of bathroom, the 3 x 5 feet area mentioned above that needs the new sub floor (I intend to do this myself, but if you are also a tiler I'd be happy to give it up.)
Bathroom renovation.
Current details:
About 4' by 5' space. Standard bathtub/shower combination. Wall hung sink. Plumbing has been updated in last 10 years (1942 bathroom).
What I need done:
Gut existing floor and halfwall tile and drywall.
Replace drywall, including ceiling.
Install waterproof backer board in shower.
Install new ceramic subway tile (three half walls approx. 4' wide). Standard Dal-tile or equivalent. Colour biscuit.
Install new ceramic subway tile shower.
New heated floor tile (assume $10 square foot natural stone choice).
New shower/tub faucet.
New tub (colour: biscuit).
Upgrade electrical to include illuminated medicine cabinet and light above tub.
Thanks in advance for emailing me written quotes for the above work.
I have a rental property (small condo), I would like to take out the tub/shower and put in a new shower/tub combo. I don’t currently have any measurements, but I think it’s a standard tub size. Currently, there’s a tub with tile around the area above the tub. I suspect there will be some mould under the tub. I would like to install a “one-piece” shower with tub (no more tile). The bathroom is small, so it might be a tight area to work in.
Please let me know what other info you need. Or if you have any recommendations.
Thanks
Need to:
- Change faucet (standard)
- Change toilet (remove old one)
- Remove lamp to install new one
- Add an electrical plug (regular 2 plugs)
Also, I need to replace 2 smoke detectors: one electric and one with battery.
Please, give me a breakdown of each item as I might start with one or two.
Thank you!
