Basement with one main room about 400 square foot, can supply laminate floors for materials, condition good but with 1/3rd of existing laminate bubbled from water damage, hence need for repairs. Should be straightforward but some corners and edges etc that would benefit from professional tools and experience. Quotes welcome?
i just purchases a town house, Ive removed the carpet from the top floor of the house and down the stairs. I'm looking for a quote to lay down 300 sq ft of hardwood or laminate flooring. And on the staircase I'm open to suggestions. The bathroom is roughly 8ft x 4ft I'm looking to have ceramic floor installed. The floor is currently a peal and stick. The house is roughly 17 years old. I dont think much as been done to it.. The ply wood seems to be in good shape. The house is being painted right now.

The carpets have been taken out and the floor has been cleaned.

Entire uniti is 1050 sqft, 2 bedrooms, 2 full washrooms, dining, living room, kitchen and foyer.

I have 2 staircases I would like converted from carpet to wood surface.
First stair case is 9 steps with no landing, hand rail leading up the stairs and 16 metal spindles at the top that I would also like replaced with different metal spindles...next staircase has 12 steps plus landing. 43 metal spindles which I would also look at changing to different metal style. Not sure if we can refinish the existing handrail instead of getting brand new? Pictures attached
I have about 20-30 strand-woven bamboo planks for flooring that I would like to have cut to fit within a room and also to fit along one small, angled wall and two vents. The planks are 72" long by 4" wide and 0.5" thick. I plan on penciling in the cut lines. Could I get an estimate on charges?
Looking to install engineered hardwood floors in 2 rooms with a total square footage of 376 Sqft. This a town house, and installation will be on the main floor. I already have the hardwood and underlying material. The installation service should also include removal of the existing carpet. Remove the baseboards and after floor installation re- install the baseboards.
This small renovation consists of two parts:
- Replacement of brick hearth for a full stone slab (main reason for the renovation)
- Removal of existing pre-finished jatoba flooring to be replaced with oak 3 1/4" strip flooring, sanded and stained.
The existing brick hearth is not rectangular (see pictures), 15 1/8" deep, back is 52" wide, front edge is 42" wide. The brick rises 4 1/8" above the subfloor, but the pre-finished flooring surrounds the hearth so it rises 3.5" above the flooring. We would like to replace it with a solid natural stone, perhaps a grey coloured unpolished granite. Note there is wainscotting on the right side that needs to remain undamaged. Since we will be replacing the flooring, we aren't worried about damaging the flooring.
The existing jatoba flooring was poorly installed (5/8" thick) with a lot of gaps. It must be removed, and replaced with oak 3 1/4" strip flooring. To be sanded and stained to match the rest of the house. The family room is 10' X 15'. We need online estimates to plan and prioritize the projects we will be doing this spring and summer, but will go back to those same contractors to provide a more accurate quote once we got closer to the expected project start. All materials to be supplied by the contractors. Stain used: Duraseal Royal Mohagany.
we are moving into a 4-year-old home in December and need some help solving our hardwood floor problem. The floor is approximately 1000sqft on the main floor only (living and dining room), and it was installed 2 years ago by a 'do-it-yourself-er' who was apparently the WORST handy-person ever, the middle of the floor seems fine, but all the outside edges and bullnoses (there are 3) are horrible - not cut properly, pieced together using tiny pieces of wood - nothing matches up or is flush; etc etc etc!). We think the job entails - replacing 1/4 rounds, rip up the outside edge wood pieces and replace those as well as the bullnoses and sand and re-stain the floor. We are not experts by any means but think this is the most cost effective way to go, as the floor is only 2 years old. We are looking for an HONEST contractor who will do the job on time and on budget and to the highest level of quality. Please e-mail me to set up a time to see the space and give a free estimate. Kim. Thank you for your time
Brand new home, ownership takes place in October 2007.
-Rooms to be completed with pre-finished oak hardwood:
Master bedroom including walk-in closet
2 bedrooms including closets
The overall square footage of the home is 1525 sq. ft.
I would like an estimate for the hardwood and labour.
Roughly around 800 sq ft in a condo, 80% area carpeted at the present moment. Carpet to be removed and replaced with new floor. Kitchen already has flooring but needs to be removed to maintain consistency in the suite.
Engineered hardwood is preferrable but may look at laminate. Too dark a flooring is not preferrable as walls are cream coloured at the present moment.
Site visit is recommended. Please bring samples (one with some grains, negligble grain etc)
Interested in hearing from contractors who have done lot of condo renovation.

I own a freehold, end unit townhouse. I would like to take up the carpet in my living room/dining room area and have hardwood flooring laid (the area is approx. 11' X 24'). I would also like hardwood put up my stairs which has 1 step up and the a landing and then a flight of stairs and then another landing and then another step up, the stairs are straight but they turn on each landing and there is wood rail spindles. I would also like hardwood in my upstairs hallway (maybe 5' by 8').
I have a long hallway from the front door to the back sliding door in the kitchen which I would like to have the floor taken out and put down ceramic tiles including in the kitchen and the powder room. This hallway is approx. 15' long. I am debating on having the whole hallway tiled or to put hardwood down the hall and just have the front entrance, powder room and kitchen tiled.
There is a half wall with eat up counter from my kitchen which looks down into my dining room which I would like to take down so that it would be open from my kitchen into the dining room. There is 1 step down into my living room/dining room.
I presently have hardwood flooring on the main level(Approx.1000 Sq.Ft).
Its creeking at places and is discoloured at places.I am not sure if I want to install scratchproof Laminate or hardwood .I have to make it as soundproof as possible,so that sound does not travel to the basement level. So,a sound retarding underpad is also a must.I am looking for contractors, who will give me ideas to achieve the above results within a reasonable rate.I would also prefer to buy material and labour from the same contractor.
Will require proof of insurance/license, so if you can produced, please do not respond.
