We removed the carpets in both bedrooms and I like to know how much it will cost to sand + stain+ varnish the existing hardwood floors (including filling where needed and if new baseboards)
• First room is 230 sq ft
• Second room is 100 sq ft
If you provide an email address I could provide you images of the floors.
Thank you

We are looking at refinishing our stairs and although we were initially thinking about doing the work ourselves I would like to enquire as to how much it would cost to have the work done. The work would involve one set of stairs: - 8 risers and 7 treads approximately 46” open on both sides. Bottom riser is circular at one end. - 7 risers and 6 treads approximately 40” open on one side • - install metal spindles approximately 83 We will use the existing hand railing. The landing will also need to be installed with hardwood. We would stain ourselves but if you quote on this that would be great.
Thank you.
We are moving into a new condo down town. The close date is May 14th, but we won't be moving in until June. We would like to have the floor installed before we move with Allure Flooring Perfect Sawcut Luxury Vinyl Flooring, 5-inch x 6-inch
Model # I54112L-CTHS|Store SKU # 1001341651, from Home Depot. The measuring can be done at any time after May 15th.
We are looking to update the floors in the kitchen and install new countertops.
The floors for the rest of the bathroom and one bedroom would need to be updated, as well.
Repairs to some walls are also required, along with painting.
One door and window need to be replaced.
The total square footage is approximately 420 square feet.
We have an existing granite countertop that we may be able to use, if it can be accommodated in the space.
Install laminate flooring on front entry way staircase (14 steps), install laminate flooring on Main Floor (living / dining room area, approximately 400 square feet), install laminate flooring on second staircase (14 steps), install laminate flooring in 2nd Floor Hallway (approximately 100 square feet).
I would like to have 2 separate estimates given by each Contractor:
1.) The Front Entry Stairwell (14 steps) + Living/Dining Room Area (approx. 400 sf)
2.) The Front Entry Stairwell (14 steps) + Living/Dining Room Area (approx. 400 sf) + 2nd Staircase (14 steps) + 2nd Floor Hallway (approx. 100 sf).
Ideally, I would like to have Option #2 - if the price is right.
I need some renovations to be done on my 1500 sqft industrial space. I need electrical and plumbing work to suit my bakery needs (for convection oven, walk-in fridge/freezer, dishpit, handwash sinks, planetary mixer etc). I also need some food safe wall panelling and flooring to be installed. I will need some hardwood or tiling for the front retail space as well.

On October 29th we take possession of a 2-storey house that is close to 110 years old. The previous owners kept the house in fairly good condition, however the hardwood floors in 5 of the rooms are at the end and we'd like to replace these with new hardwood or engineered hardwood floor, prefinished. In addition to those 5 rooms, the wood stairs between the main and second floor need to be refinished, and the flooring of the upstairs hallway should be replaced along with 3 bedrooms. The other two rooms to have new floors are the dining and living room. The total square footage of the rooms plus hallway is 752, and the stairs are on top of this.
We would also like to repaint the main and second floor, including room doors, closets, ceilings, front and back doors of the house. The total number of rooms is 7, plus a front foyer and the stairwell leading upstairs plus the small hallways. We would also like to paint the back of the stairs, leaving each step wood (to have a paint and wood contrast at each step.
We would like to have this work done in the first half of November. The house is in Toronto, near Dufferin and Bloor.
Hello vinyl flooring contractors. We are a general contractor, and have a flooring repair job that requires immediate attention, approx. 400-500 sq. ft.
Vinyl flooring was put down, but unfortunately the sub floor has some imperfections were showing through the thin vinyl.
Part of the floor went down on concrete, and part on top of existing marmoleum. Most of the marmoleum side is ok, a few small areas that need attention....the concrete side is where the majority of imperfections were showing.
We need a "qualified" contractor that can repair this.
The job must be completed as soon as possible. Most of the repair areas have been removed, only a few small sections require further removal. Thank you
Damaged area is about 90 sq. feet
Room is in a condo in North York
Material - hardwood tile size 6x6x0.3125 inches
We can provide a sample of current tile but prefer you
to find and deliver matched hardwood material by yourself.
Please indicate your total price.
Photos of current floor are attached.
We are looking to replace the hardwood floor in our house - the floor is the original hardwood from 1934 and is very squeaky. We believe the subfloor will need to be replaced to fix the squeaking. The space is about 1000sq feet over 2 stories. The staircase is new so that does not need to be replaced.
We have not decided on solid wood or engineered hardwood, but leaning towards engineered. Open to suggestions.
Will need someone to accurately measure our space.
Looking for someone to work with us to stay within our budget. Looking for someone who will guarantee the quality of their work.
We currently have rads that will need to be removed for the job.
Looking to replace my laminate flooring. I am in a condo in downtown Toronto (approximately 570 square feet), so this would require the movement of furniture. I have already purchased the laminate (12 mm, CLIC) and the underlay. Might also require the replacement of baseboards. Quote would also need to include the disposal of existing laminate.
We recently bought a 100+ year old house in Toronto and completely gutted/redid the basement apartment [fully permitted!]. Now that it's all done and we're about to move our first tenant in, we realized how loud the main floor sounds from the basement. The floor is hardwood and very squeaky, and there is a lot of shaking and loud footstep noise.
We don't want to a bandaid fix and we want the downstairs tenant to be comfortable. This would include full replacement of subfloor, adding suitable soundproofing (ie green glue or QuietDown) and installing hardwood.
The space is only about 450sq feet. Also we had an engineer in for basement and the joists (true 2x8s, 16"OC) were given the thumbs up.
Have about 450SF of floors space in kitchen, living room and bedroom. its hardwood on the floor right now that needs to be replaced. There is a one stair that elevates the living/kitchen from the bedroom. no pillars or obstructions along the way, its all open. Prefer to use laminate or engineered wood that I will provide. Looking forward to working with you!

Hello,
I have a week and a half to complete this project. Looking at replacing the existing hardwood flooring in my bungalow. Would like a contractor who is licensed/bonded. Detailed written estimate is mandatory. My budget is no more than $3500 cash. Contractor is also required to haul garbage away with them.
Please contact me ASAP.
Thanks

I've just pulled up some floor carpets in my office to do some cleaning, and noticed the floor boards are spreading apart. Right now, you can fit a dollar coin between the widest ones.
I looked at the walls and saw some separation between the floor and the baseboard.
Can someone point me in the right direction re: repairs / quotes?
Thank you.
We are having a new reception desk custom built for us, scheduled to be installed during 3rd week of January. Before we install the new desk, we need someone to remove and dispose of old reception desk and carpeting, install new laminate flooring (budget allows for $3-$3.50 per square foot), and paint reception area and one wall of hallway. No plumbing required. No electrical work required, however we do need to move the network cable from its existing location to the wall where the new desk will be installed, and rough-in a new connection port. Property management requires that our contractor show proof of coverage under WSIB and complete commercial liability insurance, naming them as the additional insured.
Please give me an estimate on your price for Sanding , staining and polishng the floor and stairs. Total area of Parquet floor is about 1300 sq ft and there are 26 steps for the stairs. I want to sand, stain and polish the floor. THe floor is in good condition and no damage. I just moved in the house and want to polish it. Contractors are quoting $1.25 - $1.5 per sq feet and $20-25 per step for stairs. Can you beat this price? I want to get started with the work immediately.

2nd floor condo apartment. I'm planning to replace the carpet to laminate floor. I went to Home Depot, and got a apprx. price around $3500-$4000 in total, including everything, such as carpet removal, moving funiture, cost of laminate (10mm) and underlaying. The installation cost of Home Depot is $2.35+tax, and the cost of the laminate (10mm) that I chose if $2.49+tax.
I'm wondering if that is the best offer that I can get. Any advice will be welcomed. Thank you.
