I want to turn one of my bedroom closets into a laundry with stackable washer/dryer, next to the bathroom.

How much would this cost, how difficult is it to do, and how long would it take?

There are a lot of variables for cost but maybe $1500-2500. It would take a week or two, depending on the company. The hardest part is getting the drains and water to the location, which will also be the biggest variable.

Are there usually a lot of complications? My house was built in 1993.

It's not a matter of complications. Your project is pretty basic. Like i said it's the pipes, how much drywall is going to be removed and repaired to run the plumbing upstairs?

Time is money, so the longer someone spends on that part, the higher the cost. If someone looks at your house they can then tell how much work is involved and give you an accurate quote.
