A two-storey square footprint gamble-roof house built in 1979. Located in Aurora around Yonge and Batson. We would like a quote on attic insulation and are open to suggestion as to the method. I think it will be a very simple case of blowing in on top of the existing (original) blown in stuff.

Hello - we want to keep the design the same as the existing kitchen however we want to change the upper and lower cabinets, the counter top and the sink and faucet. We'd like to remove and update the backsplash as well. The kitchen is a U shape and is approximately 21 linear feet. We also need a pantry that 86 " high, 18" wide and 25 " deep with pull out drawers. The house was built in 1988. We would like to use Formica # 3518-46 for the counter top. We'd like a glossy white cupboard; originally we looked at Thomasville Nouveau Crosse high gloss lily but it is very expensive at Home Depot! Thanks very much, Joanne

Backyard deck

My home is located in Aurora, ON near Bayview and Wellington, just a couple intersections west of Hwy 404. The home is approximately 8 years old. I am interested in estimates for the construction of a deck joined with the home in my backyard. The house is a semi-detached with a walk-out basement, with entry ways into and out of the rear of the home on both the main floor and the basement. The main floor doorway currently exits onto a raised balcony, while the basement doorway exits directly into the yard. For this deck project, I'd like the main floor doorway to exit onto a raised deck, with a stair way down to yard level onto a similarly sized main floor deck or patio. The raised main floor deck would be roughly 20' x 10'-15', with privacy walls on both short sides and railing on the third side running the length of the deck. With regards to the railing, I'm interested in estimates for various materials but glass particularly. The railing should also have integrated lighting. For yard level, the deck would be a similar size to the main floor, though potentially slightly larger than the top floor, perhaps 20' x 20' or extended beyond the main floor with a landing. I'd be interested in lighting along the posts or underside of the main floor decking and steps down to the lawn. I'm flexible on whether this is a deck or a patio. As there is a walkout basement, there is also currently a stairway from street level on the side of the home leading down to my backyard. I'd be interested in upgrading the pathway leading from the front and along the side of the home to the steps, either in concrete or stone or some combination of materials. I'd also like to convert the stairway itself into a ramp. I hope the above provides sufficient initial information. I'm flexible in terms of materials and layout, as well as time frame. I'm open to the having options presented to me. I'd like to gauge the actual scale of the project in terms of time and budget. I'd be open to having the project completed this fall. I'm given to understand that there will be lead time in terms of planning, permits and materials as well as your own availability so this project needn't start construction this year. However, I would like to get as much of it started as possible and not have the lead time affect construction time. I understand that the cost of lumber fluctuates each year, as well as throughout the season so I'd like to plan construction to minimize cost of materials. I'd like to provide a budget but I find I have little information to make an informed estimate. A driving reason for reaching out to contractors now is to help me make an informed decision. Thank you very much for your time and attention.

Fencing, concrete and Interlock

We are moving to a rural home on August 3rd. There is currently an inground pool on the property that is not fenced. We are looking to have black chainlink surround the pool as soon as possible for insurance purposes. Although we can't give you specific dimensions of the area at this point we can tell you that the pool is of average size with poured concrete decking and a 12x12 interlock sitting area. Depending on pricing (and finances after our move) we are also looking to do the following: (1) lay interlock in front of our small barn (approximately 20 x 10: we have the interlock); (2) tear up existing concrete around the pool (which has badly shifted) and replace; (3) sod and fence an area outside our back door as a large dog run (approximately 20 x 10) (4) grade and lay gravel on our driveway (approximately 1,000 feet) If the pricing could be broken down for us that would be great. We may have to do all of the above in single projects, over time, if costing is more than what we are expecting it to be. Thank you for quoting. Carrie

The pavement along the external wall is about 20-25 sq meters. About half of area has concrete slab, but the gap between the wall and concrete slab is big, about 1 inch. I am thinking to remove the existing the concrete slab and put new ones. The rest half of the area is covered by grass or garden plants. for the materials, either interlock brick or concrete slab will work, I need the quotation of both of them. For the repaving of concrete stone patio, the area is also about 20 sq meters. I prefer to use the existing concrete stone. I think they are just laid on soil. I need they are professionally reinstalled.
