Remove old laminate countertops, sink and faucet in a smaller kitchen.
Supply and install new laminate countertops. Install new sink and faucet (I'll supply).
Maybe, other related reno work depending on start date and quote. E.g. backsplash tile, light fixtures, cabinets painting, etc.
Install new LED pot lights (approx. 6-9)
new cabinets and granite countertops installed in May 2011. there was a 6 inch crack from the wall to the sink edge all the way through the granite. We called the contractor who had the installer come to make a repair that we were told would repair the crack.
We were told that if we were not happy to call the contractor. The repair did not eliminate the crack and we called the contractor again to come and see it. His response was "its as good as it gets."
We are not happy and calls have not been returned.
We paid $3600.00 for this counter. "As good as it gets" is not good enough!!!!!!
any suggestions????
Hi There
I hired a family friend who is a contracter to come in and renovate my kitchen. This included complete demolition of the kitchen, removal of all trash and a new kitchen put together.
New Cupboards, Drawers, new counter tops, new sink, new sick faucet, Back-splash.
It has been 3 weeks and I have not seen very much done at all. The contracter is never here on time... he says he will be at my apartment at 10:00am, and does not show up until 1:00pm. He is constantly lying about what he will get done in a day. I am completely fed up, and looking for someone to come in a give me an estimate on how much it will cost to complete the rest of the kitchen.
There are ruffly 5 cupboards put up (not finished - just the shell of the cupboard and maybe a couple shelfs). Other then that there is nothing completed in the kitchen.
I need someone who is reliable and will get the job done within a 2 week time frame.
Thanks.
Our home is 11 years old and we are on a planning and budgeting stage of renovating our kitchen. The area of the kitchen is 10ft x 12ft with a u-style layout with an island in the middle. We prefer to use wood on all the cabinets just like the old ones. A better quality laminate or an affordable stone material (granite or silestone) for the counter tops is preferred. A microwave power outlet needs to be installed to fit a new above-the-range-hood type of unit. We also prefer to keep the back splash tiles if possible. We want to add a pantry and install a new kitchen sink. We intend to replace the 30in wide refrigerator with 33in unit in the near future so provisions must be made to fit the unit.
The plan is to switch my kitchen from the front of the house to the back and open up two rooms. This will make the kitchen appx 30ft x 14ft. My home is appx 35yrs old.The cabinetry is to be saved and reused, but new counter tops installed. This of course will need to have plumbing and electrical moved about. The two rooms that are being removed are load bearing walls so I guess a beam would need to be installed as well.
The plan is to have new flooring and insulation between the bsmt and main level, and convert where the kitchen used to be into a bedroom. There will need to be some finishing work done for back splash for the kitchen, etc.
Looking forward to working on the Kitchen switch soon.
Thank you for your interest!
1) 31' x 14' rectangular empty basement living space, not including washroom and a bedroom. 2) Normal average material for kitchen, some sample we saw in Ikea for $2000-3000 including stove, cabinet, sink, etc. 3) The house is about 15 years old. 4) There is a kitchen upstairs directly above where we want to put the kitchen in the basement suite.
CONCERNS: How much is the costs other than materials, for example actual running the pluming, electric, gas, etc? Is there any permit needs to be applied from the city hall? Any costs? If there is a spread sheet of estimate, it would be wonderful.Thanks.
