I have used Lloyd for several home repairs over the past few years. He has done window replacement, new roof, foundation leak repair, eve trough replacement, fence repairs, drywall and painting. He never asked for a deposit for any work preformed. Give him a try.
Thanks Jim for the recommendation.

We have known this company for many years and they have done a substantial amount of work for us. During all of our dealings we have found Lloyd Churchill and his associates to be totally professional and have completed all the agreed upon work in a timely and cost effective manner. In addition we have recommend his company to many of our friends and family members, and to date we have heard nothing but very positive remarks.
In reading some of the other comments I find it very difficult to believe that any such problems were encountered, as we all know the home renovation industry has quite a reputation, however I have %100000 confidence in Ultra Restorations and will not hesitate to recommend Lloyd and his services in the future. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK LLOYD!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. DiMarco I appreciate you taking the time to do this note, it is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your business & faith in my company.

Lloyd Churchill is both very personable and trust worthy. He lets you know up front what can be accomplished on your budget and he does his best to accommodate your needs: There are no surprises. All of the workers he employs are top notch in their field.
I am extremely pleased with how my home looks now and I've fallen in love with it all over again.
Thanks Lloyd!
Thanks Fran so much I appreciate the confidence you showed in me & my workers & your house does look so much better. Again Thanks.

My first experience with Ultra was in February 2017, when I posted a project of renovations on my second floor. Ultra was one of the companies responded to the request. Lloyd seemed smooth talker, and professional, yet conversation led nowhere after two visits and some follow-ups.
In March 2018 I posted another project, for fixing consequences of the leak in my kitchen ceiling. I had a rough time with my insurance company doing everything to deny the claim, and I needed a clear paper trace of what is to be done. Lloyd offered to come for an estimate. Remembering my past impression (professional, smooth talker, see above), I asked him to come and give an estimate.
On the day of the visit (2018/03/15), Lloyd called and said he wants $250 to come, apologizing for not mentioning that before. This charge is not on their web site, or on the company description, at least, it was NOT there on March 15. Remembering Lloyd positively, and relying on his self-claimed 40+ years of experience dealing with insurance companies, I decided to give Ultra a try.
When a sad thing: it took several phone calls and email follow-ups to get SOME estimate in writing. On my last conversation with Lloyd he seems almost angry asking why I need a written estimate at all, all other asking details of my conversation with the insurance company, and keeping saying about his prolonged experience with insurance companies. 1-page document only arrived on March 26.
Well, this is it - I was not convinced Ultra is able to provide paper work essential for the project, and retained service of a different company. Someone who believes that multi thousand dollars projects can be done on a word, without a contract or any other paper work, may find Ultra Restorations and Lloyd good choice. As for me, even without involvement into a dispute with insurance, I want detailed paper work for this kind of project.
I am very surprized to see this review after 4 months since I last spoke to this man. I charged him the 2nd time for my visit cause contrary to his comments, he has his ideas of how the job should be done & doesn't allow for variance from that idea. I tried to tell him the procedure in which the work should be done ( detect where the leak is coming from before we complete the estimate ) he didn't want this so I wished him luck & moved on. I think his critic of my tactics are unfair, if he had let me work it out I would have applied the $ 250 to be deducted from the estimate if insurance wasn't covering the damage but he wouldn't let go that far. The man advised me that if the insurance company didn't cover the loss, he was going to sue them, who wants to be involved in law suit with a person who won't listen & will put the blame on you when he loses. I have been a claims manger & done 100's of this losses, so I know the way it works but sometimes people think they can build a better mouse trap.

Had hired the company based on the promises made. I specifically requested that they fix the water damage to my house before doing the cosmetic repairs and at the end when I followed up less than 1 week later indicating that the water damaged is there they said they only did the cosmetic work. At the beginning they were very accommodating and said “don’t worry we won’t charge you more than what was quoted” but near the end and after the job was completed, they would ask for more money and are unresponsive in my request to examine their work again since the issue wasn’t fixed. Ethically unprofessional.
When I first went to see this job I was shown a window where the water had come into the bedroom , the window contractor was hired by the customer to see if the window was the issue to which she confirmed to me that they told her the window was not the problem but did a very poor job of putting everything back together after tearing of the window trim etc . I told the lady it might have been an ice jamming from the winter but now it was April & not leaking . She asked me to look at her dining/kitchen area to add pot lights which I did & agreed there 6 pot she wanted added . She asked me to look at the front door which was sticking & again we agreed we could fix it . I quoted originally $ 4000 to do this work but this was way above here budget of $ 2200 , when following up she came up to $2500 & eventually I can down to $3200 to help her . She asked why I was painting the front door & I explained that if we sanded or planed the door to ease the tightness if would need painting & this would be only about $ 100 , she said take that out & we had a deal so I did . When we went to do the electrical work we found the floor joist running the wrong way for easy install of new pot light but we did it anyway making many more hole to run the wiring to most of her satisfaction . There was an issue with pot light rings not matching the new ones ( builder's grade not to be found ) I told if we found them no charge but we couldn't so we went ahead to make her happy . We repaired a lot more ceiling than estimated in this room ( no charge ) , we also repaired & painted the living room ceiling in the quote . I did repair the front door , but didn't paint it ( no charge ) When we finished the only thing I asked extra was for the new pot light rings material only which she refused to pay but we installed them anyway . The issue of the leaking I feel is not my responsibility because she told me the window guy said it was not his problem & she confirmed before the repairs ( which was months later after the original leak ) it was not leaking at the time of my inspection .
A review comes down to two questions: would you hire this company again and would you recommend them to others? And we would answer no to both questions. We were very disappointed with our experience working with Lloyd and the quality of work by his sub-contractors. Initially his responsiveness was great, although we never received a quote in writing or a contract. I eventually sent him an email to have something in writing. The bay window leak and cold room repair were completed without issue but the quality of work with our deck being sanded and stained was subpar. The sub-contractors did a sloppy job staining the deck and our house, tree and fence were all stained and leaves and feathers were painted over (photos included). They also left containers and paint brushes in our yard. Neither Lloyd nor the paint company contact George came to check on the project (although Lloyd did come to get paid while the project was still being worked on). We had to contact Lloyd to raise concerns and request that he come see the work in person.
During his follow-up visit with George we received hostility and my husband was even told that we were going to be a pain in his (Lloyd's) butt, while he made a gesture to indicate this. We agreed to have the deck re-stained and the team sanded the paint off of our fence and used tape to protect our house. Although we agreed on two new coats of paint, they only did one coat and there are areas that will need to be touched up by us (photo included). No one came to remove the tape as promised and we have not received any communication from Lloyd (call, email or in person visit) to inspect the work and make sure the issues were resolved.
Lloyd was very friendly and agreeable throughout most of the project so we were sad to end with such a negative experience. He did stay on budget and was very thorough with communicating initially.
I will admit that my sub did a sloppy job 1st time staining the deck , but as soon as Shayla advised me I went right away with my man George to inspect. We did agree that it was sloppy & agreed to clean up that problem. The staining didn't turn out very good as it was streaky, so we suggested to both her & Richard we try to sand down a section right to the bare wood & stain it to see if the wood would look different or at no cost to them we would re-stain the deck completely in a similar but solid colour to see how it would finish. As for the hostility towards them or her husband I don't know what she is talking about there wasn't even an argument it was try this or do the deck over which we did . Shayla was always asking me about paying cause she needed to go the bank so when she was going away for a few days I arranged with her to collect while the job was being worked on & assured her that if there was a problem I would stand up & take care of it, which I did . I admit I was not on the site for the 2nd staining but we used 3 gallons of stain which would suggest we did 2 coats. We were unable to remove the protective paper at the time because the deck was still wet, if she had told me directly (which she has done in the past) I would have taken care of this too, but she decided to write this complaint instead . I was more than fair with this customer & did everything I could to please them & don't feel I deserve such a strong critical review Just in closing I didn't see or hear any thing or gesture about being trouble for me, if 1 of my men did that I would not stand for such a thing & they would be reprimanded.
Lloyd and his crew resolved my nightmare. Living 500 kms away from where the work was being done could have been a huge challenge. I met Lloyd within 48 hours of posting the three jobs on Trusted Pro. He took charge of the projects and I returned home with confidence that they would get done. They got done and done quickly and efficiently.
Ultra Restorations has access to a variety of tradespeople so they were able to do three out of the 4 jobs posted. Certainly an advantage for me.
People living t the house were kept informed of when work people would be at the house and they were always there when they said they would be and always polite when interacting with us.
An issue with getting money transferred for payment was eventually resolved but the work was able to proceed without interruption.
I will definitely contact them for any future projects.
We have used ultra restorations for all our needs. We manage 71 rental townhouses in Thornhill. They have provided a variety of trades for minor and major repairs and upgrades. When our underground parking garage flooded after a major storm, they were the people that jumped into action and provided pumps, restoration and final cleanup. We have had the entire complex upgraded with new windows. When we were in need of roof replacement, they provided us with contractors that did the job quickly and properly.
The Hockey Hall of Fame has been using Ultra Restorations Inc. for various renovation and maintenance-related projects over the past ten years, and we have always been completely satisfied with their work. Some of the jobs undertaken over this period include complete kitchen, public washroom and office renovation projects, repairs and maintenance to retail/office entrances and fire doors, installations of stone tile floors and cabinetry. Our experience finds them to be professional and courteous while providing quality workmanship and very competitive pricing.
Based on our experience, I'm pleased to recommend the services of Lloyd Churchill and Ultra Restorations Inc.
Thanks Tome, I appreciate you taking the time.
