We have termites.
Aetna pest control recommended that we tear up the concrete that rests up against our house to prevent moisture from encouraging the termites to enter.
I'd say it is a 1-2 day medium size job.
We have water proofing in the back interior but may need some membrane on the outside as well.
Please give me a call. I'd like this to happen before it gets to cold.
Thank you
Stephanie
Hello, I require work done that involves
-demoing and removing front concrete steps
-exterior waterproofing (approximately 30 linear feet, hand digging required, 5' to the footing)
-install a sump pump in laundry room
-tuck pointing and parging in some areas
-small concrete pad for new staircase, and small walkway
Two jobs, to happen at once as mentioned, to make easier as well and therefore possibly cheaper. These jobs are:
JOB #1) An 18' x 12' concrete pad in the back of our backyard to be the base of a yoga / writer's studio. One factor in this job is that the location of the pad is approx. 140 ft. from the street and there is no truck access or CAT access to the backyard. Materials have to be wheelbarrowed back there. Also, we will be purchasing a heating cable like this:click here
This cable needs to be installed, attached to the wire mesh, so that it's within the pad for the radiant heating.
I have had one quote so far and this is the work he intends to do:
Excavate and remove debris to suit
Install gravel base
Form raised curb around complete perimeter with cutout for door
Supply and install wire mesh and rebar as per building code
Perimeter of slab thickened as per building code
Place and finish 32 mpa concrete with air entrainment, smooth trowel finish
Excavate trench for electrical supply conduit to suit (this trench is from the house to the studio, roughly 80 ft. in length)
JOB #2) Installing a concrete floor and heating cable (as above) in a basement garage. Our driveway at the front of the house slopes down into the garage. This garage is being converted into a room in the basement and the driveway leveled (not part of quote unless you also do this work). The garage currently has an asphalt floor so this needs to be removed as part of the job.
Again, this is the list of intended work from my first quote:
Excavate and remove to a depth of 14 in. an area in existing garage approx. 19ftX11ft
Install new gravel base to suit complete with interior weepers as necessary
Waterproof interior with mechanical membrane
Underpin easterly back wall as necessary
Create new opening at rear of existing garage
Pour new 4 in slab allowing approx. a 6 in. drop from existing grades
Concrete 32 mpa placed and smooth trowel finish to suit
Pour new knee wall at front of garage to suit with rebar to pin to existing footing and adjacent walls
I would like a quote for both of these jobs, to happen preferably at the same time.
Thanks
We have a set of walk up stairs to our basement that are too narrow for code, and are too steep. The drain is on the final step because there is no landing, and I believe that isn't to code either. We would like to replace the stairs. The job would start early September if possible; when we take possession of the home.
