On February 28th 2024, I paid over $800 for parts to fix my washing machine and was assured it will take 2-3 business days.
This is March 27th, and the parts has still not arrived and they have no date when it will arrive. They keep saying it is on back order.
When I ask to cancel, they tell me they will deduct labor costs, when labor has not been provided, they will also deduct shipping costs, for products that were not shipped.
This company is proving to be unreliable and the entire process has been frustrating. I advice anyone to beware of this company.
They cannot be trusted to keep their SLA.
The A Team Appliance repair charged me $957 to order parts on Feb. 12. No parts were ordered. I requested refund but it was denied. This company is a home for dishonest, unprofessional and un- licensed people. If there is one honest person in this company, please refund my money.
Stay away from this company.
Spent 30 minutes and did nothing. Told can’t get parts because it is 12 years old. Had another company come in because it was thumping and got part no trouble. My dryer and washer on top floor of house. When I went upstairs door of dryer open. When I shut it it came on and wouldn’t shut off. Before the tech left he told me not to use dryer for 4 hours This dryer was in worse shape. My daughter got a new one and when they delivered it asked what happened. We told them and said they would make sure everyone of their friends and family knew. They told my daughter I signed contract so no refund. These are not qualified tech.
Review of The A Team Appliance Repair:
My experience with The A Team Appliance Repair was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, this company displayed a level of incompetence and dishonesty that is truly astounding.
Firstly, when I called to book a service, I was informed that there would be a service charge of $80 just for them to come and check the appliance. Fair enough, I thought, until they mentioned that if I decided to go ahead with the repair, the service charge would be waived. Of course, it's common sense that the actual repair would cost extra, but this shady tactic left a bad taste in my mouth right from the beginning.
Secondly, despite scheduling an appointment window of 6pm-9pm, the technician didn't bother showing up until well past 9:10 pm. Clearly, punctuality is not a priority for this company.
When the technician finally arrived, he assessed the oven and quoted me a price of $280 plus taxes for the repair. Reluctantly, I agreed, but only under the condition that the final cost would not exceed this amount. However, just minutes later, he informed me that the actual cost would be a whopping $785 plus taxes! How convenient that this significant increase wasn't mentioned upfront.
When I objected and demanded a refund, the technician brushed me off, instructing me to contact their customer care team the next morning. But surprise, surprise, when I called the next day, I was met with unprofessionalism and a complete lack of willingness to address my concerns, let alone offer a refund.
In the end, I ended up shelling out $316.40 for a repair that wasn't even completed. The whole ordeal left me feeling utterly betrayed and deeply regretful of ever choosing to do business with The A Team Appliance Repair.
Save yourself the trouble and avoid this company at all costs. They'll gladly take your hard-earned money and leave you with nothing but frustration and disappointment.
I'd like to share an experience I had with a certain company. I had a scheduled appointment with them at noon yesterday March 3, 2024, which they confirmed at 6 o’clock the same evening.
However, on the day of the appointment March 4, 2024, they called me to reschedule, which didn't fit into my schedule. I was willing to reschedule, but they insisted on charging me a cancellation fee because it was being done on the same day.
It's important to note that they were the ones who initiated the change to the schedule, not me. I was prepared to reschedule and have the technician come out, and I was willing to pay for the service. Despite this, they still insisted on charging me $80 plus tax for the same-day change.
There was no mention of any charges for cancellation or rescheduling fees during my previous conversations with them. I advise others to steer clear of this company, as their business practices and customer service are subpar.

I am writing you this letter as a concerned and very upset consumer that feels he has been duped by this unscrupulous repair company. I feel it should come to your attention as this repair company name came up when my 4-year-old Frigidaire Microvalve would no longer work. They tell me that new appliances are not like old ones they can not be repaired due to all computer chips in them. I didn’t believe this and felt it wasteful to throw a four-year-old item to the dump.
• I guess my first mistake was not believing this and venturing out to get it fixed. When I searched the web, the first name that came up for Frigidaire was The A Appliance team 85 Enterprise Blvd Markham Ontario covering GTA and surrounding area.
• My second mistake was contacting this company and making an appointment for a repair person to come to my home. I was pleasantly surprised when they could come on Monday Feb 12th having contacted them on Saturday.
• They also informed me that I would have to pay an $80 service call and it would be waived if I agreed to perform the service indicted by the service person. I don’t know appliances, so this felt like a fair proposition.
• Once the serviceman man came int the house he opened and closed the door to the microwave ad a brief look (2 minutes) and called me in for discussion. He advised me that it was the MOTHERBOARD, which I had figured as much. He indicated for him to proceed with his assessment the cost is $240. I believe he then asked me to sign a work order to continue. I believe the Competition bureau would call this “Bait and Switch” I believe it’s a criminal offence.
• Once he opens things up, he calls me in again and says I need a new switch and a fuse, he has the part with him it would cost $153 for the two little parts. This is his first misleading and fraudulent statement. I then talk with my wife; we are in for $240 to quit now or another $153 for microwave to function. I advise him I’m getting into the price of new microwave he says no by the time installed would be $750. This is his second fraudulent statement.
• He replaces the two pieces and asks me for a glass of water. He warms the water and tells me that the microwave works but he sees it needs a MAGNETRON. Without repairing the Magnetron, it operates at 40%. He can order a Magnetron at a cost of $320. Now comes his third misleading and fraudulent statement. He indicates “he would not recommend ordering the part. Again, he asked me to sign the work order that I refused this repair I signed it and I should not have.
• I proceed to pay him $444.09 online transfer. I am now concerned that he has my banking information, and it would not surprise me that this company would have a reader on their unit, so I am off to cancel my bank card.
• My wife opens the door to the microwave, and it is dead. DID NOT USE IT ONE TIME $444.
I have a heart condition and am very upset I call the company customer service and accounting. They both pull up my signed document that they have that I refused the magnetron repair. The service person had indicated to me when I asked him what warrantee he has on his work, he said 30 days on his work and 1 year on the parts. If something happened within thirty days, he would come back at no cost.
In speaking with customer service person, she indicated he could go back but “there is no point, we know it’s the magnetron you did not replace.
I am now retired and will make it my job to let everyone that I can know how this fraudulent, company should not be allowed to continue doing business in Ontario or Canada for that matter.

The technician I called to repair minor problem with my still working laundry machine broke my machine during" diagnostics" as he said of the problem. The technician told me he had work alone and after I left him alone he broke my machine and stated I had to pay another 400 for a part on top of 322 for today labor (30 min did nit do nothing). He even did not check the price he just said price immediately like if he remembered all part's prices by heart. I told him I dont want his services any more and said to give my money back he said ok and instructed me to call "office " to get money for labor back. When I called his :"office' the women told me I would never get my money back and advice me to not call them any more. I checked the price foe the part, technician offered me for 400 ,online it costs $ 54. In the end I was left with completely broken laundry machine ( broken by a technician) and pay of 322 for his visit and office refused me to refund. The customer service I think is the technician spouse as she had same accent. A technician came in a private car, not a company car and customer service would not disclose his name and hang off on me while I called them and started to tell them that the technician broke my appliance and left broken plastic panel out and water inside of the machine. Customer services rep was laughing at me and said you would never get your money back,... you can call police ... stop calling. That is a good business for them one client for doing nothing is over $ 300 for 30 min ... they need just 2 clients a day to live good... I did call police they said to be careful who I let in home But said they can not help and suggested to go to civic court. that is not realistic as I would spend more on court then get money back. so that is how all those fake small businesses blossom by cheating people. They know exactly that police would not do anything about all those complaints and will continue cheating people.
They came to fix my washer, as it was not spinning he said it’s 290 to fix, paid him to fix it. After he left I used the machine and it did not work I called they basically said too bad so sad. The next day my husband took the front off the washer to find out the technician placed an empty toilet paper roll under the belt. When my husband called them the next day and she said the technician said it’s not fixable, so my husband asked, why try and fix it if it’s not fixable? This company does not care about no one it’s all about the money and that’s it.
