Our house is a 40 year- old bungalow with a walk out basement. The basement is 2281 sq ft and main level is 1453 sq ft. The basement is fully finished but needs renovations. In summary, we need complete renovation of one full and one half bathrooms with new vanities, laminate stair and flooring in the basement, wood wall rails and handrail with wood spindles, repainting of interior including drywall ceilings, etc. The full batroom would require a walk-in shower. There is also one storage space to be finished. In addition, we need remodelling of two closets and crafting one new cabinet in the main floor.
We have got budget proposals from two contractors, which are quite different in price (one of them is almost %60 less than the other). Therefore we are quite confused. I would appreciate if there would be any comments regarding our project and what would be a fair estimate on such a project. Thanks!
There are two bathrooms that need work: a generic bathroom on the second storey (sink, toilet, tub) and an ensuite bathroom (toilet, 2 sinks, wide tub, standup shower). Major components have been purchased (toilets, jacuzzi tub, shower head and faucet)
Work for main second floor bathroom includes:
Replace tub with jacuzzi tub (requires electrical work)
Replace tiles, with 12x12 tiles and accent tiles (only around tub area)
Replace toilet and install bidet in toilet and make water connections for bidet
Paint
Work for ensuite bathroom includes:
Replace tiles in stand up shower with 12x12 tiles and accent tiles.
Replace toilet and install bidet in toilet
Install stand up shower door
Install sliding toilet partition door
Finish walls arounds built-in shelves
Install closet door
Paint
Replace toilet in third bathroom, install bidet and make necessary water connections.
There are other jobs associated with the jobs listed. Also if the work can be done in the evenings (after 5pm) and weekends it would be preferred. But I can take time off of work a couple times a week and have work start at around 1pm and get it done over the course of the project.
I would request for someone to come out to my house near 23 ave. and Rabbit Hill Rd., Edmonton, and give me an estimate.
Thank you,
Aamir
Tear out old tile and plaster/drywall in 3 bathrooms and old bathroom fixtures and replace with new replaced drain lines only except for toilets I think (h20 lines are copper and in good shape, drain lines are cast iron) (No moving of plumbing keep everything in same place as currently) Put it new tile (subway) and concrete board and tub in bathtub/showers. Put in laundry water lines and drain right next to current bath drains in 2 floors and electrical. (I am open to 120 volt combo washer and dryer to avoid 220 wiring and no venting required to save $) Replace old kitchen counters (about 13-14 linear feet per kitchen) and backsplash in 2 kitchens and replace with granite counters and nice tile backsplash.
Add dishwasher to 1 kitchen.
Some flooring with refinishing hardwood if in good shape (under carpet) and/or lay vinyl plank overtop if in poor condition.

Hi there.
Looking for a contractor to renovate 4 (40 sq ft) bathrooms in our building.
The work includes:
Wall/ceiling repaired and painted
Toilets and sinks to be removed and replaced
Flooring and baseboard removed and replaced
Light fixture and switch removed and replaced
Doors removed, replaced and painted. Door hardware replaced.
Mirrors removed and replaced.
Fixtures (toilet paper holder, paper towel holder, etc) removed and replaced.
We can either purchase all necessary products (toilets, paint, etc) and the contractor just supplies labor or work with the contractor to supply the products and labour.
We are hoping to have the work done in June/July. Please contact us if you are interested in quoting on this project.
I would like to add an en suite bathroom to the master bedroom, and move the laundry plumbing to the same bedroom to free up the room that its currently in. The basement is unfinished, plumbing and tie in below would be rather easy/straightforward. I am looking for a basic bathroom, with a shower surround (not tiled).
I am opening a coffee shop. Currently there is only one bathroom so I need to have a second bathroom built next to the existing one.
Along with this second bathroom I need hot and cold water, and electricity to be run to the front counter area so I can have a small sink and operate some basic kitchen appliances like toaster, blender etc.
The space will be available starting Wednesday, March 3rd for you to inspect the project site and give me an estimate.
Thank you,
Jake
We did a renovation a couple years ago and there is a design flaw. The design creates sitting water that leaks behind the walls and makes it almost impossible to have a shower without getting water everywhere. We need the Tub and Tub bulkhead removed. Then the area turned into a large shower enclosure with glass. We would like to keep the tile that is currently on the wall as much as possible. There is also some water damage on the other side of the wall, drywall and molding need replacement and some of the hardwood needs replacing. (we have some extra hardwood, paint and some tile from the original renovation if that is helpfiul).
Hi, I am looking for someone reliable to build a bathroom in my basement. The last contractor bailed on me at the last minute. The area is already rough plumbed and the vent for the fan is already installed to the outside of the house. I have the corner shower, toilet, vanity and mirror already. It's not a huge area maybe 8x10. I am in a bit of a time crunch as I was hoping for the project to be completed by the end of the month. It was supposed to start last week. I've posted a low budget but am flexible to a reasonable amount.
We had to tear out our basement bathroom due to leak that resulted in mold damage. Most of the walls were removed. The bathroom was very small. A shower, small vanity and the toilet. Roughly 5x7' (35sqft). With the walls removed we have hopefully more options to expand.
A bath and shower would be ideal. A larger vanity and storage. Working with some of the existing plumbing would be a plus. We are starting with essentially nothing so a company with design would be a plus because we want to work with a future basement renovation in mind as well.
Our house was built in 1959. The square footage is 1100.
Three jobs, all related. 1. The basement bathroom 11' 6" x 7' needs to be redone. Removal of old subfloor, shower, sink, dividing wall structure and toilet. Installation of drainage in concrete floor for shower, sink, washing machine and furnace humidity drip pipe. Rearranging water pipes to shower area and wash basin, installation of tiled shower area, installation of Ikea wash basin, installation of toilet (and possibly platform for toilet), rebuilding dividing wall between toilet and wash basin (which hides the drain stack), replacing faulty shut off faucet to outside in ceiling, repositioning and replacing some panels in the drop ceiling, repositioning sliding door foot and header which hides the furnace and laundry area), replacing drywall, repositioning electrical outlets, removal of electrical pony. 2. Installation of a new electrical panel upstairs and electrical needs requirement assessment for the basement power outlets and demand. 3. Build wooden frame for Napoleon 50” electrical fireplace in basement living area, checking electrical requirement is adequate, installation of fireplace, maybe finishing structure in stone. Will determine overall finishing activities which can be done by ourselves. Installed floors in basement to be kept as is. I am the property owner. Would appreciate design ideas too after seeing property. emails appreciated, however, call if clarification needed.
We bought this home in january 2017 and have plumbing in the middle of the basement for a bathroom to be installed. We would love to have this completed by mid july and cost less than 10k. We would love suggestions on the way it could be developed as we would like an additional wall built to close off the laundry area and an additional wall built beside the bathroom for storage.
I have a small 3 year old house in terwillegar towne that i'm developing the basement for. the basement has a 3 piece rough-in for a bathroom. but it appears the tub drain needs to be moved over a few inches so the tub actually fits properly. this means a bit of the concrete would have to be dug out. i'm looking for somone that can move that tub drain pipe and do all the "rough" and "finish" plumbing for me. this obviously includes the water lines too (not just the drainage).
i'm looking for a contractor that can provide a free quote and can come by as soon as possible to just give me a quote and hopefully the work can begin within a week as well.
please keep me posted. thanks.

I need to have my shower tiled and have glass doors installed. I also need the shower head and knob to control water flow.
I began this project and just do not have the time to finish it. The bathroom is finished except for the shower. My mother is visiting on the 21st of this month and I would love to have the bathroom finished.
Part 1: Finishing our basement reno.. last item is the bathroom.
What is done right now? Framing. All rough in plumbing, Tub in place, Toilet in place. Electrical all in. Cieling fan is in.
What needs to be done?
Back frame for the shower head. Insulate walls, Drywall (with supplied acqua board)
Walls and cieling. Set the pedastal sink, install water and drain lines.
Once done.. Put lighting and plumbing fixtures on.
Once done, Install Tub vinyle tub surround.
One that is done.. Lay tile on floor. or Vinyle lenoleaum..
Size of bathroom? 8x6 approx A very small bathroom.
That should quantify the scope of the job.
Who will paint? Once drywall (mud tape etc) is done.. I will prime and paint.
Expectation.. 2-3 day job. (ie. drywall mud has to dry -1 day)
Part 2-
Older house in Beverly area, Need to have the rear door removed, and new exterior door & frame installed. Current exterior door is a non exterior door (ie. Interior door) and is very cold in the winter.
This job will be supply and install.
This is a small basement bathroom project. About 4 ft by 6 ft, excluding shower area - see below for size.
Needs new flooring and shower removed and replaced, possibly done in tile or put in a new shower insert depending on price. (34 x 34 inches)
Plumbing in shower needs to be moved as previous owner placed has shower head on an outside wall.
Existing tile around the shower stall removed and replaced.
Ventilation fan needs to be added
New fixtures, electrical plugs added
I have plumbing repairs that will be done to the bathroom in my residential basement suite apartment, after which I will require the bathroom being out back together. Depending on what the contractor doing the plumbing repairs finds I may require fixtures (shower, laundry) being moved from their current positions.
It's a tight space and may require creative thinking and ingenuity to get what I need to fix the errors from a previous, poorly done renovated space on a small budget.
Small basement bathroom with 32"x32" alcove with older moulded 30"x30" shower installed, would like to put small tiled shower with new fixture in as well as tile floor. Approx.30-35 floor tiles needed for floor. Toilet and vanity will remain in place. Had one quote done and was as much as whole main bathroom. This is a spare bathroom barely used so price is key. Current floor is peel and stick cheap tiles.
Looking to complete the unfinished basement into a living area. the electrical is in, and out side walls are framed and insulated. Still need to frame in a small laundry area and open 60 inches of wall at bottom of stairs. Bedroom and bathroom are complete. Mostly drywall flooring and ceiling. Would also like to have a fireplace installed. The area isn,t very large about
14 ft by 14 ft (approx)
I am looking for a professional licensed reasonably priced contractor to complete a basement development. My house was built in 1995. The square footage is approximatley 650 square feet. I need a bathroom, bedroom, access to furnace room and the rest of the space would be open. I would like to consider adding a wetbar along the outer wall of the bathroom (to connect with the plumbing that is roughed in and I would also like to add in a fire place, shelving and possibly a built in desk with shelving and some storage cupboards.
I am looking to have this job completed by Christmas of this year.
We have a ~750 sq. f.t basement reno and would like quotes on mudding, taping, and priming. The drywall installation will be completely done prior to your arrival.
Components: 1 bathroom (with tub), ~50 sq. ft. of ceiling (we're doing drop for the most part), and 1 large living space (There are no bedrooms), 1 bar area.
