I've been hearing about the people getting confused between quartzite and quartz. I'm familiar with quartz as I have one but not quartzite. When I click here to read about quartzite, I still come out confused. Is it good as they say? Is it beautiful and marble-like? What can you tell me about this material?
Very good question!
The simplest way I can put this is, Quartz is man made.
Quartzite is naturally occurring.
I tend to treat quartzite like a natural stone, avoid staining foods resting on counters or standing water on the counter for long periods, regular maintenance.
Quartz is man made and can be mixed with all sorts of goodness making it stain resistance, less maintenance and easily repairable.
I hope this helps!
seen a lot of slabs go in and quartzite is my favorite. i feel like quartz will go out of style in a decade and everyone i know has granite. Quartzite is my number one choice cause its beautiful and is one of the hardest material for countertops. but quartzite is still very porous, you'll need to seal it often. Also quartzite is very pricey.
