Looking to finish my basement. Located in the Garden Grove area, not too sure of size, average sized bungalow for the area. Have a lot of the materials purchased and sitting in my garage (ex. drywall, shower, toilet, vanity, paint). Looking for an estimate to complete this project and timeline.
I live in 1200 sq. ft. Bunglaow in the Westwood neighbourhood of Winnipeg, MB. The current basement is outdated, and I'd like to have it re-designed and renovated.
The current basement is 1200 sq ft. At the end of the day, I'd like it to have a Large rec room, office, laundry room, bathroom and storage room.
75% of the basement wall does not have framing or insulation. The remaining has very poor insulation. Also, I believe that some of snap ties in the foundation have rusted, and water is coming in through them.
Presently the basement consists of a stone foundation (circa 1911)that has been spray foam insulated and concrete floor. There is essentially a blank slate to work with. We are looking to have a bedroom and bathroom added. Any extra space would be for storage and possibly a small sitting/play area for children. The total basement square footage is approx. 600 square feet, although usable space is less.
Hello,
I am looking for a contractor to remodel our basement. House was built in 1992, basement is already finished. We want to partition the large open living space to make a new bedroom in the basement.
I am looking for someone to come take a look at our house and to provide a quote for the following scope of work:
-Removal of existing carpet.
-New wall framing and dry-walling.
-Electrical in new room.
-Modify HVAC duct work in basement for new room supply and exhaust.
-New lighting in basement.
-New carpet and/or laminate flooring in basement.
-Also potentially will explore expanding/remodelling existing basement bathroom to add standing shower.
Thank you,
Sean

We are looking for a contractor who can help us repair and lift our basement a about 1 foot 1/2 higher than it currently is. The project will most likely require the following:
-digging around house
-lifting the house
-total removal and construction of basement walls
-weeping tiles may need to be installed
-new drainage installed to gear water away from house
-sumpump installed
This project will require additional work with plumbing and electrical work. Other things that are listed not may also be required to be done. Looking for estimates at this time.
We can be reached after 6 p.m. or you can leave us a message any time during the day.
We are looking to finish our basement and would like to build two bedrooms, a bathroom and a large family/rec room. The basement is approx 1400 sq ft. Ideally our budget is $30,000 to $40,000. The basement walls were already insulated and wrapped by the builder. We would like to use vinyl planks for the floors and also have a sub-floor to keep the basement warm. Attached is a layout of what we are looking to do.
Basement of approx. 1550 sq. ft bungalow. Currently has 2 large living room spaces (one with wet bar), one office, laundry, storage and half bath. Would like to create one living space (man cave- wet bar optional), workout space, spare bedroom, storage and a full bath (add a shower). Would like egress windows, updated insulation.
Right now we are curious about approx. cost for the scope. Would be willing to do some of the tear-down and finishing. Financing is not in place.
Our house is a 957 sq ft bungalow that was built in the 70's. The basement has some mould, however the exact extent of it is unknown. We are looking for information on what is recommend to treat the mould problem, as well as estimates. The two basement windows need to be replaced. The one window leaks, and is one of the sources of the mould issue. We also discovered that one of our pipes (connected to the water meter, I think) has some condensation problems, or possibly a leak.
Our house is a 2 story 1942 house with a typical basement of the time, around 400 square feet, but I have not measured t exactly. The ceiling is low, it is always musty and basement smelling. It has a concrete florr and a sump pit, but it looks like the floor was poured in 2 sections because there is a space, not a crack, between the 2 sections.
We would like to make it an entertainment area for our soon to be teenages to have a TV, game systems, etc.
I am interested to know what the costs and practicality of removing the current concrete floor, digging down a foot or more and create a new floor, concrete or wood perhaps.
Also, an addition to the house was completed in the late 80's that added approximately 200 square foot living space on the main and second floors, but was buit with only a crawl space.
I am interested to know what the cost would be to dig a basement under this section to add to the basement space mentioned above.
If possible for now, please provide an online quote just so I have an idea of the costs involved.

Renovation for 1000 square foot basement. Requires remodel of existing bathroom. Currently has tub would like to replace with walk in shower, new flooring, new sink and cabinet, installation of exhaust fan. Existing back room storage and existing laundry room converted to bedroom and small space for laundry room. This would require installation of an egress window in this room as well as one other additional egress window in an existing room. Adding a subpanel to electrical would be required. Some additional finishing would be required in existing family room.
We would like a half bath and an additional room. Walls have been insulated. Require laminate/vinyl floors, drywall, whole ceiling (drop-down ceiling on one side), framing of windows (bungalow), storage space under stairs, electrical work for plugs & additional sockets (for entertainment unit/additional room).
I am looking to have a modification made to the basement of my early-70's house in order to accommodate friends who will be moving in. As it stands there are 3 Main areas in the basement in addition to a laundry/utilities/workspace. The basement is considered a "finished space" with newly installed Dri-core (subfloor system) and laminate flooring.
I would like to evaluate the possibility of adding a washroom in a (approximately 10'x6') area where there is no existing plumbing. This space is very close to the main water stack for the house, and conveniently located for hot water and electrical access. A closet off the main room would be converted to become the entrance to this new washroom with it extending back in to the storage space.
Ideally this would be a full bathroom with a corner shower, vanity/sink/storage & toilet. I would also be interested in discussing heated floors and efficient appliances. My initial thoughts are that I would like to see a polished tile floor and an overall contemporary/minimalist look in the washroom, however I am open to design ideas.
Please submit your ideas and best online estimates and availability for an on-site inspection and I will be in touch. Work can begin as soon as possible with an earliest start date of July 19th. Thank you for your time and attention.
Currently my basement is already finished, but it looks bad and not well-layout so I need someone to do the whole renovation. My basement is 1080 sq.feet, house is more than 50 years old, details in this project include demolition first hand, then moving the hot water tank about 3 feet away its current position, make 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a sub electrical panel (to provide more amps), a kitchen, suspended ceiling, flooring, stairs, 5 windows, also re-framing some area. That's what I think, but I'd like to hear more suggestions from people who know more about basement than I. My budget is about 30k more or less. If you think that is possible for you to do it then please reply. Thanks for looking!
1956 home, started renovating basement due to mold/insulation concerns 5 years ago, never finished due to young children. Need someone to come in and finish what has been started or completely renovate it. Would like plumbing moved to switch laundry room with bathroom. Drywall has been put up but needs some plaster work and addition of some framing due to new windows installed after reno was started. Would like a built in entertainment unit and wet bar. Would like to have a four piece bath installed.

My house is shifting on one side, I have got some contractors came over for inspections but every one give me different story. My foundation is OK no crack on it. I feel like my Basement Teleposts needs adjustment. I need help with someone really good in basement and honest to help me out, because I need to change my doors also before winter, but they are pending until I solve the shifting problems.
Bungalow constructed in 1980. Basement floor has heaved resulting in an upward movement of the main wood beam. All 3 teleposts are exposed an accessible. Interior basement walls have been removed. A string line was placed alone the length of the beam. At the center the difference is approx. 2.5" and approx. 1.5" at the other teleposts. Cracks had resulted in the walls and ceiling of the main level. A laser level was used to get readings of the beam, perimeter joist and the basement floor. I would like to get an estimate to start the lowering process of the teleposts and level out the beam. The center telepost will have to be removed for length adjustment. I am looking for setup, start of process and removal. I am willing to do some adjustment if possible.
