- House built in 1978, original 2nd story bathroom (measures 8'x5')
- Have a 3 piece MAAX acrylic showertub for installation
- Bathroom is on second floor, requires removal of steel tub
- Would require removal/reinstall of vanity
- Doorway is adjacent to shower area, some water damage to king stud+ subfloor
- main floor living room ceiling provides access to underside of subfloor
The bathroom we would like to have redone is a small bathroom that presently has a tub (smaller than regular size tub), toilet and sink. The room is approximately 8 feet in length and 6 feet in width. We are hoping to have the tub removed and a walk-in shower installed with ceramic tiles versus a shower stall. There are two bathrooms in this home, one upstairs and one downstairs. It is the downstairs bathroom in which we would like to have the work completed.
We live in Thompson, Manitoba and have purchased this home in Winnipeg for our 2 children that are presently both University students. We are hoping to contract out the entire project. Our son is presently the only student out of 4 working in Winnipeg over the summer so we are hoping to have the project completed before University Session begins after the Sept. Long Weekend.
We look forward to your response. Thank-you, Laurie and Willy M.

Owner of single bedroom condo unit from 1960's
Floor in small 5 by 5 bathroom under toilet is spongy and need's complete replacement. Strip to the concert base and replace with spc waterproof vinyl.
Replace toilet with a new one around 200$ price point.
Vanity to be replaced with already purchased vanity and the current sink top to be reused with it. Mirror and lighting above vanity to be replace as well.
Also would like create a pop off panel at the back of the vanity as it is needed to access the water shutoff vales for the bathtub that are in the wall.
Will also need damaged panel of drywall behind the vanity and toilet to be replaced, about 5 feet wide.
I would like to do a reno for my daughters condo bathroom, could you give me a ballpark figure we will supply the vanity and toilet is new. We would need new tub ,shower ,tiling around tub, tiling floor I know this is vague just need to know if she can afford it at this time.
Thanks,
Ken
We just moved into an older small West End home and would like to update the bathroom. We would like new drywall, a plug-in added and an exhaust fan. Reframing or encasing a window. Tub surround and insert (this can be done by bath fitters). New toilet put in. Installation of an existing IKEA sink and vanity.
Hi there,
I have a small job to be done. My boyfriend's bathroom NEEDS to be partially redone. I am putting in new floor and a new mirror and vanity (i have all these things); i need someone to install them. I presume the toilet must come off and go back on, and the old vanity and mirror must also be taken off the wall. The bathroom is tiny...no bigger than 5'x5' and the house is in Charleswood. If the work is done well, there could be a bathtub install in the future.
Please contact me if you have experience with bathroom renos, have references, and are interested in the job.
Thanks,
Alison
Our bathroom was not properly sealed and we have leaking behind and under the tub and shower. Definitely need to replace tub and shower, possibly toilet and sink as well. Floor and walls need redoing. Would like to remove a radiator and add heated floors if possible. If money was no object ideally would like to relocate bathroom to larger room across the hall that is already plumbed, but that would depend on cost.
Very small bathroom main floor in a bungalow cerca 1960 needs renovation including fixtures, lighting, flooring, walls, toilet and sink and possibly the tub (at least the tub surround). and possible plumbing work. There is a window but no ceiling fan. Presently the walls are partially covered with black vinyl/plastic tiling (combines very nicely with the combat green color paint in the rest of the room!!!---yuck). I would like a clean, simple, practical and functional, modern, eco-friendly bathroom.
I am interested in quality, price and appearance as I believe all are important. I am looking more in the range of $5-12000 as my budget.
Thank you
ALL MATERIALS WILL BE SUPPLIED. I am looking for a LABOR ONLY price.
Want to remove bathtub and replace with a 3 pc acrylic tub surround.
Want to remove toilet and sink.
Switch the toilet and sink placement. (Plumbing has been okayed for the switch)
Install tub surround, toilet, pedestral sink, recessed medicine cabinet, new exhaust fan, ducting and cap.
Install existing light fixtures, faucets, new wallboard, flooring (vinyl) ,and possibly some paint.
I'm not 100% sure this reno needs to go to a total gut or not??
Also have to install electrical for fan. I would like to place a light fixture in the cap of the tub surround.
First-time homeowner here. My house is 100 years old. The bathroom is about 6'x6' with a linoleum floor and plaster/lathe walls & ceiling that show moisture damage. There is a clawfoot tub with shower installments, sink, and toilet. There is a heating vent in the floor, a dryer vent in one outside wall (but no plug [or dryer]) and an inoperative fan in the ceiling. There is one very old window. Two of the walls are exterior.
Deconstruction will be taken care of -- walls, floor, ceiling. I need reconstruction -- I want a new floor, ceiling, window and walls (moisture-resistent), a shower stall, a new sink & vanity & mirror, and a fan. Depending on costs, I'm interested in ceramic tile for the floor and the shower and possibly even the wall up to the window.
I want to get started as soon as possible! Please help me beautify my home.
Third floor of house built c 1912. There are knee walls. The room was a bathroom built 1984. The shower leaked (almost immediately) and the shower base eventually cracked. The old tile has been removed as has the flooring down to the hardwood. There is a floor to ceiling cabinet on one side and two wall hung cabinets on the other. We would like to tile the room, put in a new shower and reinstall the vanity with a new sink and put in a new efficient toilet. We are concerned about the movement in the house causing the problem again. We could do the tiling and installation ourselves but need an expert to install the shower base and prepare the floor for the tiles.
Tub/shower, and drywall replaced. For continuity of design, change sink/counter/cabinet/toilet/flooring/walls to match. Check plumbing for leaks, check fan, and seal tub well to prevent mold. Only 1 full bathroom in home, but quality of renovation must not be compromised for efficiency. Small bathroom, about the size of a typical powder room in new show homes with the added space of a tub.
We moved into a condo in December, and upon having a few baths, notice the tub had "sunk" a bit and the caulking seal had cracked away from the tub. We recaulked twice on our own since, and the seal keeps giving way after a few baths. We're wondering if the tub was installed incorrectly. Would like someone to take a look, level out or secure the tub in place as needed, and recaulk.
Job is to renovate adjacent ensuite and main bathrooms, including re-positioning the adjoining wall and re-locating one door entrance.
>> Main bathroom key features: new bathtub, new sink and vanity, new storage unit, relocate toilet, relocate fan and vent.
>> Ensuite bathroom key features: new custom walk-in shower, new sink and vanity, new toilet, re-locate fan and vent, relocate door entry (including filling in current entry). >> Good access from below (from basement) for plumbing and electrical. Area partially demolished already. Aiming for $17,000 budget.
We are moving into a home early June and need two bathrroms completed by late June.
1. Powder room - create one:) With plumbing, toilet, vanity and sink, paint, floor, trim and door.
2. Update an old bathroom - replace old tub with new shower tub, new window, new double vanity and sinks, new toilet, tile and paint.
Thanks! Looking for someone that can start early June so we can move in with working washrooms early July.
I've included some photos from HOUZZ just as inspiration on the design. I will want to pick out the fixtures and items in the bathrooms.
We are looking to do one major renovation and one minor renovation to two bathrooms in our home. The minor renovation is just replacing a counter top and sink. The more involved one may include a total removal and replacement. We are looking for the estimates and to have the work done during the week of March 24th to 31st. The minor reno is in a small 1/2 bathroom. The larger job is in a full bathroom and may include replacing the tub. Scope of job will depend on cost and the advice of a professional.
Remove ceiling, vault ceiling, add skylights, repair water damage in walls, (caused by ice damming) while re-insulating entire house, (small house).
Complete already gutted half bath, replace windows, front door and front steps. Repair / replace some electrical.
Regarding timing, the sooner the better, however timing is flexible for the right contractor.

It has a small standing shower (74” x 29”)but no door, so need a shower door to be installed. A hand showered need to be installed. A door need to be installed. Lighting fixtures can be replaced. Vinyl sheet flooring would be perfect.
2. Laundry room: 8.5’X12’: wall height: 88.5”. currently has board paneling on wall and ceiling which need to be removed and installed drywall. Laundry sink and faucet need to be replaced. Same flooring as washroom need to be installed. Optional: pot lights and a basic cabinet or shelf for laundry room.
3. A hallway beside the washroom going to laundry room: 10.6’X3’ : need to install the same vinyl sheet flooring as washroom and laundry room.
I have included information as much as possible for me. Your expert suggestion would be appreciated. If you think there are other ways we can make it look better please feel free to advise(I have included few pictures for reference) I am looking for something efficient and economic way to complete this job.
Note: I just want those places look good and tidy, no need to be fancy. Thank you.
I have no idea how much it might cost, budget will be adjusted as necessary.
I have a small basement bathroom that I'd like to convert into a wetroom. Its about 8-9 and currently has a shower, sink and toilet in it. All these would be replaced with wall mounted units. There's information on this site about creating a wetroom.
I'd be especially interested to hear if you've created a wetroom before.
We may want other home renovations done soon. I'm looking for a contractor we can get to know and work with more in the future.
