Hi there we are looking for some assistance in trying to remodel our holiday trailer from the ‘80s design to the modern age. We also need some help with building a few drawers and a custom eating area and a custom couch that could have storage below.
Not sure about budget but don’t want to go crazy on a 250sqft space.
We can expand the project to make it completely like one of the photos.
Trailer is portable. It is a 2011 Northclick here below are not of our trailer but what we want our trailer to look like. I have photos of our current trailer.
Also because it is a trailer it can be brought to you.
I own a 4 level split that I would like to divide into two suites. The bottom two levels will require a kitchen, moving of the laundry area, sound proofing and a bedroom created. The top two levels will require closing off an area to create a separate entrance to the bottom suite and a bathroom remodel to include laundry.
Hello,
My name is Kristopher Dreger and I own a house with a secondary suite in the basement. I need to have some work done to bring it up to code since the city building inspectors gave me a report outlining several things that have to be brought up to code for it to be continued to be used as a secondary suite.
I am wanting someone to come in and complete the job from start to finish, including necessary permits, drawings etc. I initially thought that it was a smaller job, but having looked at it more closely, I do believe that there is a fairly substantial amount of work to be done.
The main things are fire-proofing the furnace room (1/2 inch drywall all around, or I heard perhaps a sprinkler system would work?) Also, a new wall must be built and insulated to cover up the foundation wall in the laundry room, the stairwell needs to be redesigned (probably the biggest task) we need to make up about 8 inches of head clearance. And there are supporting beams above the stairs. It is fixable, but it may end up requiring moving some gas lines, power lines, and the entire stairwell. Also, a new wall must be built to cover the laundry facilities, the ceiling needs to be drywalled in the basement suite to satisfy fire regulations etc.
If you would be interested in taking on this job, please let me know. We can setup a time to do an estimate or I can email you the report so that you can start to look through it and see if you want to take this on.
Also, if you aren't able to do this job, but have a suggestion for someone who may be interested, please pass on this email or give me some contact info. I am desperate to find a qualified contractor to do this work as we need to get this suite up to code and I don't have the time or knowledge to do these things.
To Whom It May Concern:
I recently discovered that my shed is not compliant with Edmonton city by-laws (too close to rear-lot line). To make it compliant, two small upgrades are required:
1) Install 5/8" drywall on rear interior wall (8' x 10').
2) Replace soffits on rear side of shed with non-ventilating kind.
That is all,
Mark
I would like to have a basement entrance to be installed on the side of my house where a window is now. The grade of the house is below the window but would still require to dig in and install concrete stairs and retaining wall and cut or modify foundation. The house is new. Basement is undeveloped. I have construction plans I could send to any serious contractor.
Two story house, very solid, foundation good, built in 1925. There is an existing side porch that is illegal - built without a permit, and not built very well. It is an enclosed porch, maybe 5 ft wide (out from the house) and 12 or 14 ft long, with 4 or 5 stairs going parallel to the house. At the bottom of the stairs is the basement door. One window on the exterior side of the porch. Some one built a glassed in small area on top of the porch. it has an entrance through a sliding door put through the second floor wall. We need the existing porch to be demolished, and rebuilt as one level only (nothing on top but a roof). On the second floor the sliding door needs to be taken out, some reframing done and replaced with a window.

I need to get side entrance to my basement. I have a double storey house in Millwoods, edmonton. There is a side window to the basement which i want to cut to make a door. Since the basement is below the level of backyard, i would need excavation and steps to climb up. Please let me know the approx. cost of the project and whether i need permit from the city.
thanks

We need one wall removed (not load bearing). One electrical outlet in this wall needs to be moved to an exterior wall. Two areas on the same existing exterior wall need a bit of drywall repair. This same wall then needs to be painted in addition to several other walls. (approximately 100 linear feet).
Existing laminate floor will need to be patched where wall is removed. Three old doors removed and replaced with new doors (two of these new doors we already have, one needs to be purchased). New toilet, vanity and mirror will need to be installed in existing bathroom (plumbing already in place - old toilet, vanity and mirror were removed some time ago).
I have a central stair and need a glazed wall on stairs throughout wall to ceiling. Stair is +/- 16'-0" and 9'-0" high. I have LVL in the ceiling and below the floor. Brushed finish or Chrome for the hardware, no railings in the glazed partition. You can add intermediate support on the stringer.
Budget is key.

Obviously cost is a factor so please feel free to use your discretion and/or make materials recommendations.
Thanks
Project entails:
Adding a wall and making an entrance to renovate one room into two rooms.
Removal of existing floor and installation of hardwood for approximately 1000 square feet.
California knockdown ceilings for 1000 square feet.
The home is a 1960's home. Am interested in meeting with some general contractors to get a quote. Job needs to be completed early July and contractor must be registered and insured with references.
Thanks,
Sophie
Hello,
Unfortunately I am out of town quite often as I work up north and don't have time to have contractors come in and out of my house nor would I like to spend my time on the phone with everyone when I do have time off. I only want an on line estimate for now so I was recommended to come here and post my questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking for a general price to have my staircase stained and finished.
Maple Staircase (raw)
- 14 steps
- 46 spindles
- about 35' of railing
- 3 posts
I would also like to have a separate estimate to have 3 rooms in my home painted with the paint supplied I was thinking Benjamin Moore as I have been told it is the best paint. I only need to have the walls done all the baseboard and doors are fine. Walls need minor patching few dents here and there from furniture.
Room 1 (master):
- 18 x 15
- 8' ceiling
Room 2 (rec room)
- 20 x 16
- 8' ceilieng
Room 3 (spare bedroom)
- 12 x 15
- 8' ceiling
Thanks,
Michael
This is the last bit of the house reno. The house is 20 yrs old and is a story and a half. It consists of straight stairs, closed riser, closed stringer, carpeted. At the base of the stairs are two columns with half newels. The left railing goes to another half newel. The right railing goes to a Landing Newel which sits on a 6.5 inch tall stub wall. The stub wall and railing continue on from the Landing Newel for 6 feet at a right angle to the stairs to the master bedroom. They finish at another half newel.
On the carpeted closed stringers the carpet comes over the top of the stinger and the stair molding sits on top of the carpet.
We are looking to replace with a modern look. Metal spindals, plain with a few fancy ones spaced in between with the option of glass too. The railing shape we are thinking would be a Bullet or Lineal style.
The carpet is soon to be replaced and the stair to follow sometime after that.
We are looking to remove the wall between the kitchen and living room and replacing the kitchen completely with moderately priced kitchen cabinets and building an island
we want to use vinyl planking for flooring throughout the home 700 sq ft and berber carpet in the bedrooms
Patio door may need replacing and a wood deck added
Add a gas fireplace, stone or faux stone mantle
There is one bathroom upstairs that needs new tub, vanity and toilet.
We would also like to get a cost on adding a possible ensuite to the master bedroom (optional) and upstairs laundry
The basement is setup for a rental suite with plumbing etc but needs to be redone, so modest rental kitchen, bathroom. There is already a separate entrance but we need pricing for a separate hvac system for the unit.
The entire house needs to be painted as well
This a a typical 3 bedroom one bathroom bungalow with 2 bedrooms in the front of the house and one in the back.
Wood like to add some faux rock to the front of the house for curb appeal
Hello,
I might be jumping the gun on this, but I am looking into a renovation to a new build. The house is currently being built by Jayman, and there was a late change I was requesting that they will not accommodate, despite the building supervisor saying it wouldn't be an issue.
What I have is a stub wall with an electrical outlet that I would like to change into either a glass or metal railing. I would be interested to get a very general idea of what it would cost to have this changed at this point/ I have a few photos I could forward as well as a general floorplan.
Please let me know if you can provide any information at this point. The house should be complete in late may and I would like to have the renovation done immediately on possession if possible.
I have an old home (made in 1917, happy birthday).
It's 1.5 stories. 1100 sq ft total.
There are two support beams in the basement that look like they could use replacing.
The partial second story floor is also sagging/dipping a bit at the same points as the first floor.
The load bearing posts in the basement should be replaced for sure to maybe lift it a bit as 100 years of settling needs to be given some attention to.
I'm not looking for an exact quote on here, because that's not realistic. You'd need to see the size of the house, condition, etc.
However, I would like a price range of what these kind of services cost so I can at least schedule actual estimates without wasting anyone's time.
Thanks!
