I have purchased an older home in Toronto (circa 1950's) and the duct work in the basement is quite large and leaves little head room in some areas (generally within 10' of the furnace). I would like to renovate the basement and would like to have the duct work replaced by a shallower, space-saving design.
New a high efficiency boiler replacement, one that qualifies for the best government rebates, and also need removal of old oil tanks.
Person must qualify for energy rebate programs.
House is a duplex about 3000 sq ft. Need to heat two stories. No AC required.
Looking for great value solution.
Looking for a quote on a new gas furnace in a 1100sq foot bungalow (was installed 1995). We will be building up in the future and so that needs to be considered. We think a 60,000 btu furnace is the right size??... the piping has to be brought up to code as well as the size apparently is wrong (not sure what that means). We would also consider a humidifier as it is very dry in the house. We live near Allan Rd and Eglinton.
We have a budget of $2000. Please provide rough estimate and furnace brand when providing us with a quote. We are looking to have it installed over the next 2 weeks.
Thank you.

Hello,
We would like to convert our oil system to a natural gas system.
We have recently been approved for the Toronto HELP program and are looking for estimates for the following:
1. Conversion from oil to natural gas
2. Removal of oil tank, oil burner and electric hot water tank
3. Installation (based on recommendation) of a combi or tankless hot water system
4. Installation of a zoning system for more efficient radiator heating
5. Installation of an ductless/mini-split air conditioning unit for the main floor
Please note that we have radiators in our home and the recommendation would have to keep that in consideration. Also, we are adding a second floor to the home in 2016 and the air conditioning unit would have to be expandable in the near future.
Thank you.
We are adding a third floor to our semidetached house. We have paid for a professional HVAC design (available on demand) to have a new heating and cooling system on the third floor to service the 3rd (new) and 2nd (existing) floors. We are looking to contract installation of new system, duct work as well as getting the gas line to the third floor from the existing line (basement).
Seeking rough quotes to install a tankless water heater, AC system, and hydronic radiant heating system in a 3-storey home in Toronto. Home is 2700 square feet plus 900 sq. ft basement. The house design is not yet finalized, but will have this layout at a maximum:
Basement - Bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room.
Ground floor- Open plan, Living/Dining room, kitchen and powder room.
Second floor- Three bedrooms and two baths.
Third floor- Two bedrooms, one bath
Home currently has walls framed and subfloors are in place. No drywall has been installed yet.
I need to have two radiators ( I already have) installed (connected to the main pipes) in one room of the basement and one bedroom on main floor (bungalow type house). I do wish to have this job done immediately before the end of this week.
Please advise cost involved and your availability for this week.
Thank you
large duct running parallel to main support needs to be moved. it is a 91 year old house with low ceiling in basement (approx 73" with portions lower, 62" due to ducts and main wood support beam, running down the middle of house, resting on brick pillars). need to see where the duct can be rerouted to ( the other side of the support beam, away from the furnace. the other option is closer to the wall where the furnace is located, but there are gas lines running near to there).
We just bought a house with a brand new Hot Oil Tank but we're changing to a Gas Furnace so we would like to have the tank removed. The tank currently sits above ground in the basement underneath the stairwell. The staircase is wide enough so the tank doesn't need to be cut. All wires, tubes, liquid must be removed and proper document provided so we can supply to Insurance Company. Please advise how long that will take as we would like to have this done before moving in. Projected start date of June 1st.

Hi,
I am a Designer and Project manager for a total home renovation downtown. I need to get some quotes for a total house HVAC repair and detail cost with labour and materials. The home needs new ducts, furnace repair and new air conditioning.
This townhouse is located Broadview and Eastern Ave, area.
I need to do the work asap and if that doesn't work for you, I understand and will call on you next time.
Thanks,
Judy
I have vents in my home that need to be completely replaced. They are in the first floor ceiling and basement ceiling.
There's two reasons they need to be replaced:
1. When the fibreglass insulation was installed, it was not protected from the vents and we are experiencing allergies when the vents blow at the insulation.
2. There was someone who was supposed to take care of my cats when I was on vacation for a month. They did not do a very good job and the cats peed into a lot of the vents and we could not get it cleaned properly.
I understand it is a big job because all the drywall needs to be replaced and the crown mouldings. If I can get an estimate as soon as possible it would be great, as I have to get a loan from the bank.
Want to install a new high efficiency furnace and a high efficiency air conditioner.
House - 2000 sq ft.
Currently have a mid-efficiency furnace and 15 yr old a/c.
May have to change/modify some ductwork in the furnace room to accomodate the high efficiency furnace and a/c.
Would want all work to be done as per code.
Reputable brands with solid warranty only.
My existing laundry room (in the basement) has incorrect duct work (flimsy white plastic) that runs from the dryer through the exterior wall out the side of the house. We recently learnt this was a fire hazard, so we want to replace the existing duct work with metal. I have already bought the materials, and just need the labour completed (removal of existing duct work including highly likely cutting of wall, replacement with new materials including new vent on exterior wall of house and patch-up of the drywall).
Currently, the distance from my dryer to the wall is approximate 1.5 feet, and the duct distance inside the wall to the exterior is about 5 feet.
600 sq ft basement. two ducts, one of which for sure is furnace (perhaps both) run transverse to floor joists and lower effective height of ceiling from 6'6" to 5'11" See my other project for further details- I would like to hear from a HVAC pro about the "moving the ducts" alternative. Also, would like to hear the pricing - possibility of installing anew 3-ton compressor for the AC - exisitng unit does not sufficiently cool top floor.
Strongly prefer an estimate this week -Etobicoke-York area. Project is CMHC "Plus Improvements" -funded - so all funds are released only at completion of work (i.e. 100% of payment at completion), a written estimate is required, and work needs to be completed by September 27.
that said, we are very motivated to complete this project and look forward to hearing from you.
