We are looking to update the floors in the kitchen and install new countertops.
The floors for the rest of the bathroom and one bedroom would need to be updated, as well.
Repairs to some walls are also required, along with painting.
One door and window need to be replaced.
The total square footage is approximately 420 square feet.
We have an existing granite countertop that we may be able to use, if it can be accommodated in the space.

I am planning to have the old kitchen removed and replaced with a new one. The new kitchen will be in sleek contemporary style, with few surface details and finishes of light wood. It can be natural light wood or melamine (if it looks good and natural).
The new kitchen should have pretty much the same configuration as the old one. But, if necessary, the dimensions may be slightly changed.
In the new kitchen design, I’d like to integrate a new fridge (and possibly, a dishwasher) covering them with panels of the same finish as for the cabinet doors.
Also, I’d like to have a smaller single sink, so the opening in the existing countertop will likely not fit, and the countertop may have to be replaced.
Here are the current dimensions of the kitchen:
- Overall Height 84” (7’)
- Overall Width 129” (10.75’)
- Max Depth 26”
Dimensions of cabinets
- Pantry: 84”H x 29”W x 16”D (26” deep side panels)
- Sink cabinet: 32”W x 24”D x 36”H
- Narrow floor cabinet: 12”W x 24"D x 36"H
- Dishwasher: 24”W x 24"D x 36"H
- Left wall cabinet: 32”W x 32”H x12”D
- Right wall cabinet: 36”W x 32”H x12”D
- Fridge cabinet: 33”W x 84"H x 36”D with opening 31.5”W x 70”H x26”D
In the exiting kitchen, there is an island, which I'd like to keep as is, but only replace the doors on both sides of the stove.
Island doors:
- 19.5”W x 6.5”H x 3/4”T (4 pieces)
- 19.5”W x 11”H (1 piece)
- 19.5”W x 23.7” (1 piece)
Another part of the project will be replacing the tiles on the floor in the kitchen area 130”L x 44”W. However, it can be excluded from the scope, and I can arrange the tile replacement myself, as a separate project.
The kitchen is located in a condo at the Toronto Harbourfront (at Spadina and Lakeshore West). The condo has a service elevator and a contractor parking. Noisy work can be performed from 9 AM to 5 PM from Monday to Friday.
When you contact me, please present an itemized quote with separate prices for:
- cabinets
- countertop
- sink
- faucet
- fridge
- dishwasher
- panels for fridge and dishwasher
- countertop lighting
- tile removal
- new tile installation and grouting
- installation of all cabinets and new components
- removal of the old kitchen parts and all construction garbage.
This is a rental unit where I need to spruce up a small old kitchen. The existing counter top is covered in tiles. Need it removed and replaced with a standard laminate counter top which I will get from HD or Ikea , might require some minor framing suppport within the old cabinet. Would also like to pull of the old backsplash and redo with some subway tile or something similar. The flooring is old vinyl and I would like to lay vinyl plank over it. I will supply materials, just looking for someone to do the labour, you supply grout and thinset for backsplash. Floor area for vinyl plank is about 14x7 minus cabinets and appliances. Backsplash is about 7 linear feet up to the upper cabinets and up around sink area. Can send pics if you provide email. Thanks.
My name is Kris,
We have a new condo in North York that we would like to renovate.
we do not take possession of the unit until the 20th of April - but i was hoping to get a basic quote, and start the ball rolling.
We will be replacing the cabinets, and the countertops
In photo 1, the cabinets that are on the right hand side (above the sink) we would like them removed to create a more open space.
we would like to move the stove from its current location to the far back wall (in photo 1, its the wall at the end of the kitchen with no cabinets on it). this is not a requirement - just a preference. if it is too costly to reconfigure, we don't need to do it.
the sink and dishwasher can remain the same.
the kitchen is aprox 7.25 ft X 8 ft.
I'm just hoping for a basic quote, i understand depending on the materials we chose, prices will change. etc.
I am looking to do a open concept in my main floor kitchen. I had a engineer draw up plans and was looking to get an idea of cost. The length of the beam is 20'. The beam is made up of a 1/2" x 11 7/8" x 20' steel plate sandwiched between (4) LVL's with carriage bolts every 24". The outside wall post will rest on (6) 2" x 4" 8' and inside post/ column will be (6) w" x 6" and then the same in the basement with a new concrete pad 10" deep by 36" x 36".
Location: DVP and 401
Small fire in the kitchen. need to patch, fix and paint walls.
Remove current cabinet and counter top.
Replace cabinet and countertop. Connect sink and faucet.
I have detailed written description of the work available. I need a written quote ASAP plz. after that I'll work with the contractor to order the cabinets which will take up to 8 weeks to be ready.
Thanks,
Zach

We take posession of this house July 4 and want the renos done before we move in. We are hoping to have the renos done before August. A July start date is a must!
We've had a couple contractors already come in and look at it and described it as a 'small one week job' (assuming no complications) but they are both too busy to start in July.
Approximately 80 year old house, hard wood floors. Updated 100 amp service.
Room is 11' long by 9' wide.
Existing kitchen has sink/dishwasher/electric stove but limited lighting (no celiing lighting). The basement area below the kitchen is finished, so the ceiling may need to be opened up for wiring/gas fitting, etc.
There is one half wall with wooden shutters that may need modification to mount cabinets on but probably doesn't need to be rebuilt from scratch (there are posts to mount the cabinets on)
The job involves:
demolition of existing kitchen
installation of track lighting in the ceiling without having to refinish the ceiling/molding (ie. no pot lights)
installation of gas line for stove (there's gas service in the house already and there may be an disused line to the kitchen but if not, one will have to be installed)
install vent to outside (through brick wall) for hood over stove
install new window in kitchen
assembly/installation of ikea kitchen - about 9' of base cabinets and wall cabinets on one side, about 6' of base cabinets and wall on the other side, including any custom carpentry required to notch out the corner cabinets to accommodate the existing posts.
installation of granite counter top (no sink holes need to be cut as we are putting in a large porcelain sink) - about 10.5' of counter top in total - 4 slabs, two 3', one 2' and one 2.5' based on our existing calculations.
installing sink and moving any plumbing, if necessary.
installation, hook-up of gas stove (?)
installation, hook-up of dish washer (?)
tiled back-splash along counters on both sides
under cabinet lighting on both sides.
repair/installation of any drywall ready to paint, including basement
whatever needs to be done to the half wall to mount the cabinets, have the backsplash tiled and hide any exposed wooden shutters after the cabinets are mounted (hope that makes sense!).
no painting or decorating recquired.
Requirements
Need to reconfigure existing layout - relocate stove/microwave hood, make room for dishwasher
All new cabinetry (white) with no ceiling gap, some cabinets with glass panels, under cabinet valence with lighting
Design should maximize the space/storage
Extra deep stainless steel sink
High-grade laminate countertop (would also like a quote on granite)
No floor replacement required - floors are new hardwood
Looking for a functional galley kitchen design
Other Info
The house is circa 1929
Kitchen has been updated by previous owners
Floors are in excellent condition and are to remain
Radiator in kitchen will need to be worked into design – will consider removing and replacing with something smaller or an electric solution
Would like the work to take begin and finish during May 06
All planning can take place during the lead up to May
Project cannot exceed 15k

We live in an old condo in Downtown core Toronto. The kitchen is very small (200x230 cm LxW). We would like to replace the old cabinets and counter top, and planning to knock down two walls beside and above a small narrow coffee counter in order to open up the viewing. But by doing so, we will lose four upper cabinets where we put dishes, plates etc.
how are we going to find more space to store those our stuff? We appreciate if you can give us some suggestion. What will the estimate cost be?
Thank you,
Hua & George
