We need 7 tubs replaced for renos in a condo unit close to NAIT. It's an older building with steel tubs and cheap tub surrounds. We just need the old tubs removed, the new tubs installed, the fixtures reattached (or new ones attached) and we will take care of the rest. We are happy to supply the materials if someone is willing to work for labour only.
There has been recent sewer back-up trouble in the basement of My Mothers small house. Basement clean-up and sewer line replacement are being scheduled.
However I noticed leak into the basement coming from the bathroom above probably from the toilet area. Looking in the bathroom I found this leak looks to have been happening for quite some time and has caused the flooring to become rotten. There is also a lot of mold and a lot of rot around the tube. It looks like everything will need to be gutted right down to the studs and some of these might need to be replaced as well.
The bathroom is small perhaps 5x8 and she will only need a basic tub, basic toilet, simple vanity and the simple fixtures. Nothing fancy because she has limited means.
Also, I'm looking to possibly re-do the kitchen at the same time if the budget works. Work involved -change cabinets, new counter, backsplash and sink, new vinyl flooring and fresh coat of paint. As with the bathroom it is a small space and it would need to be the least expensive option available and done in conjunction with the bathroom.
However given the leak and all the other activity I had to turn the water off so she does not have a functioning bathroom and consequently has had to temporarily move out so time is of the essence. Need to know what would be an approximate budget and timeframe.
This is a unit in a 26 year old apartment building -rental under good repair. The bathtub surround in this unit needs to be replaced with tile or fibregass moulded surround. The floor needs to be replaced.Baseboards replaced .All caulking to be redone .We will be doing the repainting (maintenance team) .
We would like to replace a 19-year-old corner shower. The fibreglass base may be reusable.
We would also like to replace two bathroom sinks and upgrade the shut-off valves.
We will need some assistance in sourcing an appropriately sized new shower. We also have some specific needs for the new sinks.
Our house is in southeast Edmonton. We would like to action this request ASAP.

Good day,
We have 6 minor jobs if you'd be interested in doing - from the inspection we did on our condo before moving in. This will help to make the home livable as there was damage by the prior owner prior to us moving in.
We're hoping to stay under $1100 if possible as we've spent quite a bit on unforeseen DIY repairs up till now to again be able to live in it.
As well, in the future we would like to have the cupboards refinished (cupboards in kitchen, bathrooms, plus frame/molding around cupboards - these were damaged before we took possession sadly.)
1) We recent moved and the sliding shower door in one bathroom needs replacing due to damage, though it was in working condition during the condo inspection.
Does your service include: bringing a sliding shower door with you (instead of dropping off/delivered), installing it, and disposing of the old one? It measures about 53" in width.
2) As well, are you able to remove the mounted shower curtain rod in the other bathroom and replace with an adjustable non-mounted rod?
3) "Shower diverter not functioning properly (not all water flowing to showerhead)- when you pull the hook on the nostril to showersome water comes from above but some still comes from the nostril
4) Dishwasher drain tied directly into garburator - causing water to back up in the kitchen sinks.Have dishwasher drain reinstalled to bypass the garburator entirely, andprevent garburatorblockages from inhibiting dishwasher operation.
^unclog garburator.
5) kitchen sink unclog recommend "snake drain
6) both bathroom sinks pool with water ="Slow/clogged drainage - recommend clean p-trap/tail piece, a partial blockage may be present."
I wanted to replace the dated tile in my tiny basement shower. After removing the tiles and the plywood on the walls (it was very moldy) I discovered that the metal shower pan is rusted and some of the framing is moldy. I am also not prepared to remove the old cement pad underneath... I am looking for someone to help with the rest of the demo and make sure that this time my shower stays mold free! I want another tiled shower but I have a small budget - under $1000. My house is an old one -1951. The shower - before demo - was 32 by 38 inches. Please contact ASAP
i had to rip out my shower because the grout didnt last and the green board behind the tile landed up getting very wet and moldy. there is a concrete base for the shower that i dont think needs to be ripped out. i believe the boards resting on the concrete base need to be replaced. im looking for a cheap shower installation/replacement. the dimensions of the shower were 33 1/4, 44 and 84. im only looking for something that will last, nothing too fancy.
We have 2 showers in our townhome and problems with both of them:
1) Top floor walk- in tile shower leaks. Not sure if this a curb issue or a membrane issue or both. This has been an issue since we bought our place. We don't use the shower at all because it leaks all over our bathroom floor and is damaging the baseboards. We would just like to fix the problem finally, so we can use the shower.
2) Tub/shower on 2nd floor. The tub makes creaking sounds whenever anyone stands in it and sometimes after it has been used when no one is in it. We have had a lot of subfloor issues on this level - subflooring not properly screwed down etc. Not sure if it is an issue with the sub flooring under the tub or improper tub installation, but would at least like someone to come and take a look.
-Shower remodel. Need drywall and tile replacement.
-Main floor flooring. We need carpet plus lino or hardwood.
-Front porch and back fence. We need wood in spots on the front porch deck and repaint fence.
-Garage has water leaking from the snowmelt.
I would like a quote ranging from using the material for a rental unit as well as a higher-end quote.
Thanks
I live in a condo with a small, built in tile shower (approximately 29 inches wide, 30 inches deep and 78 inches high). The shower has apparently had a slow leak in the plumbing which has caused water damage behind the drywall and tiles have started to fall off. The whole shower either needs to be replaced with a new built in shower (replace all the tiles, plumbing faucets, new shower door etc) or have a fiberglass or other manufactured shower fit in (if one exists that is that small). Depending on costs, I may also be looking at a new vanity and sink for the bathroom as well.
Tight space. 2nd bathroom (existing)
Shower was 4x6 tiles over drywall; had leak; tiles and drywall removed.
If required, I or contractor can install concrete board behind shower walls
Perhaps 3 piece wall unit on the 32" x 32" pan, with option of ceiling (where tiles are still in place). The two side walls should extend out past the pan for finishing purposes (original tile did).
Just a cabinet with sink and toilet. Will need to build the room and either take out a closet or make a smaller one. Prob no bigger than 36 x 72. May do other things such as ceramic floors throughout kitchen and the new bathroom. It is a small condo and only has one bathroom so we are trying to put one on the main floor.
Hello,
I'm considering renovating our bedroom 1/2 bath and would like to get a ballpark price estimate to see if it's practical at this time. I'm not quite ready to have contractors coming out to the house. I know your time is valuable and we need to decide which one of several projects to do first.
The room is 6' 4" X 4' 6". We want to replace the toilet, flooring, vanity, sink and taps. The walls have recently been painted so there shouldn't be any painting to do except for touching up. I want to reuse the existing baseboards a this is an older house and we were told years ago that the style can not be purchased. The existing vanity hangs on the wall and does not go down to the floor, but the new one will be a cabinet type with drawers.
I plan to purchase the fixtures, tile and vanity myself, once I have an idea what the cost will be to remove and dispose of the old stuff and to install the new ones. The flooring will probably be a glue down tile type. The counter top will be the fake marble type with the sink built into it.
Thanks for your help.
Dennis
Approximately 5 x 8 ft washroom. Has been fully gutted with new electrical and window installation completed. Most fixtures/finishes have been purchased, including tile, toilet, lighting, etc. Want contractor to install a pocket door, tub, drywall, tile, etc. Would be asking contractor to get washroom “put back together” to completion.
I have need for a new shower stall in my basement bathroom. Have had many quotes and so far not one that fits my budget. I know I need to do a proper job and pay for a good quality to not have to do this replacement again! Have replaced shower two years ago, and although it was medium quality (inserts), and purchased as a “set” it is not holding up! Probably need new base drain, glass doors and now a porcelain tiles on the walls.
Install tile for new steam shower.
The shower is 60 x 36 with a bench seat and niche 12x28 landscape. The plumbing has been completed and aqua board has been installed on the walls. We will select a 12x24 tile for walls and ceiling and smaller tile for the floor and back of the niche. We would consider quartz for the seat and curb. The kerdi board pan, bench and niche have already been purchased. Contractor will be required to install the bench and niche and complete the waterproofing before tiling. Tile have been selected but not purchased - this can be changed if the contractor has a store that they deal with.
I can take pictures if it would be helpful.
Hello,
I am looking for quotes for the cost of turning my basement into a self-contained suite that I can rent out. At the moment it is finished, but it would need a make-over. There is a bar kitchen, but it would need to be turned into a full size kitchen with more cupboards. There is one bedroom already. There is a bar in the middle of the basement that would need to be ripped out, and new flooring put down everywhere - I am thinking of carpet, and lino in the kitchen area. The bathroom needs a new shower, everything else is o.k. The cost of ripping off the old panelling and adding insulation and dry-walling would also be nice to know. Also, I need information on how to re-wire the house so that heating and electrical bills for top and bottom of the house could be made separate. Thanks!
Renovating a 70's/80's master bathroom: removal of large Jacuzzi tub for walk-in tile shower, new double - sink vanity (stone countertop), new shelving cabinets, tile flooring, possible pocket-door conversion, all new plumbing and lighting fixtures, possible use of ground-fault Jacuzzi circuit for heated flooring under tile, new mirror assembly, new toilet, paint, etc.
Hi. Selling our older house ( built 1962) and moving. Very old bthroom with likely original tiling. Tiles are popping off due to moisture infiltration behind them. Board behind is moisture-deteriorated. Not looking for an A+ renovation as we will be moving but certainly needs to look better or be made acceptable/modern. Not sure if a quick fix is possible or if the entire wall behind the tiles is damaged thru moisture. Could consider a new tub or something of that nature. Budget, I would try to keep within $5000 to $8000 but could go higher if job is worse than it looks at first appearance. But as I said, we are moving. Could we get someone to come out and give me some options?
I have a bathroom in master bedroom that needs a renovation. Approx 5'9'. Old fiberglass shower has been pulled out and want a tiled one in its place. I already have the tiles.
I'm looking for the shower space to be expanded to 60", a shelf built in, drywalled, tiled and painted. Tile will extend from shower and cover the floor of bathroom. Will need to add new light fixture as well.
Some of the demo has/will be done by client as well.
