If a contractor quotes $7/sq' for tiling, is that including everything or just labour. Like is it 7/sq' plus tile cost.
Thanks

There are so many variables to consider. $7/sq ft is not that unresaonable for a skilled tiler to set and finish your flooring job. Without knowing the specs of the job its hard to give an answer. Your tile could be anywhere from $.50c a sqft to $100/sqft, so likely its only labour. Ask the questions you need!
Of course that's your labour only. The materials are extra.
Imagine that your customer will choose a tile that is $10-12.00 per sf ... What you will do ?

Good evening. 7 a sq ft sounds about right for labour as most of our tile prices range from 10 to 40 a sq ft...5 to 7 for labour is a good bench mark.
Hi Jeff,
$7.00 per square foot sounds like the labor cost only. Material will be on top. This rate is usually charged for large format tiles. The labor should include preparing and setting the sub floor to handle tiles.
Hi Jeff,
Unless it is specified "tiles included" , it means only labour. So when hiring a tile setter ask what's included? what about thin set, grout, primers, etc etc. Be clear of what to expect before the job starts.
I hope it helps.

Hi Jeff,
As you have read from all the other posts, it is a very good chance it is labour and maybe prep only. As Paul stated $7.00 is on the high side but price is really determined on size of tile and how many sqft there are. I guy isn't coming to your house for $4.00 sqft if you only need a 50sqft entrance done.
