We would like to replace our old stairs leading to the second floor. They are in somewhat poor condition and are more steep than we would like. The stairs are on a common wall with the house next door. They are currently carpet covered, and I think we would stick with that. The house is old (1910).

Hi,
I have a wood dining room table (with black lacquer) that does not fit through our front door. It does not come apart. Looking for someone who can come to us at Avenue Road and Glencain (Toronto) to cut the legs down an inch or two. Might need two chairs done as well. Thanks!
2 small projects we're looking to have done fairly quickly:
1. Build & install ceiling medallion. Ceiling is concrete. Care must be taken to make sure medallion anchors consistently across ceiling (ceiling may be uneven--just a guess). Medallion is to cover 2 electrical junction boxes and the conduit linking them. It will be a hollow or routed out board that is approximately 5'-0" long x 0-8" wide x 0'-1.5" tall. It will need to have an opening in the center to allow installation of a light fixture. If it is not a hollowed out single board then I would like all mitered edges.
2. supply & install ceiling moulding to cover curtain rod. Wall is approximately 10'-0" long; ceiling is concrete. This is to hide an existing curtain rod.
3. Timeline: electrical work will be completed by Friday, February 12. Exact measurements may be taken starting on that day. Work ideally would be completed the next week.

It's an 80 year-old house with the original stair railings -- wooden hand rail, wooden post, wooden spindles. The previous owners painted the whole thing white. I'd like to strip all the paint off. The end goal will be to stain the hand rail and the post, and to again paint the spindles white (but now they are thickly and terribly painted)
I'd like to preserve them but if that's completely undoable then I'll consider replacing the railing, the post, the spindles -- the whole thing. So that's another option I'd like an estimate on.
I'd like to consider both options: price, difficulty, how long, etc.
Also we need this done as soon as possible.
I've attached some pictures of what our neighbors have done as we'd like to do pretty much the same. I'm the owner.
As you can see there are 2 separate spaces to create:
- 1 being a closet with doors: Flooring will need to be installed and ventilation pad showing will have to be moved as shown on the picture at the bottom. Electrical work is also needed but I have an electrician who can do it when ready and before drywall is put. We can coordinate between and m electrician friend who is licensed.
- 2 being a regular storage space under the stairs with doors too and flooring.
However we don't want any shelves installed in the closet.
Currently it's just plain walls.
PROJECT HAS TO BE FINISHED BY JULY 31st.
Hello,
We are looking to have to quotes for staircase railings to be installed from Upper Floor to Main Floor staircase as well as Main Floor to basement staircase.
Need to get the work done asap as we are expecting a baby and want to make the staircases safe to go up and down. Available in the evenings to come by to give a quote.
We have moved into a home in the north Toronto area and we would like to have our stair case redone.
Currently both the step and railing are painted. I would like to completely replace the bannister, spindles and posts. As well we will be replacing he current runner with a new carpet that covers the entire step.
It is a three story home and we have two flights of stairs going up as well as one flight going down.
It is not a curved stair case.
We can have the job done in stages with the bannister first and then we can look for a carpet company to come in later if you do not offer both services.
Thank you
Our staircase is currently painted, risers, bannister and pickets, and there is a runner on the steps.
We would like a complete revamp, oak steps, painted risers, possibly new bannister and pickets.
We are very anxious to proceed with this job and looking for someone who is experienced in doing this work as their main occupation. We are looking for someone who will be able to offer us options for our budget.
Hi,
I'm looking to replace the staircase (12 treads) Standard height 8 ceiling home. The current steps are destroyed and need total replacement.
I'm the project manager and I'm looking for a professional to help me on this project downtown Toronto.
You can reach me best by email or on my cell.
We just bought a condo townhouse, where the previous owner did some work in the basement. So far, we've had to reinforce 2 steps on the staircase to the basement.
We would like to find out how much it would cost to rip down the current staircase, and to rebuild them safely.
I am looking for online estimates only, at this time.
I have a four storey townhouse with four flights of stairs, approximately 13 steps per flight (9"x40" plank, with 5.5"x40" riser). I would like to rip up the carpet and replace with engineered hardwood or laminate. There is a wood post railing that runs along stairs and at two locations it is very wobbly, so I would like this fixed (not replaced).
Install Baseboards and trims
$500 Inclusive of all materials, baseboards, trims, quarter-rounds, and caulking.
Supply and install baseboards/trims/quarter-rounds along small staircase area, in small area of basement and in kitchen.
Start next week, 1 day job, pay cash.
Location St Clair and Old Weston Road, Toronto
My 3-level townhome has bay-like exterior section at the front, from ground to roof. The wood trim on various areas of this exterior is rotting. I'd like to have the damaged trim removed, the underlying checked for any unseen damage, necessary repairs to be done, and replace the wood trim with PVC and repaint to match. I also have 3 mouldings at each level that need repainting in the same colour. Also, there is an identical moulding above my front door that needs repair (the corner was chipped off by falling ice) and repainting. I can provide the paint, but I hope that you would be able to provide all other materials.
Hi, I would like a tree house built for kids in backyard over the next couple of weeks. They are gone for two weeks at the end of July and would like to build it in their absence (Week of the 21st).
I have the perfect tree. Or should I say 8 foot stump for the project.
I have attached a of pics of tree house (style) along with the tree that will be supporting it.
I am looking for something that blends into the back yard space, Natural looking, safe and sturdy (with a little hint of adventure), Keep out the critters like raccoons and mosquitoes while still providing airflow and ventilation.
Who can get it done for me?
Carlus
