I just purchased a new home and want to have my basement gutted. I have plans to turn the basement into a legal basement apartment. However I don't have the funds to complete the project all at once. I also need to knock down a supporting wall with the possibility of requiring an egress window installation.
I would need someone that can gut the basement for me and put in a support beam so I can open the space up and divide it into a functioning unit. You must have knowledge of what is required building code wise of a legal unit with regards to egress windows. Example window size required for bedrooms ( light ratio per window size). We need a (wood) double gate built in a 3m space at the side of our house that opens inwards with a latch strong enough to withstand the weight of a 100lb dog if he chooses to push on it. It can be attached to the house, but will require a footing/support post installed on the 'fence' side.
