We are looking to replace our existing fireplace surround and mantel in our New West condo (strata approval obtained). Our fireplace insert is relatively new (2 yrs) and does not need replacing.
For the surround:
We would be using Ledger Stone in Carbonclick here or something similar if recommended. The total area to be tiled is 1010 sq inches (~7 sq ft).
For the hearth, we would use slate tile (source: TBD). Total hearth area is approx. 638 sq inches (~4.5 sq ft).
For the mantel:
We're open to ideas. If the existing top piece of moulding can be saved, we would be okay with keeping it. Otherwise, we would like to replace it with something similar in style or more modern. The legs flanking the fireplace would be replaced with stone, or if it's much more cost-effective we would replace them with a more modern option. Material would be similar to existing. Dimensions of current top piece of mantel is approx. 61" x 9"
See attached photos for existing fireplace surround, and some rough ideas for what the new one could look like.
In summary, we would like a contractor to do the tile work for the surround + hearth, the millwork for constructing a new mantel (or sourcing a pre-made one), and the installation of the new mantel.
Budget is listed as "Uncertain" as I want to get a few quotes before deciding on a contractor, and assume that this will vary depending on the level of work (i.e. if we are sourcing and providing the materials or if the contractor takes that on).
Timing is flexible but we would prefer to have it finished within the next 2 months.
We are renovating kitchen with new cabinets to be installed January 19. We're looking for someone available the week of the 9th or 16th of January who can remove existing floor tile from the kitchen and main bathroom, and remove backsplash tile in main bathroom, and install new floor and backsplash in both rooms. We will supply the tile. The new floor tile is Julian Tile CLV136 and new backsplash for kitchen and bath is Julian Tile MWIR1224.
Hi
We would like to change our kitchen tiles for new one (glass tiles) sometime this month. I already picked up tiles and I'm looking for good work for affordable price.
How much does your company charge for the work and when you could possibly start / finish the work?
(We have now 40sq feet of the old tiles. So we might need same amount + waste)
Thank you very much for your time.
Hello,
I need an estimate for the following:
-the kitchen is a total of 170 square feet
-the tile is a 12x24 porcelain tile retailing @ 7.29/tile at Olymipia tile
-the layout is to be staggered
-the current flooring is linoleum (floor is level and undamaged)
-ditra mat anti-fracture membrane to be installed
-there are three transitions
Thank you!
Help!! My husband and I have a condo approximately 20 years old. There is a tiled shower with a 34" x35" base in the main bathroom. The measurement from the base to the ceiling is 77 inches. A few of the tiles have cracked and the material behind it has become soft. I looked for shower panels however I don't seem to be able to find the correct size.( I like the tile better anyway.) I would need to have cement board as well as new fixtues and door installed.
I need a contractor to tile the bathroom floor and the tub surround. Both are about 60-65 square feet each section. I will supply the tiles.
The work to also include (but not limited to)
- demoing the tile off the floor
- installing proper moisture barrier and cement rock for tub area and prepping area prior to tiling
We are open to suggestions as well.
Thanks
