Shower in the ensuite is leaking onto ceiling of dining room below. Don't know if it is the grout in the tile, or drain. Regardless of the cause, we want to remove the ceramic tile in shower and replace with solid panels of culture marble (e.g. Mr. Marble) and procelain tiles. Three walls and the ceiling, a new shower base. and perhaps a shower door.
Home and shower is 14 years old.
Estimate to include:
- Removal of tile and backing for all three walls & ceiling of shower (please keep potlight)
- Removal of base
- Removal of subfloor to ensure the drain pipes are not leaking (this includes looking into back of tub drains through where the shower wall meets the tub enclosure to view if tub drains are leaking)
- Removal of header above shower threshold
- Removal of toe test spout
- Installation of dense shield on shower walls and ceiling
- Schluter system on walls behind tiles
- Schluter-Kerdi-Band membrane on all corners, seams, and around all openings
- Installation of Mr. Marble cultured marble solid base (colour White M09)
- Installation of Mr. Marble cultured marble panels (colour Natural Marble Mist M817) on bottom section of 3 walls (37.5€ above base)
- Installation of white porcelain tile on remainder of walls and on ceiling (making opening for existing potlight)
- Installation of pencil trim between marble panel and tile
- Best grout for tiles (that don't stain easily)
- Silicone all seams between cultured marble
- New shower fixtures that includes shower head and 2 body sprays (feed pipes to be changed to accommodate new fixters)
- Changing existing ventilation fan to Nutone Single Bulb Heater & Ventilation Fan (model 9417DN)
- A timer switch to operate the heater portion of the above fan.
Dimensions of existing shower stall:
Backwall: 35€ X 81 €
Sidewalls: 39 € X 81 €
Ceiling: 39 5/8€ X 35€
Please give me the ESTIMATE on work effort.
I will be responsible for supplying tiles, and marble panels and base and shower fixtures. Contractor will be responsible for all other materials.
Please see below the description of the project:
1) Build a room over 2 cars garage.

Hello, the previous owners changed the tub/shower into a shower only.
The drain was moved to the middle, so has to be moved back, and the faucets have to be replaced. I have 4 extra large tiles that can "mend" that area, so we can "save" the tiles.
There is also a corner shower unit downstairs that I want completey replaced with a new one. It's got a plastic bottom, I'm told that's important to know.
Thank you,
Jackie
Shower Framing job:
Basement bathroom shower, need help reframing just the shower portion. Including the 3 walls the ceiling. The back wall is uneven. I need the walls and ceiling to be square, level, plumb and true ready for plumbing and tiling.
Current measurements: 36x66
Final measurements: 36x60
I recently renovated my whole bathroom. Soon after that i noticed a leak from my bathroom into kitchen through the sealing. I removed the drywall on kitchen ceiling and found that it is leaking around the shower drainage outlet.
Need to repair that.
Requesting a quote for that including a home inspection.
Thank you
Hi, I'm looking for work done for a stand up shower that either needs to be repaired or replaced in a master ensuite. There is a wet patch on the ceiling of our family room which is directly below the shower. The shower has not been used for 2 years now since we spotted the wet spot on the ceiling.
Need shower door replacement and drywall around shower re-done and painted as water damage confirmed by plumber leaking from shower door.
The shower is the original about 24 years old, drainage pan has never been replaced which would mean the floor would need removal and replacing which is another option but trying to go the most economical for now. Plumber said if the pan was leaking that the water would travel to the suite below me, so I think it's not the problem as I have had no issues with my neighbor below me.
I just had the shower re-tiled half way, re-grouted, water-proofed and the shower ceiling tiled in 2010 so I don't really want to have the entire thing re-done. Your input is appreciated. I will take quotes though if the prices are right to replace the entire.
I would like to really diminish as much drywall as possible and have a modern tempered glass floor to ceiling shower or a no-tile option such as an entire shower insert, however again, need prices and options if was to go that route.... For now was just hoping to repair existing as I just spent $850 to fix it in 2010.... Also I probably will be here only another 4-5 years before I re-locate so don't want to go overboard, but also don't want more problems.
We are in need of a shower repair because of leaking around the drain to the floor below. It is suspected that there are hairline cracks in grout and possibly penetration around the drain itself, maybe more.
We would like to get an estimate on carefully removing the entire shower base ONLY, and installing a new shower waterproofing system like Kerdi Schluter, RedGuard etc without removing the walls or as minimally as possible (maybe first bottom row max) as we don't have more tile and the whole bathroom and shower is finished with the porcelain on the walls/floors already.
The size of the base is about 3x4 ft. The ceiling is removed on floor below so everything will be accessible however it may be required to replace floor boards/concrete boards before creating a new sloped base and/or kerdi waterproof solution. We would then also need to have new floor tiles installed again over-top of the waterproofing.
To newly waterproof the curb, we may also need to remove the glass shower doors and re-install or replace after all is done.
We would like to replace our Basement Shower.
- Removal of existing Plastic Shower and glass panels
- Replace Drywall behind shower box with Schluter board
- Install new plastic sectional shower (Same size shape as existing) and fixtures
We will provide the new shower, fixtures and Schluter board. We are looking for an estimate on both the number of days for this job and an approximate cost.
Our budget for Labour is in or around the $1000 mark. So if this is not plausible with the tasks we have, is there something that we can do to make it closer to this? (like removing the shower and drywall ourselves)
Thanks
current shower is 36x36x83 all tiles with marble around entrance.
looking to replace it with wall panels and acrylic base (tired of tile/grout maintenance)
open to suggestions
would like to keep it under $2000 including material (we have the new faucet already)
Can do the demolition of the existing shower.
Hello,
We need to have a standard corner unit shower stall in our second floor bathroom gutted and retiled.
Our guess is that it is about 15 years old.
The base of the shower stall is a pre-fab fiber - glass base . 2 of the shower walls are tiled in a very worn old marble. We have removed the glass surround already.
Currently, the shower has a basic shower head and single lever wall control. We will need to have some minor plumbing done to add a hand held shower spray as well. Of course , we will be using all new plumbing fixtures.
We will be having the glass surround installed by another company. So we just need the shower stall demolition/prep/ tiling and plumbing done.
We already have the tile and plumbing fixtures on site .
We will be using a ceramic tile for the shower (with a simple marble tile border ).
We also anticipate that a small part of the marble tile floor around the stall will have to be removed as we would like to slightly expand the footprint of the shower stall if possible.
We have a tub that is also clad in tile and may need some minor grout repairs.
Finally, we also have a main floor shower stall that needs some minor re-grouting as well.
We MUST have these project completed no later than May 10th.
Kindly respond only if you have availability to meet that timeline.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Respectfully,
Giovanna
We need our bathroom renovated with new drywall, floor and wall tiles. We have the new toilet and vanity. removal of cabinet and new ones installed with new drywall for the laundry area. We need plumbing fixed in our main bathroom in the shower/tub, the overflow was done wrong and has caused water damage on the ceiling below on the main floor.
Hi there.
I'm looking to get a rough quote for the following work that needs to be completed for a small basement washroom:
- laying down tile
- installing washroom vanity sink
- installing new toilet
Specifications & Info:
- current floor size is 62" x 70"
- tiles and grout will be supplied
- looking to install 6" x 24" tiles 3/8" thick
- 28" vanity sink will be supplied
- American Standard toilet will be supplied
- rough in for sink & toilet already present
I was going to do the job myself, but would like to have a professional finish this room instead, as it needs to look perfect.
I'm located in Mississauga on the boarder of Oakville & Milton.
As stated above, this room needs to be perfect. I'm very picky when it comes to the final finish. Only pros need to apply.
I look forward to receiving your quotes.
Please see attached pics.
Thank you.

I have a small bathroom in my basement that I want to renovate. It is about 6x8 feet. It is done by the original oweners of the house about 20 years ago. It has tiles everywhere and some of them are starting to fall. Since this is the second bathroom in the house I don't want to spend a lot of money on this renovation.
I have a small bathroom that needs redone. My bathroom has a sink/ vanity, toilet and tub shower combo. It has two exterior walls that i would like new insulation installed in. I need an exhaust fan installed as there currently is not one. I would like to re use certain parts of my bathroom for example, bath tub and faucets, vanity and sink and my toilet these items are all in good shape. I am willing to put in a little work myself if needed.
