40 year old home in Riverbend. We have a basement that needs several "re-dos", most notably a bathroom reno that requires a new, larger footprint, laundry room upgrade, ceiling tiles to replace.
This is not a huge job, and we have generous time lines -- must be done by Feb 2014. There are numerous other "little" upgrades we would like you to quote on -- fixing a closet, possibly new doors, window wells.
We have a house built in 1978. Our basement is finished, and our office does not have a window in it and we would like to convert it into a bedroom. The window that we want will only need to meet the codes (size) It should be above grade and not need to dig down... I think. We can/will supply the window to be used. ( it will be new )
Depending on the quote we would like to start construction ASAP
Our basement is half complete after the contractor we hired from this website decided to quit the job.
The work remaining includes:
- Shower completion
- Toilet and vanity install
- Baseboard and trim completion
- Mud and fix 4 Window frames to be straight with round or sharp corners
- Vinyl plank on platform/stairs/washroom
- Painting/Staining Furnace floor
- Drywall completion (sand, mud, paint as required)
- Some Electrical work
- Painting walls / paint touchups
- Door completion (drill and install door handles / hinges)
- Heat vent covers
- Install 3 smoke alarms
- Furnace cleaning at completion
- Anything else I missed can be discussed.
Please provide references / pictures of previous work when you contact us. Thank you.
(We will be looking for additional work to be completed in the future as well, ie. Deck, Fence, Pathway, Shed)
We just bought a brand new house in November and we would like to develop our basement.
We'd like to have a bathroom and one room, and then right beside the bathroom we'd like to have a storage room (this is also underneath the stairs). We'd like to have carpet in the basement as well. We are not expecting a fancy basement since we are on a tight budget. It is approximately 800 square feet, I think since our house is measured as approx 1600 square feet (we have a 2 storey house).
We prefer to go for a company that offers financing.
Please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your time!
Project involves finishing of an open concept simple design half basement area (approx 800 Sq.Ft). Framing and insulation is largely done. We would like a spare bedroom or study (with closet), pantry (with lots of shelving), a sink, toilet and optional shower put in, preferably with a Saniflo system to avoid breaking concrete floor. The furnace room needs to be framed in. The main area (about 400 SqFt) will remain open, to be used for entertainment only. We would like to have a large pull-out dolly (on casters) built for storing materials under the crawlspace hidden away behind doors. Main work involves: Dry walls including ceiling, some areas to be framed depending on design, pantry to be built with shelving, bedroom closet, bathroom, storage dolly for crawlspace, some minor electrical, plumbing work. Paint walls and ceiling, wall to wall Berber carpet. Start date flexible but project must be completed in 1 month or less from starting. Design ideas and site visits welcome. Happy to answer any questions or provide pictures or floor plan of the area, if necessary.
I am looking for complete basement design and development on a house built in 2007. Total house sq footage is about 2200 sq ft. Basement development will be about 800 sq ft. The development must include a bedroom, a bathroom and an office.
Looking for a contracting company that can undertake all aspects of the work including electrical, plumbing, drywalling, ceiling etc. Contractor will be reponsible to secure all permits.
I am a property owner with an unfinished basement requiring development. We would like to develop the basement adding one new bedroom, a 3-piece bathroom (vanity, toilet, and shower/tub), and then open space throughout. The Mechanical Room will remain unfinished. The approx square footage requiring development is 725 sq. ft. Our home was built by Sterling Homes in 2015, with engineered hardwood and granite counter tops. We would like to maintain the hardwood and granite counter top look in the basement, as well as have similar finishings that Sterling homes installed when building the home. Our budget is $20,000 and are open to hear suggestions to make the project fit within this budget. Ideally would like the project completed by July 31, 2018. The contractor must also apply for development permitting and ensure the project complies with city regulations, building codes, and other requirements.

We are looking at developing our basement (approx 530 sq. ft.) We are gathering quotes right now and need them before Sept 1st. We get possession of our new build home on Sept. 22 and would like to start the project as close to that day as possible.
Two attachments - Plan1 show "original plan" and Plan2 show the small change we would like to make.
We would like the finishes to match the rest of the house if possible. We have built the "Tristan" floor plan with Homes By Avi and we can get a list of finishes if/when necessary.
Our basement development: 1 bedroom (carpet-upstairs has 10lbs underlay), 1 bathroom (w/shower, toilet, pedestal sink, tile all the way up, and vinyl flooring) entertainment room (carpet) wet bar (sink, 5' counter with lower cabinets) laundry room framed in (vinyl flooring, barn style door) We would like the basement as sound proof as possible.
Hello,
I have a partially developed basement where I would like the basement to be finished. Right now I have the walls and ceiling done to a ready to paint state. I also have electrical done on the perimeter of the walls. I would now like to add a bedroom, a bar area, a bathroom. These will need to be walled, drywalled etc. The bathroom will need some work done to the cement to move existing rough-ins.
The bedroom will need new lighting with switch installed along with the bathroom and additional plugs for both. Lighting already in the ceiling will need to be moved to accommodate the new bedroom.
All new lighting should be pot lights.
The bar area will need plumbing, cabinetry, undermount sinks, quartz countertops. Cabinets will only be along the wall with one row on the bottom. No top cabinets. Cabinets should roughly match existing cabinets.
The washroom will need plumbing, vanity with drawers, undermount sinks, quartz countertops. Shower with acrylic base and tiled walls.
Chrome finishing for all taps.
Doors installed for bathroom, bedroom and a door for the crawl space under the steps.
Trim to match the existing home.
The flooring will need to be installed with Luxury Vinyl Plank.
All the walls and the ceiling will need to be painted...a flat ceiling is desired.
