Hello,
We would like to renew our kitchen:
- remove the countertop and install the new one
- remove and install a new backsplash
- remove all the top shelves
- remove and install new sink.
The dimensions:
- the countertop about 116 x 26 inches
- the backsplash about 176 x 16 inches.
Could you please estimate the cost of the work of it all, excluding the cost of the materials? Thank you!
Best regards,
Paula
I need to totally renovate my L-shaped kitchen inexpensively. I would like to get probably 2 to 3 different contractors to personally look at it for a no-commitment on-site assessment for a more accurate quote . The house is old, in the 80's.
size of the L-shape working area is about 8ft x 8 ft. Need to install exhaust and space for dishwasher. I do not need anything too fancy and hi-end. I just want something tidy and neat. Must do plumbing and electricals and retouching of the concrete because the wall beneath the sink needs to be fortified. Okay to visit weekdays, I will be at home.
Hi,
I would need the following work done for my condo kitchen the is L-shaped and is 11'7" X 10'3".
1. Plumbing for the new kitchen I will be putting in. So taking out the dishwasher, putting it back in after the new kitchen has been installed, removing old sink and faucet and installing an undermount sink and faucet.
2. Required electrical work that might be needed. I have a bulkhead, where a part of it might need to be removed to put in a chimney style hood fan or just attach it under the bulkhead with the proper wiring needed. And then patch up the area.
Also, I might need you to take down old cabinets and dispose of them and maybe if I decide to change my floor tiles, I need the tiling and backsplash done too.
So how much would it cost if you were to give me an estimate for:
1. Plumbing and Electrical
2. Tiling and backsplash
3. Removal and disposal of old kitchen
Thank you,
Rozana
The house is 29 years old. Semi, 3 floors long and skinny (18x30 sq/fe). The kitchen is currently in the middle of the house, adjacent to the stairs with walls all around. We would like to move the kitchen to the back of the house knocking down all the walls. They are not load bearing but do return air dry wall shafts and other electrical in them. We are planning on doing a lot of the grunt work ourselves (removing cabinets, drywall, sanding) but need a part time contractor to advise us, come in when need for complex jobs and generally oversee the project. We have a licensed plumber, gas fitter, electrician through family.
Kitchen Renovation
House is 107 years old and owner occupied. Kitchen space is 14' 8 by 10' 9. We have designed IKEA kitchen using their software. There are no corners in the kitchen, so the job requires that two doors be walled off to create the U shaped layout we have designed.
Possible services required include:
Prepping the space by removing two doors (pantry & back stairs) and wainscotting all around, installing drywall on that wall.
Removing existing linoleum and installing ceramic tile.
Installing gas line through unfinished basement to stove location.
Installing plumbing for fridge water/ice
Installing additional electrical outlets for counter plugs
Installing cabinetry and accessories (including sink)
Installing countertop
Installing backsplash.
Thank you for your time.
We have a kitchen in a condo that we are looking to renovate completely. The area that needs to be tiled is around 125 square feet. Sound proofing undepad is needed.
We would like new wood cabinets that are dark brown (chocolate coloured) and a white shimmer quartz counter-top.
Back splash is needed.
There is a pass-through that has been started in a wall that needs to be trimmed and finished.
A hood exhaust system is needed.
Some electrical work might also be needed.
Copper connection from sink to wall is also needed for this building.
I have a design with dimensions already drawn up. I just need pricing and a time frame.
kitchen is about 300 sq2. condo kitchen needs renovating. ripping off the existing stone to install new ceramic tiles, ripping out the counter tops and adding marble backsplash. condo is roughly 6 years old. cabintry has been bought custom made and they need to install themselves, but i want the demo and tilng done by someone more experienced as because i had bad experience with the same contractors doing both my washrooms. thanks.
My husband and I are seeking a contractor to replace the existing cabinets in our kitchen with custom-built wood cabinetry to provide more storage. We would also like all the countertops to be removed and replaced with granite that has already been pre-ordered. We also require the installation of a new sink and fixtures as well as tiles for the backsplash. The kitchen space is approx. 14 X 16 ft. We are also considering demolition of the wall currently adjoining the kitchen and dining room and using hardwood flooring throughout the space. Ideally, we would like the work to begin in early May and be completed within 3-4 weeks, if possible. We are interested in receiving quotes but hope to stay within a budget of $12,000 - $15,000.
Rebuild kitchen on main floor open concept space. Take down wall between current galley kitchen and dining room area to make one large kitchen with eat in counter. new cabinets, pantry, new stove/microwave. Move plumbing to other side of room(basement area under kitchen is not finished). Area is approx 200"inches x 140"inches.
We live in a housing co-op where almost everything is done at the lowest price so quality suffers. As a result we want to do the following kitchen renovations at our own expense. We do not own the apartment but expect to be here for many years and are willing to invest in the apartment.
1. Replace, if possible the doors to existing cabinets. One contractor told us the current doors are not standard sizes so we need new cabinets. Is that correct? What are our options? Is it less expensive to do custom doors or replace the cabinets?
2. Replace the counter top with a laminate. no granite or fake granite. We saw a product at Home Depot that will work and have samples.
3. Replace current tiles with ceramic or porcelain tiles. We saw tiles we like on sale at Home Depot.
As an estimate of size, we counted 140 12" x 12" floor tiles.
We are expecting a cost somewhere around $5,000.
Kitchen size is approximately 10x13 feet
I would like:
New ceiling height cabinets
New ceramic tile flooring
additional storage space (e.g. wall cabinet)
Kitchen island
New appliances
I don't have a specific layout in mind and I'm open to ideas. My budget is $25,000
Full kitchen renovation to 1920-30's North Toronto semi detached home. Renovation includes removal of a load bearing wall between dining room and kitchen. Install new ceiling in kitchen and dining room, new drywall in kitchen and new french door leading out to patio from the kitchen as well as all new cabinetry (breakfast bar to be installed where kitchen and dining room wall used to be).
Dear contractors,
We live in a condo on Yonge and Sheppard in Toronto, ON.
In our kitchen we have two bar fridges instead of the tradtional fridge. We are looking to install a traditional stainless steel fridge/freezer and to do so, we need to cut the granite counter top and remove some of the cabinets. Our kitchen is small and the job should not take more than a few hours.
We are looking for someone who is an expert in this field with professional liability insurance and who is honest, reliable and will complete the job with no complications.
Remodeling a 20 year old kitchen. New cabinets, maple doors with cherry/deep wine red colour stain. This is a u-shaped kitchen (approximately 32 ft when measuring from one side of the u shape to the other) with an additional wall lined with pantry units (approx 10ft long). The current height of the kitchen is 8 ft. This does not include crown molding height) I like a simple but traditional look, with crown molding, light valance, glass in corner cabinets. Please contact me for any additional information you may require.
Hello All,
I would like renovate the kitchen in our condo.
The current kitchen is outdated (condo built in 1979) and not functional.
The current lay out (from the perspective of looking into the kitchen from the hall):
The left wall (A) has the fridge, an aprox. 1.5 foot long cabinet (a), then the stove.
Above the fridge and the stove are hanging cabinets (b)
The adjacent wall (B) has nothing (except a switch to the ceiling fan)
This wall (B) continues into the living room
To the Right of the entrance is a the counter top with a sink position close to wall B Below the counter top is cabinets (c )
Above the counter top are cabinets (d)
The countertop (breakfast bar) and cabinets (c & d) frame the kitchen (C)
So the kitchen is U shape
|B|
|A| |C|
A&C approx 72"
B approx 63 from A to the start of counter top
Currently the counter top and cabinets are laminate. The floors are tiled and I would like to avoid redoing the floors if possible.
My Idea for a remodel is to:
Leave the fridge along wall A, put a new counter with new cabinets under and above this counter top to wall B
Move the stove against wall B with an over the range Microwave above it with hanging cabinets on either side of the microwave.
Remove the cabinets that were above C
Move the sink to the middle of the counter top C
Have a breakfast bar with that counter top C
And have cabinets and a dish washer underneath the counter top C to open up the room.
One other change would be the kitchen sink and faucet.
Materials have not been decided on but most likely a good laminate for the countertops and an oak for the cabinetry. But that is not in stone.
This is a condo so work will have to be done between 9am and 5pm and trash will have to be taken off site to be disposed of.
I am looking for a good quote.
I will definitely need references since I (as most) want this to be completed in the time given within the budget quoted.
Thank you for your time!
Clifton
Condo kitchen needs updating:
- cabinets
- counter top
- island
- floor tiles
- blacksplash
Would prefer to reface the cabinets if possible (for budget purposes) as we aren't looking to reconfigure the layout, simply update everything.
Approximate kitchen dimensions: 150 - 200 square feet
Small bungalow (less than 1,000 s.f.) in the Toronto area (Alderwood: Browns Line and 427 area). We are considering a renovation project that would involve the following:
Remodeling kitchen (9x14s.f.)
Replacing existing stair case to basement
Removing a portion of an existing wall (part of the kitchen reno)
Replacing existing hardwood flooring throughout kitchen and living room
Recognizing the challenges one faces when working with small spaces, I understand if a project of this nature is not of interest to you. However, should you wish to explore this opportunity further, we would be happy to arrange a site visit or share with you a copy of the existing floor plan (identifying the areas where we would like to make changes) in the hope you could advise us, based on your years of experience, how realistic our €œwish list€ truly is and the associated costs.

90 square feet of cabinet resurfacing. doors and door surrounds. custom sizes. see below for dimensions.
45 square feet - high sheen white laquer (contemporary doors). top row of cupboards and wall of cupboards (not shown in photo).
45 square feet - high sheen wenge wood (contemporary doors). bottom of cupboards.
one new cabinet (don't have square footage, but small). 3 doors (long and narrow). waist height to replace existing island (see photo).
hopefully we can use existing door brackets (attached to cabinet). though, will buy new brackets if we need too. we would also like simple modern door handles (small and brushed metal).
back of existing cabinet (where sink is) - veneer (wenge wood).
this is all in a condo. we will install the doors and cabinet ourselves, just need the doors/cabinet made.
I have a standard condo kitchen and my cabinets are getting old and worn out looking. I would like to have the the cabinets painted. I would also like to have a backsplash installed.
I would like to include the following in this project:

- Doors, drawers faces, kick plates to be removed, sanded, holes filled, and painted
- Gables, filler pieces, peninsula faces sanded and painted
- Replace a gable adjacent to fridge (which was damaged by water)
- Install kitchen backsplash (aprox. 35 sq.ft.)
- Install new dishwasher (already purchased)
In my bathroom, the vanity was damaged by water so it has to be replaced as well.
