Few years ago had a contractor building a raised stone patio and recently due to freezing and snow the bricks at the level of the patio started to deteriorate. Asked the contractor if he saw or heard about this anywhere and if he has an explanation. Evidently he answers were no and no :-)

What options do I have aside from replacing the bricks? Is there any brick-height stone molding that can be installed and if so will it survive the same winter conditions?
