Hi there,
I take possession of our house on September 1st. We don’t move in until September 11th. The house is 1 year old. I want to have the carpets removed and disposed and have hardwood floors installed in the 4 bedrooms and the hallway. I am estimating about 1,000 sq. ft.
I will be buying the Vintage Hickory Black Opal flooring from a local dealer at $4.79/sq foot. It will be Vintage grade.
Can give me an estimated quotation on labour to install the hardwood, remove and dispose the carpeting and other items like door stoppers (shoe mouldings), nosings, transitions, and maybe screwing down the sub floors will be extra and discussed.
I am hoping to have this project started on September 2nd and will need a few days for the painters to come in and paint the entire house. Therefore, I am hoping the hardwood flooring installation will take 5 days max.
Thanks in advance,
Vince
We are closing a 4 year old house on August the 25th, it currently has 1 1/2 oak staircases. They are finished with just a clear coat.
We want to have the stairs , risers, posts, bannisters sanded and stained a dark color, and the spindles painted white.
Curious as to how much this might cost. If its within my budget Id rather have someone do it for me... otherwise Ill be doing it myself.
Would appreciate some estimates.
I am moving into a small semi-detached back-split home with hardwood floors on the first two levels. The floors need to be sanded and refinished.
As I will not be moving into the house right away, there is a good opportunity that the house can be totally empty while the work is done.
Please give me an idea of how much this would cost. I also plan to bring the contractor to the home in March to provide a better-informed estimate.
Thank you.
Our basement flooded. I need someone to remove and dispose of the old laminate flooring AND then install a new floor and install/re-install the trim (want to also include quarter round this time). The basement is 800 SF.
Would like to start the work week of August 5th. Looking for a laminate that matches the look and quality of our hard woods upstairs. Nothing 99 cents.
Thank you,
Franco

We have a leak on the wall in our basement. We are getting a waterproofing company to repair the leak. That means they will break a section of the drywall. So we will have a hole there. We need someone to put in a new drywall. Also, we need to replace the whole carpet in the basement (1,402 sq. feet) because there is damage to a small section. Or to steam clean it. Part of the bar needs fixing as well, where water seeped in. And we have tiles in the bar area. We want to change that to hardwood. Can you assist?
I need flooring replaced for a 1 bed and den condominium. I'm replacing carpeting with laminate flooring. I will need the carpet removed, taken away and the laminate flooring installed. The underlay and the flooring will be in the apartment. Most of the furniture will be moved. Square footage is approximately 435.
Good Afternoon,
I am looking to replace 1900 sq./ft. of flooring (mix of parquet, carpet & tile) with new laminate flooring. We will supply the flooring unless you have something better & can supply. The flooring is for 3 bedrooms (including closets), family room, living room, dining room and front entrance (includes powder room & main floor laundry room).
As for the stairs, we need them to be refinished to match the new flooring (grayish) and spindles to be in white (total of 50 spindles). The spindles can either be redone to white or if you have a white spindle replacement, we would be open to looking at it. We also have replacement white spindles in mind too. We can discuss which option to go with.
We are the owners of the house and need this job done before the end of October. Ideally anytime between mid-September to mid-October. You will have access to the house during the day (weekdays) and only have to deal with our cat (who will probably stay in the basement the whole time).
Drain line to AC unit clogged causing water to come out onto laminate flooring and damage the Baseboard and laminate flooring in Living Room, sun room and dining room.
Please see attached for detailed dimensions and condo rules to enable you to submit a quote . Site visit can be arranged if required. The condo is currently occupied
I am investigating the cost involved in installing laminate flooring in my condominium unit. The floor is concrete over which I currently have wall to wall carpeting. The floor area is approximately 800 square feet. Depending on the labour costs will determine how much of the unit I will re-floor at any given time.
I would like to have an on-line estimate of the cost to install the flooring. Is the estimate based on an hourly rate or a square footage rate? I have had a quote based on square footage. Does the cost increase/decrease depending on the square footage.
Thank you for your consideration.
Hi,
I'm a volunteer for a non-profit charitable organization. We are trying to build a school style gym for kids. We want multi-purpose hardwood floor with commercial grade basketball nets for kids. Please find the floor plan as attachment. We are looking for a company who has done this before and can share their past projects.
50's style three bedroom bungalow with a small three piece bathroom that needs complete updating. One small bedroom has some water damage to the hardwood floor which needs replacing.
Bedroom is 10x10 and approx. 25 pieces of the old hardwood needs to be replaced and refinished to match the hardwood through out the rest of the house.
Small three piece Bathroom needs complete updating including new tub and surround, new tile flooing and install of vanity & toiliet (we have already purchased the vanity, faucet & toilet)
we like netural middle of the road finishes, nothing too high end but nothing cheap either!
WE really like the look of subway tile for the tub surround and matching floor 12x12 floor tile. We are not too picky about colour but it has to match the vanity top that we already purchased.
We are looking for a contractor to replace our carpeted pine stair cases with hardwood, as well as the carpeted/parquet floors. Scope may expand to railings as well depending on design recommendations.
Rooms include three bedrooms (including closets), hallway, landings, foyer, dinning room, living room and two powder rooms.
My curved staircase is attached to one side to the wall and the other side has wood balusters and railings. There are 13 steps which are covered with carpet. I would like to get rid of the carpet and install hardwood on all the steps. Also I would like to change the appearance of the staicase by changing all the balusters (59), railings, posts (3) with something more modern. I am thinking if possible something like horizontally railing (see picture). In the second picture are the existing stairs.
We are looking to renovate the stairs connection our main floor and second floor, and redo the flooring on the second level hallway. This includes removal of carpet in all areas, stairs, risers, iron spindles, posts, handrails, baseboards, finishing etc.
There are 9 regular steps, 3 special ones (90c turn) and 1 first step is open on both sides. Each regular tread is ~41in wide and ~10in deep. Hallway is roughly 85 sq ft.
Hello - I am in a 30-year old townhome in west Mississauga. Because the parquet (i.e. original) flooring is sinking and buckling in some areas, I would like to get the following jobs addressed:
The parquet floor is shifting in my powder room and has caused plumbing problems; therefore I would like a new toilet, vanity and tile in the bathroom (4.4ft x 4.4ft').
The parquet floor in the master bedroom appears to be sinking in the middle; therefore the floor needs to be reinforced and i'd like laminate or hardwood floor installed (16.75ft x 10ft).
In addition, I had a leak in my upstairs bathroom in February; therefore I had a large piece of the ceiling in my kitchen cut to fix the leak. However, this removal revealed that a main joist had been previously cut (this may be the reason why floors upstairs are sinking). Therefore, this joist needs to be reinforced, and the ceiling patched up.
I would also love to consider having a second-hand, white dishwasher installed to replace the "dead" one in the kitchen....but this would be based on the quote on the above.
So this quote would need to include: new tile/toilet/vanity in bathroom.....new laminate or hardwood flooring in large bedroom; and hole patch/joist reinforcement in kitchen. Plus, dishwasher installation if possible. I would need you to provide all materials, as I'm not comfortable purchasing the necessary materials myself.
Many thanks.
Naomi
