In Toronto, Eglinton West, we have a small old wood double detached garage only used as storage and shared with neighbors and wanted to get a quote to rebuild.
Rebuild a bit wider and with flat roof and wood rooftop deck and outside stairs from lower wood deck.
Also putting power, which currently is not in garage.
Permits etc. processes should be managed by contractor.

We have an existing garage that needs to be removed and we'd like to replace it with a car port (18x19) with a garage door that leads to it. The garage faces a laneway in the back of the house.
I've attached a picture of the existing garage which needs to be removed and a picture of the garage door leading to the car port similar to what we're looking for.
Please call or email at your earliest convenience. We're eager to start the project as soon as possible.
We would like to either renovate or rebuild our current two-car laneway garage. Currently there is an old wood frame garage in place with a concrete floor poured after construction. It is a small site (lot is 100 by 20ft). We would like quotes for both jobs as we understand City rules may have changed and one option may be better than the other. We are also planning to do some work ourselves (demolish/remove existing garage, electrical, finishing work--siding, roofing).
I have an older attached carport that was built with a continuous slope from the house top. Over the years the roofline has dropped somewhat on the outer edge of the carport. I need to raise the roofline on the outer edge to make the slope on the roof continuous again. The original support posts had not been cemented (the carport was built by a previous owner of the house), and we since have replaced the posts and cemented the base with a metal bracket to make placing new posts easier. We also added on a section with a significantly different roof angle (to allow for enough height to make it useful space), this may or may not be altered to match the entire slope, depending of feasibility and cost.
Code allows us a 3M high, lot width (25 ft) garage on our back lane preferably floating slab. To match depth of adjacent garage (app 20ft) with two garage doors on the lane (as close as possible to one side of garage so that other side can be used as workshop) and a large (possibly double width) door into back yard. Slightly sloped roof (not peaked) for maximum interior space.
The garage will be attached on the side wall of the house. (bungalow). The size will be 14' by 20', and 8 f high, and will have an exit door to the backyard. The front( around the garage door), should be built in bricks, the same as the house's wall. The rest in aluminium siding. To save money, I would prefer no foundation wall. If it's possible to plant steel posts instead, like the car ports have. The roof could be shingles.
Hi,
I was wondering how much (% of the contract) would I get as commission if I introduce you a job for a simple two door garage with a man door and a window (very simple) and siding and shingle roof?
There is an existing garage need to be demolished and replaced with new one.
No heated floor.
Please email me.
Thanks.
We have a permit to build a single car detached garage in a back laneway of our home in North Toronto.
The proposed garage is 310 squared feet.
Our preferred materials include Charcoal Borden Batten vertical siding and cedar on the East and West facing walls and any other material on the North and South Walls as these will be between two garages and therefore, not visible. Reference image of materials attached.
Additional Information:
-The East and West elevations are the only ones that will be visible since the other two sides will be sandwiched between other garages so these elevations (East and West) have to look great. For the other two elevations (North and South) appearance doesn't matter, for these sides they can be board, plastic, or whatever meets minimum code at the cheapest price.
-We also want to have running water and power in the garage so please include these items in your quote. We already have a sink with under cabinet including all necessary hardware/fixtures, we would like to put this under the window where it comes out a bit close to the neighbouring property on the north side.
-Our architect drew in a large sliding door that she was encouraging us to build, however, we are open to suggestion as long as the door doesn't open outward into the backyard or the garage as that space is quite small already.
-With regards to the concrete floor, we don't want the typical rough flooring, we will require the floor to have a smooth finish.
Hi, I am looking to build a garage, I have a limited budget so price is the most important variable. The garage will be at the back of my property, I will need the concrete pad (there is interlocking brick now) as well as the garage. The size needs to be about 12 feet by 20 feet. I am located in the Eglinton/Allen rd. area.
Thank you.
Nicole
We are looking to complete two projects:
1. Single car detached garage in our backyard where are parking pad exists. We have already secured drawings and a permit for this.
2. Replacing the floors on our 2nd floor as well as levelling off the floors in one of the bedrooms that has a lean due to settlement.
Please let me know when we can schedule a time for you to visit to provide a quote.
A very old one car garage needs to be demolished (although if it provides significant savings I could do that myself) and replaced with a new one. This work includes redoing the base/foundation of the garage. The garage will be cladded with vinyl, we haven't yet picked a style.
The specifications are available on drawings that were prepared for permit application to city of Toronto.
My budget is $15,000, with very little to no cushion for overage. I will provide picture to those who wish to quote.
Single car garage - design is completed, permit pending approval (submitted last week)
Alum siding, asymmetrical roof shingle/asphalt, single door to yard, small standard window, standard 7' car door.
Tear-down of existing structure required. No trees on lot.
Hello,
I am looking to construct a new garage on my property and I am in the process of obtaining permits and applying to the city with the help of my designer who prepared the layouts and drawings attached. Looking for a basic stucco finish on the outside of the garage. In addition to the garage, I am interested in re-doing my driveway which I would like to install electrical panels so the ice will melt in the winter permanently. I am assuming it would connect and be hooked up to a boiler in the garage. As currently my shed is in the place where the garage is to be located, I am looking for assistance in moving the shed once its emptied to the backyard of my property.
I am looking for a quote and estimated price.
I appreciate your time and let me know if you have any questions or need clarification.
Thanks,
Dillon
The corner of my garage was damaged when the garbage truck lifted the blue bin. The drain pipe and corner guard need to be replaced and the wood beam underneath which appears to have minimal damage needs to be assessed for structural integrity. If it is fine a pretty small job but if not obviously a much bigger job.
