The house is approx. 40 years old. Although every room needs work-this bathroom is our top priority. We plan to take a "green" approach to our renovations as much as possible, preferring natural materials that are both environmentally friendly as well as cost efficient, and energy efficient. Regarding this bathroom-it's small (6'x7')-Ventilation is poor even though there is a window. (new windows 8years ago)The paint is peeling on the ceiling above the bath and we have had ongoing mold problems. The toilet is not functional and needs replacing. The old flourescent tube lighting in the ceiling has to go! We have company coming July 1st and would like to get this bathroom at least "functional" by then. (floor, tub, tile, toilet, lighting, walls)The vanity could be replaced 2-4 weeks later if necessary. Also the other two bathrooms and kitchen are in dire need of work. We are looking to find someone we can trust with all our reno needs who is experienced, reliable, and takes pride in the quality of their work. Someone with an up to date knowledge of eco-friendly products and materials preferred. We are a family of four who is home most of the day-we need to have a functional bath asap. Help!
50's style three bedroom bungalow with a small three piece bathroom that needs complete updating. One small bedroom has some water damage to the hardwood floor which needs replacing.
Bedroom is 10x10 and approx. 25 pieces of the old hardwood needs to be replaced and refinished to match the hardwood through out the rest of the house.
Small three piece Bathroom needs complete updating including new tub and surround, new tile flooing and install of vanity & toiliet (we have already purchased the vanity, faucet & toilet)
we like netural middle of the road finishes, nothing too high end but nothing cheap either!
WE really like the look of subway tile for the tub surround and matching floor 12x12 floor tile. We are not too picky about colour but it has to match the vanity top that we already purchased.
I have a standup shower with tiles on the floor and sides. It is about 3.5x4. I had a leak from the floor that showed up in our dining room downstairs.
I hired a contractor, who has already taken out the existing tiles and concrete from the shower floor. He also removed two layers of tiles from the bottom on the walls. He has disappeared.
I need someone to put a pre-slope in. Put in the shower liner and then retile the shower floor and the two/three layers of tiles on the walls.
The job needs to done soon because we haven't had a use a this bathroom for a while now.
thank you.
Hello - I am in a 30-year old townhome in west Mississauga. Because the parquet (i.e. original) flooring is sinking and buckling in some areas, I would like to get the following jobs addressed:
The parquet floor is shifting in my powder room and has caused plumbing problems; therefore I would like a new toilet, vanity and tile in the bathroom (4.4ft x 4.4ft').
The parquet floor in the master bedroom appears to be sinking in the middle; therefore the floor needs to be reinforced and i'd like laminate or hardwood floor installed (16.75ft x 10ft).
In addition, I had a leak in my upstairs bathroom in February; therefore I had a large piece of the ceiling in my kitchen cut to fix the leak. However, this removal revealed that a main joist had been previously cut (this may be the reason why floors upstairs are sinking). Therefore, this joist needs to be reinforced, and the ceiling patched up.
I would also love to consider having a second-hand, white dishwasher installed to replace the "dead" one in the kitchen....but this would be based on the quote on the above.
So this quote would need to include: new tile/toilet/vanity in bathroom.....new laminate or hardwood flooring in large bedroom; and hole patch/joist reinforcement in kitchen. Plus, dishwasher installation if possible. I would need you to provide all materials, as I'm not comfortable purchasing the necessary materials myself.
Many thanks.
Naomi

-move existent heating duct from floor to wall mount
-build new shower walls and floor as " barrier free" with one floor throughout bathroom
move existing plumbing ( water supply and drains to new locations)
-install new hardware
-refinish ceiling as one smooth surface
-install new toilet and barrier free sink
-install new fan ( larger more powerful)
-install new lighting in ceiling
i am the property owner, the current bathroom is app. 6x8
plumbing, tiling, wall construction skills are required-existing wiring and electrical is sufficient to meet code.
I need someone to remove and install a tub, 3 piece shower wall surround and faucet set. All parts are already purchased. Tub needs light grout base for warranty purpose. Plumbing needs to be moved for new faucet set. Long shower wall is an exterior wall (vapour barrier). Wall surround stops 4-5 inches from ceiling of shower stall so drywall will be needed to fill gap.
Remove everything in the bathroom including strip down the closet next to it to make room for new shower area. Install new shower room with rain head and water jet and steamer. Install new whirlpool tub and toilet and vanity cabinet. Install wall tiles, floor tiles, bathtub enclosure, recessed lighting.
We would provide all the necessary material and fixture. Need professional contractor to do the job right.
We are planning full renovation of two small condo 3pc bathrooms (5' x 7.5-8' each) and started research on contractors so we can get estimates, references etc. Here is a basic description of the project:
Full renovation of two old (original form 70s) small 3pc condo bathrooms (5' x 7.5-8' each).
Work required:
- replacement of bathtub in one bathroom, putting a shower cabin instead of second bathtub (maybe custom shower with glass wall TBD) in second bathroom, replacement of wall + floor tiles (TBD)
- moving of sinks to another wall (closer to shutoff valve) creating more space
- fixtures (electrical as well TBD) so it is located above sinks in their new location
- adding an individual fan (vent?) + electrical switch to one of the bathrooms. current setup has one fan for both bathrooms (TBD)
- not sure about drywall which is old and probably needs a replacement (TBD)
- toilets installation(one is new and needs to be reinstalled, second toilet needs replacement)
- overall renovation should not be fancy - simple, clean, reliable and usable
basically its a full renovation of two small condo 3pc bathrooms that should be finished by May 10th, 2012
Hello!
I am currently renovating my bathroom and am looking for two single sink vanities, one is 30" and the other is 60" (as in the attached layout).
I'm looking for a dark maple espresso wood, in a contemporary style with a flat door style, and dovetail drawers w/ soft close.
The 60" one would have two banks of drawers of 4 on either side and double doors in the middle, and the 30" one would have one bank of drawers on the left and one swing out door on the right.
The sinks will be undermounted, and I'm looking for a Corian or other solid countertop....anything except laminate but as long as it's cost-effective as that is very important to me.
I am located in Mississauga at Eglinton and Winston Churchill.
Thanks,
Matthew

I've torn most of it down to the studs, however it's proving to be too much for me. As part of this project, we need a new window installed, ventilation, flooring and ceiling. Help!

I was trying to change the caulking on he floor of the shower as it was starting to get some fungii. When I took out the first part I felt the caulk wet. I noticed a gap between the floor and the wall so I peeked inside. At that time I noticed that there is water sitting under the floor. I am unsure of the extent and how long it has been there, but so far I see no water damage on the ceiling below. I need someone that can open the floor, drain the water, do any necessary repars and close the floor again. Of course, re-tiling the floor and re-caulking will be needed too.
It is a very small project as it is only the shower with an aproximate size of 10 square feet (maybe a little less).
The house was built in 2002.
