Walls (frame, drywall, corners, mud/tape, baseboards) will be needed in the following lengths (assume standard heights). There will be about 5 outer corners among them.
182", 158", 128", 101", 96", 84", 69", 56", 48", 46", 46", 45", 33", 32", 30"
Five (5) doors (with frame) will be needed within these walls.
A 130" sliding door will need to be installed, made up of smaller closet doors.
Approximately 210 sq. ft. of both floor and ceiling will be necessary in the basement. The floor should be levelled and covered in something cheap like vinyl. The ceiling should be a drop ceiling and will need to accommodate for some ductwork.
We have a few projects we need help with:
1- The kitchen needs a new range hood. We have purchased the hood but need help installing it. The one that is there currently is encased in maple to match cabinets. It vents to the roof so no ducting required.
2- Our basement bathroom fan needs to be replaced and the ducting for it connects with dryer vent and exits house together. They need to be separated. The ducting travels through a crawl space.
3- Our powder room needs a new fan.
4- Our freezer needs a water line to it.
5- We are also planning a major master bedroom and ensuite bath addition over the garage in the next year or two.
Thanks!
Hi,
I am wondering if we can get a quote for our back staircase. When we bought the house it was covered in indoor outdoor carpeting. It is concrete underneath that is cracked and chipping away. The railing is metal and is all rusting apart. We are wondering if we could get a quote for this. I would love something more modern that maybe even mixes stone or concrete with wood.
I have attached some pictures. Thanks.
Hello,
I'd like a quote to get an LVL / structural beam installed as part of my kitchen reno. I'd like to remove the wall between the dining room and kitchen, it's part of the original footprint of the home (1905) so I am assuming it is structural.
Thanks,
Brett
'Enclosed porch' (finished as a regular room) on side of old house is litterally moving away from house. A temporary solution is needed for the winter - the gap is quite large now. (Future permanent solution is to remove and rebuild but that won't be happening this year.)
For now, fill/patch/cover gap down sides and roof line.
Room is attached to house along one wall only.
Side of room needing most repais is awkward to access from outside.
Project can start any time before winter gets here.

Hi, I need a quote on some work to be done around the house. I need to have the garage door frame repaired or replaced, a patio door screen replaced/repaired, the kitchen countertop replaced, back splash installed in kitchen, and insulation replaced under a stairwell in the basement. I'd like this quote to be free based on a visit to the house.
Thanks.
We would like to creat an 8' opening through a supporting wall. Civil Engineer work is done with drawings available. Work inlcudes installing support beams and reinforcing brick pillars in the basement. House is 120 years old, but in great shape. Attention to details/finish is important.
Affiliated work includes removing a closet, closing a current door opening (remove moldings, install drywall), reinforcing the brick pillars in basement, Installing head beams (3 - 2"x12"x8') and support posts, install moldings and refinish floors in opening area.
Hi,
I recently purchased a typical wartime bungalow, built in 1945, in Ottawa's Carlington area. It's fairly typical of the style with minimal changes I think. I wonder if there are contractors in the area who have worked on these types of houses before?
I have dreams of major renos - eg, to increase the floor space, either up or out; re-do the insulation and siding (there is also asbestos stuff underneath the siding), add a front porch etc. There's not much of an attic and no soffit, so I thought that might need to be improved as well. I'm sort of completely ignorant about renovation possibilities, especially cost, amount of time involved, or best bang for my buck.
I'd love to see/read about past renos on simlar houses or have basic ideas tossed my way.
Thanks,
kim
I have a condo 4 bedroom condo with 4 floors and a basement.
Work i wanted done is to build a 4.5 ft X 8 ft washroom on a 4th floor master bedroom.
The piping would piggy back into the 3rd floor washroom.
electrical would like to see if it can be used on existing electric there
a standard toilet and 30" vanity with mosaic tiles above.
Shower is a Costco shower already purchased 2.5 X 4 i believe.
Would also like a ventilation fan, wanted to see if the ventilation ducts can be rerouted to use existing 3rd floor ventilation.
The washroom would use one of the existing closet to build on, plus the usage of the small foyer space just outside the bedroom.
One of the closet would be saved and extended a little to have a small walk in closet with an L shape rods for hanging.
Estimates i had are $3000 labour only.
Also would like to install 630 square feet of flooring, the flooring with be easy click strand bamboo (like laminate install), also the floors squeak, would like to remove the existing parquet flooring to fix the issue.
Cheapest quote i had was 1$ per square foot of laminate install flooring with removal of parquet. Look to see if i can get it cheaper as a set price rather than per square foot.
All the Materials i would supply
Finally would like to remove on the 2nd floor existing dry walls in the kitchen and across the kitchen (existing small closet is there and dry wall) and reroute existing electrical and one vent.
Cheapest quote i got was $300 per wall.
the measurement i think is 5 inch by 5 feet.
other wall is 5 inch by 3 feet.
Not sure if it's existing support structure there, but i did see other same units and some did remove them.
Other work depending on budget/price possibility would be:
Pot-lights
Small Chandeliers (Costo Brand) in room with existing light fixture
Rework of plumbing in the power room (the pipes run sideways from vanity to a wall, would like it to run downwards.
Please email if you can do the work at a better pricing, would like referrals of previous work as well
Thanks
Hello, there were some extensive water damages on the walls, ceilings, and hardwood floors at my commercial property caused by water leaking from the roof recently. Now the roof repairs are finished. If you could do the inside repairs, could you come over to give an estimate please ? Thank you.
Hello,
I am not sure if you provide this service or not; however, we are looking at a new entrance into our lower hall. We are specifically looking for a wheelchair accessible door with automatic door opener.
Our current door is 31€ wide and we have been told that it should be 34€ wide. Immediately to the left of the door is a large storefront type window. If possible would you also know of a sub-contractor that could fix the cement ramp at the same time?
Anyway I am looking forward to hearing back from you to see if you could possibly help us out and also possibly give us a free estimate for the work?
Thank you for your time,
David L

I have bought a house that needs more TLC than I thought. I need all new doors, stairs to the basement, 3 bathrooms upgraded, flooring in 3 smaller rooms etc etc.
The house is a trapper style cottage, 1986, wood throughout ,approx 2600sq ft.
Things have just been neglected such as trim not finished, not sure about insulation, if it is sufficient or not.
Basically everything needs looking at to make this a home to live in.
