Tyler and his team (Ben) did a fantastic job. This company clearly takes great pride in its work. The construction was methodical and efficient. All surfaces were covered as protection and they demonstrated great care and respect for our home. The finished product is beautiful. Thank you to Jeff, Maggi, Tyler and team for helping us restore our master bathroom.

Bates Renovations did a full renovation of three bathrooms in my home in Kanata Lakes along with tiling many rooms and installing hardwood stairs and new railings. My experience was very positive. The workers were professional, respectful, and on time. The owner of the company made himself present and reachable. If there was a potential issue, they would discuss the plan going forward with options. If I saw something I didn't like, either because I changed my mind or made a bad decision, they would change it for me and say "that's not a problem". The company does not cut corners, and I felt like I got the best quality possible. I enjoyed being part of the detailed finishes, they always asked our preferences. I am 100% satisfied.

Project proposal was reviewed and a fair contract price was provided, with a proposed start date and projected six week time identified. Some excellent plan suggestions were given. Start was on time. During work good communication as to activities to expect were provided. Work was done in a very professional manner, with care taken to minimize problems and maximize general home safety, cleanliness and decorum. The result was very high quality workmanship finishing. I am very pleased and happy with the project execution the results, which exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this company.

Jeff, Tyler, Maggie, Glenn and the entire team at Bates Home Improvements have renovated our bathrooms to perfection. We absolutely love how everything turned out and we really enjoyed working with them on these projects - they have had a lot of patience educating us on what can/can't be done, what works/doesn't work, provided prompt help and support along the way, gave us thoughtful options when we ran into issues, kept us in the loop even when we didn't fully understand all the words in the conversation and always being professional and courteous.

We were really lucky to find them and can't recommend them highly enough!

We were very happy with the work that Tyler and his crew did in our basement. The basement is gorgeous with a high end modern look. I followed the process along as the guys did the work. Tyler had lots of great ideas and always took our feedback into account.

I know that the work is as solid on the inside as it is beautiful on the outside. The team paid close attention to detail and made sure we were happy with the results.

We were especially happy with how clean the work area was at the end of each day. With our four kids and two cats, it was very important to have a safe and tidy work area each day at the end of the day.

We were impressed with the job Jeff and crew did on our ensuite - very professionally done. Everyone in the company was pleasant to work with, advising us when we asked for their opinions and doing a few “extras ” that we asked for. We feel their prices were reasonable and although the job took longer than expected due to problems with supply, that wasn’t their fault.

We would not hesitate to recommend this company to our friends.

We hired Bates Home Improvements to renovate our basement and we couldn’t be happier with our decision of hiring Jeff and his team.

I interviewed a few contractors before Jeff but as soon as I talked with Jeff I knew I found the right person for our job. I wished I could score Jeff and his team a 10 instead of 5 for their professionalism, responsiveness and effective communication, knowledge of their trades, workmanship, organization, cleanliness, and honestly. They delivered what they promised and I would even say that they exceeded our expectations.

We do not live in Ottawa, so proper communication with our contractor became extremely important for us. Jeff and his son Tyler explained their renovation process clearly and sent us pictures of the work in progress frequently. They replied to our questions in a timely fashion and met with us as needed when we visited our property in Ottawa.

Jeff and his team were flexible with our needs and wants when we ordered our materials for our renovation. They picked up our ordered items from any warehouse that had our items in stock.

I found them innovative in the way they operated and designed our basement. For example, we had a very small space under our basement stairs which we turned into a laundry room using three sliding doors - Having the three slide doors was their idea and it actually looks quite nice and functional!

Jeff never cut corners with our project and they were fair with their prices. They also were accommodating and flexible to work with the other contractors that we send to our property.

It was a pleasure to work with Jeff and his son Tyler. Their pleasant personality and easy-going attitude turn what could have been a stressful time for us into an exciting and pleasant time!
