Approximate cost to raise a 25 x 30 cottage and add a basement

We are looking to increase the space on our cottage in Simcoe County and were trying to figure out if we should raise it and add a basement... t currently has a 4 foot crawl space. Or if we should just add on a 600 sq. foot addition. I know there are factors that can influence the final amounts, but just looking for a ballpark amount to see if we should even consider the project.

Hi Steve,
Adding an addition is probably a more financially conservative option if you have the space. A project like this can cost you 120 to 150k.

I myself would add an addition.
This is based on my experience with the depth of the bedrock. Plus getting the proper equipment set up to build and excavate below is a waste of funds if you have the land to allow an addition.
