Hi

All good contractors always booked few months ahead of time. However you have to get some people that has a good reputation sooner better than later to price the job and are able to decide on which one you will proceed a head of time

Ei, I am not close to your area, but a general suggestion is to start as soon as possible. Most contractors are less committed in December through February but come early spring, the calls come in. Personally, I have been busy all the past year and am being selective now for jobs/projects that I can manage. Getting a general contractor that can manage all that you have suggested may be difficult. Another option is for you to pick and choose contractors for the various aspects of the build. More work for you, but it can be done. Do some serious thinking and start whatever project you decide on. Waiting is not a good option if you want things done within a respectable time.

I am booked about 8 months ahead in my area.

We do not normally take very big jobs which takes more that two months, so we can be available between 4-6 weeks period.

but you are too far to us. we will take the project if the price is fair.

Generally 1 - 2 months ahead can be expected although there are peak times in the season where this may be affected. Busiest time for booking is around this time when most homeowners are planning their summer projects. In my experience, if you want a reduced lead time, plan in late fall to early winter.
