One side of our home, the floors are slanting telling me we need our foundation to be leveled.
How much would this cost us?
If your house is typical for old Hamilton with the staircase off to one side of the house. It is usually the weight of the staircase and the center support columns in the basement that has settled. Resulting in the side of the staircase being the lowest point.
Depending whats needed, ballpark would be $5-10K.
If the whole house is slanted to one side, then the exterior foundation walls need to be looked at, which could be very costly.
Hi there, I do homes, specially buying and renovating older homes.
My advise as I do it all the time. Get structural engineer to review it, give you a report and recommendation to repair it. Then you can bring in contractors and get an exact estimate to do the work, or else the estimate will be all over as you have already got the replies.
Cheers.
