Hi guys,
I'm hoping to pick the collective brain of this community....I noticed many of you share layouts, images and photos of your space on this forum to get help on design ideas from the community. Often I see that people will ask each other to add more pictures and layout drawings to give them a better understanding of the space.
I experienced this first hand when using a remote interior designer to help design my living room recently. The designer ended up picking some items that didn't quite fit in my room initially, because I just didn't give her enough information.
I was wondering if any of you have experienced this in the past. If so, I'd love to connect with you. I work in the field of 3D scanning and I've been researching ways to use regular old phones to create 3D scans of spaces as a better tool for designers to get a "feel" for a space.
Here's a video showing some of my work.

I was just hoping to see what you guys think about this and whether this could help interior designers or home renovation contractors capture better information about a space in an easier way.
Thanks so much for your help :)
I worked in tech (Programming and UI design) in my "previous life". I also have friends working in related fields that you are in. From a technical stand point, this is not going to be easy due to sizing and user behavior. The other thing is the fact renovation and interior design look good on paper but the actual may differ due to many different factors.
Hi Neil
Yes, this technology is pretty amazing. I see Realtors using it quite a bit now for show casing homes they have for sale.
Definitely would be an asset to the renovation industry. From scanning a room prior to a project start, showing a home owner changes in 3D and being able to show my team placement and notes in 3D
Cheers

Hi Dave, thanks so much for your reply! If you're willing, I'd love to have a quick chat with you sometime to get your thoughts on the technology and maybe show you more demos. Should I get in touch with you through your site?
