We are moving in a 1940s house (3 stories, 2400 sq ft) on May 30 and:
We need to upgrade a fuse box to a breaker panel in a garage
We need to add breakers to an existing 100 Amp breaker panel (2 breakers needed)
We need to move fridge and add an outlet for it
We need to install a dishwasher (currently none existent) and add an outlet for it
We need to install an exhaust fan (currently none existent) and add an outlet for it
We also need to ground some outlets on 2 of the floors.
I have a 40 year old home with original 100 amp box. I need to do some re-wiring, clean up the box, move a 40 amp stove power from upstairs to downstairs and put a 120 volt to where the 40 amp stove power was so I can run a Gas Range and Oven. Install recessed lighting and do some overall general clean up as I have several 'hidden' junction boxes in the ceiling that are not being used. I have pulled down the entire basement ceiling so everything is exposed. On top of all this I have a sub-panel powering some other areas of the home which I will need to clean up as well.
I'm looking to start and finish this ASAP. I have previously lined up two other electricians only to have the first one taken out by a sports injury and the second had to put me off until he finished another job which is taking longer than expected. The previous two electricians have estimated the work to take approximately 2 days and I was willing to pay an hourly rate for work done.
I would like to get his project completed ASAP as I have everything on hold until I finish up my electrical work. The best way to approach this would be to contact me and come over to have a look. I'm sure that at this point me trying to explain anything more would just confuse everyone :)
Thank You
Jason
I have some random electrical projects that need to be done at my house. The list includes:
- under cabinet lighting repair
- hood fan repair
- 30amp outlet installed on exterior
- outside lighting work
- few other odds and ends
I don't believe it is more than one days work. You will have to let me know.
Our finished basement currently has some ceiling lights that we would like to replace with pot lights. We are looking to replace 2 ceiling lights in different rooms with approximately 12 pot lights. The work will also involve separating one light switch into two with a dimmer. It also involves patching up the textured ceiling to remove or minimize any trace of the original ceiling lights.
We are also looking to add approximately 4 pot lights in the living room in our main floor which would entail drawing from a distant, existing ceiling light. This would also require fixing the textured ceiling after installation of the pot lights.
I'm claiming space from an adjacent closet to make space for a stacking washer/dryer to go behind the bathtub (in the photo I've chalked out where the opening willbe where the washer/dryer will go).
I'm looking for a plumber that can tie into the bathtub water lines and drain (with care taken to ensure the washer drain water doesn't backflow up into the bathtub).
I will also require a 120V outlet (for the washer) and a 240V outlet (for the dryer) installed. We had a second electrical panel installed 8 years ago, so it should be all good on that end.
I will be opening up the closet area starting on the 13th of March, so sometime soon after that would be ideal for me to get the plumbing and electrical roughed in.
We have added an approx 600 sq/ft addition to the main house. The foundation and main structure is complete but the interior is still only roughed in. We have lost hope that the contractor we hired initially will finish the job.
Main things to be completed:
electrical
insulation
bathroom (currently only roughed in)
drywall
paint
Hi there,
I'm looking to install two ceiling fans into a couple of bedrooms and a blower fan for the bathroom (it get's very humid during a shower because there is no fan).
If I pick up the fans, do you know roughly how much the installation would cost? I live close to Coquitlam Centre.
Thanks a lot!
I live in a 40 year old typical Coquitlam home. It features a fuse panel, which we would like to have upgraded to current standards. We also have a service line running from the house to the hydro pole which has too low of a clearance level, so it would need to be raised with a mast/pole.
I may also need help in updating a few of the electrical switches/outlets and a few lights.
