We’d like to renovate our condo bathroom. We are the property owners.
Size of the room is approximately 10ft by 5 ft. There is currently a wall/closet in the room that will have to be removed, and a wall built between the bathroom and a closet.
We’d like to replace all items - tub (we want the deepest one you have), toilet (we have a bidet seat to install, but require an electric plug behind the toilet to attach it), sink/vanity (3 ft, approx), medicine cabinet/mirror (3 ft), and we’d like to move the stacked washer/dryer beside the sink. Also, floor and shower will require tiling. The room currently has a swing door, we’d like a pocket or sliding door to save space. We’d also like to replace the lights currently attached to the wall with pot lights above.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
I have a small bathroom in a detached house (Kipling and Lakeshore in Etobicoke), and need it renovated. Please provide your rough estimates for the following. If they are competitive - we can arrange a visit to land on specific estimates.
Summary of the bathroom: width 6', depth 7'7", height 8'2". New bathroom is to have the same footprint as the old one - walls need to be straightened (e.g. closet removed). I will provide materials (vanity, toilet, bathtub, tiles, plumbing stuff, safe-n-sound soundproofing, 2x4, red glue, etc.), you transport large sized materials (e.g. bathtub, drywall) and provide consumables (screws, pex joints, etc.). This bathroom is on the ground floor. Basement is completely accessible.
I am ready to hire quickly - assuming that:
1. you have reasonable quote
2. offer good quality of work
3. the permit headache is figured out.
Scope of work:
--------------
1. Permit
- I have expired permit that was accepted - for more complex job in the same house, which I didn't undertake.
- Key drawings are available - in the hardcopy format (elevation, ground floor plan, elevations proposed cross section, etc. ), these can be scanned into PDF
- Need to create new drawings for the new permit application
- Need new permit approved
2. Demolition of the old bathroom, and removal of construction garbage
3. New framing
- wooden 2x4's
- removal of subfloor
- installation of new subfloor
- installation of fiber glass boards / cement boards
- water proofing
- etc.
4. Electrical
- exhaust fan
- light in front of vanity
- light above bathtub
- light in the middle of bathroom (optional)
5. Plumbing
- toilet - 1/2 pex
- vanity - 1/2 pex
- bath (and bath tap, shower) - 3/4 pex
6. Insulation
- Roxul safe'n'sound
- Open to your recommendations (e.g. 1 layer of sound proofing board from Rona and Fireproof drywall)
7. Drywall
- Fireproof drywall
8. Tiling and painting
- walls tiled to the top
- floor tiled too - from entrance to the bath tub
9. Anything else I have missed
Please provide two high level estimates/quotes for the scope of work:
Quote 1: all of the above - with permit
Quote 2: all of the above - without permit
If you do not specialize in permits - please reach out to your partners that do, and include their quote with yours. Also, please do not say "we got to see it". I can answer any questions - please include them with your responses.
After reviewing submissions, I will select one or couple of vendors, we will meet, go over specifics, create a written contract, and will start the job.
Summary:
- Detached house, bathroom is on the ground floor, dimensions: 6ft by 8ft
- Basement is completely accessible

Hello,
We have some work we need to get done in our condo/townhouse. We already have a plumber we have hired to replace kitec pipes in our unit, and we are looking for someone who can do demolition of a bathroom floor to allow the plumbers to get into the floor, then someone who can replace the floor and tiles with new tiles, and replace a new vanity in one bathroom.
We also need someone who can help us with framing a wall for a half bath we are adding in on the basement level of our unit and help us to figure out how we can add a fan and space the walls correctly so that the half bathroom is up to code.
