John, provided me the proper advise on the correct material to use on my floors. He presented me with options and guided me down the right path to make the right decision for my basement. John helped me put my mind at ease given the costs that were involved. John also provided me with good advise on other parts of my basement project. It's been a please working with John since I started this project back in September 2015.

Toro Construction is excellent at what they do. Toro's team are professional, patient and courteous and the quality of their work is always done to spec. They go above and beyond to suggest ways in which the job can be completed which is appreciated as we are a small organization with relatively small budgets. If we were to suggest one thing that can be improved, it would be communication and replying to emails or correspondence in a more timely manner in order to get the job going. Often we send an email outlining the work for which we seek a time to meet to discuss and sometimes is could be a week or more before we hear back. We do know he is busy and so our timelines often don't match and we can appreciate that. Overall VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT work! Thank you!

We were very pleased with the trades people that did the work in our basement. They were professional and did a job well done. From the painters to dry wall to cabinetry to electrical they helped create a space that we can enjoy for years to come.

John and his team were professional, courteous, responsive, and on schedule. I liked how John listened to our needs, and then offered many ideas and suggestions on how we could transform our new townhouse into the home we imagined. John had the experience to know what would work, what wouldn't, and how to avoid pitfalls. All work was of very high quality, and John kept us updated frequently, and was always available to answer questions and respond to new requests.

TORO renovated a condo for my mother-in-law. John, the owner of the company, gave a quote and kept to the amount discussed from the start to the finish. There were no surprises as everything was documented in full and stipulated in detail. He was thorough and meticulous and everything was done well. We were happy with the work and especially with the results.

Everything is easy with Toro Renovations, just tell them what you need done and they will take care of everything from beginning to the end. All of there work is timely, professional left me completely satisfied with the service. Guests are left in 'aww' with there work.

They built a brand new washroom in the basement that looks just amazing. And renovated my basement with pot lights and everything. I did not lift a finger.

Toro Renovations has done quite a number of projects for OCLS and has always found the quality of their advice and quality of their work to be excellent. The work included construction, finishing, electrical and some outdoor work. The company has always been reliable and professional. I have worked with many general contractors in the past and I must say that John De Toro is truly one of the best! John was able to diagnose a wall issue that 3 contractors previous to him had failed to rectify including the Builder of our home! John and his teams work was efficient, thorough and of the highest quality. I will absolutely use and refer John out to my best clients, friends and family.

John, Tomo and Duncan were great to work with. Took 2 days and they cleaned up extremely well afterwards. Will definitely consider John and his team for future projects.

John and his guys did a great job removing our old, detached garage as well as removing the concrete pad and part of our driveway. I was simultaneously dealing with a death in the family so I had no time for hand holding and John just handled everything. Including talking to my neighbors to arrange bin drop offs and everything. When they started to remove the concrete, it turned out to be far thicker and stronger than expected. It took longer than expected and more resources but John stuck by his quotes and ate the extra cost. All in all, fantastic all around. Would use him again.

John and his company finished our basement renovation. He also gave suggestions regarding the design layout. He had highly qualified people do the work. We could not be happier with the results. John was readily available to discuss any questions we had. Work was done in a timely fashion and they took pride in their work. John was like a family friend to us. We would highly reccomend him and his company. He is a prince among other contractors. We plan to use him again and would not think to use anyone else. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

This was the first time I did a major reno on our home, and thank heavens our realtor recommended John's services. From the get-go, he was excited to work on our project, submitted information, quotes and contacts for suppliers on time and was generally extremely professional. He also was patient enough to explain various aspects of the project to me (the newbie) in detail - and I've never done more than screw in a lightbulb on my own before. He is very organized and returns phone calls, and his crew is also extremely professional and friendly.

We were doing renos while planning a wedding (and subsequently, a surgery), and having John around taking care of things really took a huge load off our minds. He really went to bat for us with an errant supplier, and generally went just above and beyond the call of duty to help make our lives easier. I would definitely recommend his work, and will be using his services for all future projects.

I used John to build a detached garage - he was referred to me by a neighbour who also used him to build their garage. He was professional and got the job done on time - it was the first time I'd hired a contractor and I was happy with his work - he handled everything and it was hassle free for me! I would hire him again.

My wife and I bought a house with a huge question mark attached to it, there was rotting in the wood sill which as a foundation issue can lead to a major expense to repair. We liked the house a lot and were given enough incentive to buy that we rolled the dice. John came in, assessed the job and the informed me step by step what was going to occur. The next day his excellent crew came in and got down to business. They were efficient, highly skilled and fast. The job was over before I knew it, cleanup was perfect and the bill was a lot less than we had anticipated. I would recommend them to everyone!

This was the first time I worked with Toro Renovations and it will not be my last if I need work done again. I bought my house in the Moore Park neighbourhood in Toronto in 2006. The house needed a large renovation, which was quite a stress since as a first time home buyer I knew nothing about the process and also who to trust. Fortunately, a friend referred me to speak with John De Toro of Toro Renovations, since he had utilized Toro for his own home renovations and had a good experience. I contracted John for our 6 month roughly $100,000 renovation. John & his Toro team did a terrific job. The work was performed on-time and as promised. 5 years later everything that Toro worked on is still in good condition, and we have been repeat customers in recent years we have continued to hire Toro with additional updates. My relationship with John is definitely long-term, and I expect to hire him again if ever our family moves to another home.

John was given a magazine picture of what I need to be done at the side of my house. He replicated it thoroughly. No only did he do an excellent job he did it the time he said it would take to be completed. there were no hidden or additional costs to his quote both supplies and labor. This job was done 4 years ago and I have not had one issue with the pathway that he created for our house. I would highly recommend John and his company for any of your renovation needs. He is very professional and is highly concerned about customer satisfaction.

I recently renovated my kitchen with the assistance of Toro Renovations. Being a decorator by trade, I found John to not only exude extensive knowledge of all facets of the industry but also his impeccable customer service skills ensured perfection throughout the renovation project. I have worked with several contractors in the past, however, John's dedication and perseverance to complete the task at hand within the desired time frame only reiterates his exceptional ability to provide customer satisfaction.

I had new baseboards installed and I was impressed with the suggestions offered to me and the quote provided. The carpenters were professional, fast and clean. The cutting was precise and the result was perfect baseboars. I would definitely use this contractor again.

John de Toro has done quite a bit of work for us and we couldn't be more pleased. He put in a new kitchen for us, along with a family room reno. This involved electrical, flooring, new ceiling, crown mouldings, etc. His advice along the way as we chose tiles, counter, etc. was invaluable. We had him put in a waterproof basement floor, re-do a small bathroom and construct a walk-in closet. We are extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend him to our friends.
