Hello,
I am looking to insulate my basement, the top half of the basement wall has framing and insulation on it while the bottom half is concrete. Not sure how to go about it, what I would like to do is pull the old insulation and put in spray foam insulation. I would like to frame the bottom half for it so I can spray foam it all. Not looking to finish the basement or put any dry wall up, just want to have it framed so I can insulate it. Any ideas on what this would cost and time it would take? Basement is around 1000 sq ft. Located in Pickering
it should cost approx 3500 materials included for the framing.
Spray foam insulation is the absolute best for basement walls so yes remove the existing insulation and while you're at it remove the half framed wall and reframe a full new wall to the complete exterior. Please note that all your mechanical Ruffins should be done prior to spray foam insulation being sprayed in or it'll be a nightmare trying to do your electrical and plumbing later and don't forget any surround sound or any future use. How big of nightmare we talking, was not looking to spend to much right now and wanted to take advantage of the insulation discount through GreenOn right now. Electrical I feel like will make it to high of a cost right now to incur.
