I am looking for a contractor to renovate an unfinished basement in a newly built town home (duplex). Required work is framing, electrical/lighting, heating vents, insulation and drywall.
The room is rectangle with measurements of 182.5" x 210.5" and a ceiling height of 92.5" however a bulk head will be needed around heating. The room is roughed in for a downstairs bathroom but this is unneeded and would like to have the hookups cut and covered
Painting, flooring and finishing will be done by home owner.
I have an unfinished basement in a duplex built in 2016 with a separate side entrance. I have drawings from the builder for a basement suite and I'm looking for a quote for contractors to complete some of the larger portions of the project including framing, electrical, plumbing, and drywalling. The space is 705 sqft and the plans include a one bedroom/one (full) bath layout with a kitchenette area.
Ceiling height from the concrete to the ceiling joists is 8'8" so not quite 9 feet. The two windows are 60"x24".
All basement walls are insulated with vapour barrier and the firewall between the units is drywalled as well - although this wall was not wired for electricity when the drywall was put in.
For a quote we are looking for an estimate for framing interior walls and drywalling (including mudding and taping), and running electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. We intend to include a sink in the kitchenette, toilet, bathtub, and sink in the bathroom, and washer and dryer (will need to consider hookups and vents). We'd also like to include an electric range and refrigerator in the kitchenette. At this time we are not looking to include any fixtures, painting, flooring, cabinets or appliances in the quote.
Thanks
I am seeking an estimate for my unfinished basement of roughly 600 sq feet. I have a new built home which will be ready for possession sometime between this year end, and January of next year.
The house is located in SW of Edmonton, and I am hoping for a 1 month timeline for completion of the basement.
It would be ideal if the basement is finished before I move in. I am looking for laminate flooring and to install additional heating in the basement.
I intend to have a tv room and an open plan for the rest of the basement.
I recently bought a home which had an illegal secondary suite, which I am now looking to legalize. I have not had the building/fire code inspection yet, but have an idea of some of the things that would need to be done. I will need to finish the ceiling in the furnace room to meet fire code. I am told that a certain type of fire retardant insulation can be used in areas where it is too difficult to drywall. As well, I need to have smoke detectors wired in that are connected between the main floor and suite. The suite has adequate sized windows, ceiling height, etc. to meet code.
I realize that is likely not enough information for an estimate, but perhaps a range from best case scenario to worst case scenario? Thanks!
We want to remove the utility pole in the basement by putting up two support beams in its place. We currently have the two support beams in the basement to be put in but just need someone with some know how. Afterwards we would like the supprt beams to be finished with drywall and paint. We also have the paint on hand.
We are looking to do a basement renovation for an area about 1,000-1,100 sq. ft. We are looking for just a basic layout of living area with one bedroom and washroom and a furnace room. The house is pretty new, no more then 10 years old it was built by AVI homes. We like to get started asap.
